On the way up, you will come across the remains of fortification walls, ancient rock steps and several water reservoirs. The fort has a unique architecture with a square floor plan and bastions at each corner.

From the top, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Sahyadri range and the picturesque landscape.

Best time to visit: The best time to trek Kamalgad is during the winter months from November to February when the weather is cool and pleasant.

Summers can be hot and the monsoon season (June to September) can make the trail slippery and challenging.
