DORIS FARM COTTAGE Revit and Lumion modeling and drawing; May 2022

The project is based on a local farm that is the legacy of the agricultural heritage of the Black Belt. Through research and on-site analysis, a site plan was made along side a group of 10 peers and individual cottage designs were made.

The aim of the design is to shape and ameliorate the environment, giving visitors the chance to relax in nature and celevrate the region that birthed Black America and American cuisine. The slanted roof of the cottage design was extracted from southern African-American vernacular architecture with the spaces designed to provide visitors with the best natrual experiences of the site.

POINT LINE PLANE

Photography, pencil drawing, paper crafting; Sept 2021

The project explores the abstraction of point, line, and plane, in both two and three dimensions. Three photos representing point, line, and, plane were taken and created into abstracted line drawings which then merged into an intricate abstracted design. A three-dimensional paper model was then made from the final drawing with all parts hatched together without the use of tape or glue.

PERSPECTIVE

Foam board, fishing line, beads, white acrylic paint, white glue; 6’’ x 7’’ x 7.5’’; Aug 2020

The project is designed using two ”lined” images, and the second image is created by manipulating the arrangement of lines in the first images. The position of each line is then determined in the three-dimensional perspective and the pieces were put together so that the final product will display two different images when perceived from the front and from the side.
