NIGHT IN THE MUSEUM: I SPY WITH MY LITTLE EYE 08.10.16 / 11.00–13.00 & 14.00–16.00 / £3 (SUITABLE FOR AGE 5+) Led by performer Natalie Bellingham, this family workshop is all about looking: looking for objects, looking for stories and looking for imagination.

Printmaker Sally Gilford will lead this session where you can design and play with pattern, colour and shape.

OUTDOOR SCULPTURE BUILDING: COME RAIN, COME SHINE 25.10.16 / 11.00–12.00 & 13.30–14.30 / £3 (SUITABLE FOR ALL AGES) Immerse yourself in an imaginative world of sculpture making. Work and play together to build sculptures inspired by artists in the Park.

FAMILY SCULPTURE WORKSHOP: AN ISLAND PARADISE 26.10.16 / 10.00–12.30 & 13.30–16.00 / £3 (SUITABLE FOR AGE 6+) Inspired by NotOna, a white marble sculpture

by Swiss artist Not Vital, re-shape plaster forms with files to create your own imaginative island.

November FAMILY WORKSHOP: FESTIVE TREE DECORATION MAKING 27.11.16 / 10.30–12.30 & 13.30–15.30 / £5 Take inspiration from Not Vital’s beautiful reflective sculptures and the flora and fauna of the Park to create yuletide decorations as a family in time for the beginning of the Advent.

YSP Unique December UNCANNY THEATRE PRESENTS: THE LITTLE PRINCE 10.12.16 / 13.30 & 15.30 / £5 (SUITABLE FOR AGE 4+) Join Uncanny Theatre for an interactive, participatory performance inspired by the Not Vital exhibition and The Little Prince, Antoine de Saint-Exupery’s wonderful and timeless tale. This event also provides an exciting opportunity to star gaze with professional astronomers after the performance.

February FAMILY SCULPTURE WORKSHOP: BITS AND PIECES 15.02.17 / 10.30–12.30 & 13.30–15.30 / £3 (SUITABLE FOR AGE 6+) Taking inspiration from the sculptures of Tony Cragg, explore and create collages and your own sculpture to celebrate the connections between man-made and natural materials.

TOGETHER WE PLAY: FAMILY WORKSHOP 18.02.17 / 10.30–12.00, 12.30–14.00 & 14.30–16.00 / £3 (SUITABLE FOR AGE 5+) Join YSP and Uncanny Theatre for a playful workshop exploring fun ways for your family to create exciting images and objects using catapults, contraptions and all manner of strange things!

LITTLE FAMILY WORLDS: PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP 25.02.17 / 11.00–12.30 & 14.00–15.30 / £3 (SUITABLE FOR AGE 6+) Led by photographer Jane Hewitt, be inspired by the photographs in the exhibition Tread Softly, and work together around the Park to create your own unique images that tell your family tales.

ART & SOCIAL FOR OVER 55S LAST THURSDAY OF THE MONTH / 14.00–16.00 / £5 Join our monthly social for over 55s and enjoy tea, coffee and cake, followed by a look around current exhibitions, a gentle walk, or perhaps a drawing or making activity. Whether you come alone or with a friend, we guarantee a warm welcome!

STILL LOOKING: MINDFULNESS MEDITATION SECOND SUNDAY OF THE MONTH / 10.00–12.00 / £20 Take time out for yourself and experience art mindfully. This event also includes tasty refreshments and time to share your experiences with the group.

October YSP AND NAEA PRESENT: HIDDEN TREASURES 01.10.16 / 11.00–15.00 / FREE / DROP-IN Part of Wakefield Lit Fest Meet the National Arts Education Archive team at YSP, on hand to reveal some treasures from more than 100 catalogued collections. This is a rare chance to explore some of the Archive’s rare book collection and children’s writings.

OPERA NORTH PRESENTS NIGHT FLIGHT: AN EVENING OF MUSIC AND WORDS 22.10.16 / 19.00 & 21.00 / £15 Opera North perform music and words inspired

by Not Vital and surrounded by the artist’s work in the Underground Gallery. Contemporary, classical and world music combine to create a mesmerising and immersive musical event.

AN AFTERNOON WITH ST JUDE’S ARTISTS 29.10.16 / 14.00–16.00 / FREE / DROP IN Enjoy this fantastic informal opportunity to meet the St Jude’s artists exhibiting in Editions and Objects, including Angie Lewin, Mark Hearld and Emily Sutton.
