YSP Family October A CHOIR FOR ALL AGES 21 & 28 SEPT, 5, 12, 19 & 26 OCT 11.00–12.30 / £30 FOR ALL 6 A new choir for parents, carers and grandparents of babes in arms. We welcome anyone who enjoys a good sing-song, even if you can’t hold a tune.

This is about fun for the adults.

FAMILY ANIMATION WORKSHOP 14 OCT / 11.00–13.00 & 14.00–16.00 / £3 (AIMED AT AGE 6+) Inspired by Julian Opie’s new work at YSP, People 15 (2013) we will work with artists to make a group animation which will be shared with you after the event.

OUTDOOR SCULPTURE BUILDING: COME RAIN, COME SHINE 24 OCT 2017 & 20 FEB / 11.00–12.00 & 13.30–14.30 / £3 Immerse yourself in an imaginative world of sculpture making. Work and play together to build sculptures inspired by artists in the Park.

YSP Family ARTS AWARD FAMILY STUDIO 24 OCT & 20 FEB / 11.00–13.00 & 14.00–16.00 / FREE (AIMED AT AGE 6+) Is your family working on their Arts Award Discover or Explore? Our Arts Award Family Studio gives you a free space to think and create, and a base to explore our current Arts Council Collection National Partner exhibitions.

SHAPE AND COLOUR OF LIGHT: FAMILY DROP-IN 25 OCT / 11.00–12.30 & 13.00–16.00 FREE (AIMED AT ALL AGES) Discover how artists have used light, colour and shape in the Occasional Geometries exhibition.

Explore the sculptures, paintings and drawings with your family through fun and creative activities in this drop-in workshop.

LITTLE EXPLORERS 26 OCT / 10.30–12.00 & 13.00–14.30 / £3 (AIMED AT UNDER 5S) Adventure awaits in YSP’s Hidden Forest, our dedicated space for under 5s. Jump, laugh, make, sing, and play beneath the trees. Enjoy this magical space together in the beauty of the outdoors.

NIGHT-TIME TALES 28 OCT / 18.00–19.30 / £3 (AIMED AT AGE 6+) Meet the sculptures at night-time, and see them in torch light. Led by Natalie Bellingham, adventure awaits as you explore the park after hours.

November FAMILY CERAMIC DAY 4 NOV / 11.00–14.00 / £10 (AIMED AT AGE 6+) Craft your own clay creations as a family, taking inspiration from a walk and make session in the Park. Embellish your red earthenware pot with texture and pattern, and finish with slips to create colour.

FESTIVE TREE DECORATION MAKING 26 NOV / 11.00–13.00 & 14.00–16.00 / £5 (AIMED AT ALL AGES) Create festive decorations in time for the beginning of Advent. Taking inspiration from Ai Weiwei’s Circle of Animals / Zodiac Heads (2010), come and make seasonal decorations, inspired by Chinese culture, to hang on your tree. All materials are provided.

February ZODIAC BOOKS 21 FEBRUARY / 11.00–13.00 & 14.00–16.00 £3 (AIMED AT ALL AGES) Taking inspiration from Circle of Animals / Zodiac Heads (2010) by Ai Weiwei and a Chinese story, we will be creating our own fold-out book of new characters and interpretations.

Enjoy an after-hours, exclusive viewing of the Alfredo Jaar exhibition, indulge in a three-course meal accompanied by a full brass brand, followed by a Christmas sing-along.

December CHRISTMAS DECORATION WORKSHOP 9 DEC / 10.00–16.00 £85, YSP MEMBERS £80 Join designer Vicky Ambery-Smith, as she teaches you to fine cut and shape precious metals, enabling you to design and create your own unique Christmas decoration.

ED KLUZ IN CONVERSATION 10 FEB / 13.30–14.30 / £10 Join artist Ed Kluz in conversation with British architectural historian, author and broadcaster Olivia Horsfall Turner as they discuss their new book, The Lost House Revisited, published by Merrell in September 2017, followed by a book signing.

February PAPER COLLAGE WORKSHOP WITH ED KLUZ 24 & 25 FEB (TWO-DAY WORKSHOP) 10.00–16.00 / £210, YSP MEMBERS £205 Join Kluz for a two-day workshop to design and create your own collages. You will discover how to make your own coloured and textured paper, and explore abstract and figurative ways of using paper collage.

YSP Heritage October THE HALLS AT BRETTON 14 OCT / 14.00 / FREE (BOOKING ADVISED) Meet the Heritage Team to hear about the early Halls that were built on the Bretton Estate and how they link to Henry VIII, Temple Newsam and the current Bretton Hall mansion house.

YSP Members October FRIEZE SCULPTURE & ZAK OVÉ STUDIO TRIP 5 OCT / 10.00–19.00 / £50 Join our annual trip to Frieze London. Enjoy an exclusive visit to Zak Ové’s studio and a tour of Frieze Sculpture 2017 with Clare Lilley, YSP Director of Programme. Tickets also include a VIP Frieze card, giving you access to the renowned art fair and free entry to a variety of exhibitions and tours at a selection of London galleries from 5–8 October.

ALFREDO JAAR AT NIGHT-TIME 26 OCT / 18.00–19.30 / £8 Join Clare Lilley for an exclusive in-depth twilight tour of Alfredo Jaar’s major YSP exhibition. See the artist’s works after normal opening hours, and experience his breath-taking new installation, The Garden of Good and Evil at dusk.

December TWILIGHT WALK: WINTER PLEASURE GROUNDS 9 DEC / 14.30 / £8.50 Join a winter walk and talk around the Park’s historic lakes and woodland to discover interesting follies and features by candlelight. Finish the tour with a warm winter drink and carols.

As a special memento, guests will take home individually illustrated limited editions, goody bags and personalised wooden placement settings.
