Girl Scout Week 2020 Commemorates Escoda

A week-long celebration of the Girl Scout Week 2020 was held virtually despite the pandemic last September 20 - 26, 2020, the week-long celebration aimed to commemorate Mrs. Josefa Llanes Escoda's day, the founder of the Girl Scouts of the Philippines.

Lighting of the Campfire
Aside from the fun-filled online activities organized by the National Girl Leaders, the Caloocan City Council Girl Leaders initiated their activities for the girls with the theme: Moving Forward: Sustainable Action by the Girls for the Girls
The week-long activities were: Founder day, Environment day, Faith day, Family day, Community day, Troop Leader's day, and lastly, the Girls day. These activities aimed to commemorate and give appreciation to everyone who made Girl Scouting possible - from Him to the founder to the girls who continuously bring out their full potential to take the lead in nation-building. Indeed, the Girl Scouting flame will continue to ignite as long as there are girls who aspire to make a positive impact for Her world.

Campfire's Closing Presentation
The virtual commemoration was attended by 605 girls and troop leaders from 7 districts: Aromar District, Pobcaran District, Tanque District, Caloocan North District 1, Caloocan North District 2, Caloocan North District 3, and Caloocan North District 4.
