ONA MILTON KEATON’S COLLISION GIANTS | #20 | PITCHER, 1ST BASE, OUTFIELD
At just 12 years old, Gideon Waugh is already making a name for himself on the baseball diamond—and doing it with humility, heart, and a whole lot of hustle. A proud member of the Ona Milton Keaton’s Collision Giants and the 10-12 All-Stars, Gideon brings power and poise to every position he plays—whether he’s on the mound, holding down first base, or tracking down balls in the outfield.
Gideon first stepped into the batter’s box at five years old after deciding soccer just involved way too much running. Since then, baseball has become more than just a sport—it’s a passion. One of his favorite moments this season? Taking down Huntington in the first round of the Ghiz tournament. It’s victories like that, earned through teamwork and determination, that fuel his love for the game.
But Gideon’s impact doesn’t end when the final pitch is thrown. Off the field, you’ll find him enjoying church, chowing down on tacos, or playing MLB The Show. His biggest influences?
His parents—who continually encourage him to keep Jesus at the center of all he does—and musician Forrest Frank, whose faith-filled music serves as a reminder to lead with joy.
When asked what makes being on a team so special, Gideon lights up: “Everyone has to work together to earn that win. The friendships made along the way—that’s the best part.”
With a heart for God, a love for the game, and dreams as big as the outfield, Gideon Waugh is more than an athlete—he’s a light on and off the field.

SQUARE ONE SOCCER / SHAWNEE LEAGUE — ONA, WV | #9 | STRIKER AND DEFENSE
From the small town of Ona, West Virginia, Zander Tucker has been kicking up excitement on the soccer field since he was just four years old. Now playing for Square One Soccer and the Shawnee League, Zander has developed into a dynamic player who dominates both striker and defense positions. His love for the game started early, sparked by watching his older brother play — and it’s clear that inspiration turned into motivation.
Zander’s season highlight came when his team became finalists at the Adidas Warrior Classic in Dayton, Ohio, a moment he’ll never forget. He credits that achievement to his team’s hard work and shared commitment. “The best part of being on a team,” he says, “is working together and achieving goals.”
When he’s not on the soccer field, Zander stays active as a member of his school’s jump rope team and also enjoys flag football. Off the field, he’s a gamer at heart, spending time playing FIFA and Fortnite on his PS5.
His favorite teams — Barcelona and Marshall University Soccer — reflect his mix of global and local pride, while his admiration for Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi shows his respect for greatness. But his biggest role model isn’t on TV — it’s his big brother, Zavier. “I want to be as good as him one day,” Zander says with a smile.
With dedication, family support, and a work ethic fueled by his parents’ encouragement — “Keep putting in the work and it will pay off” — Zander’s future on the field looks as bright as the stadium lights he plays under.

For Nicole Harris, sports have been part of life for as long as she can remember. The Huntington native first picked up the game at just five years old, and since then she’s continued to grow as both an athlete and a person. Now suiting up for the Cabell Midland Lady Knights, Nicole brings energy, resilience, and heart every time she takes the field.
One of her favorite memories so far is winning States—a moment that represents the payoff of years of hard work and dedication. “It keeps me active and the friendships I’ve made,” Nicole says about being part of a team, highlighting the connections that mean just as much to her as the competition itself.

Wearing No. 00, Nicole may not have a set position this season, but her determination to contribute wherever needed sets her apart. She looks up to Jesus as her ultimate role model, drawing strength and humility from her faith both on and off the field.
When she’s not practicing or competing, Nicole enjoys the quiet and creative side of life through coloring—an activity that gives her balance and relaxation outside of sports. She’s also a supporter of Concord University athletics and admires the drive and spirit found at the next level of competition.
Her parents’ words capture who Nicole is at her core: “No matter what life has thrown at you, you have faced it head on. You continue to fight and learn no matter the stage you are on. Be true to yourself, keep your eyes focused on God, and you can achieve anything.”
Nicole Harris is more than just a player—she’s a fighter, a teammate, and an inspiration to those around her. With her faith and determination guiding the way, her future in sports and life is wide open.

Hodge # 15

At just one year into his football journey, Brantlee Hodge has already shown the heart, hustle, and determination of a true athlete. Playing defense for the Barboursville Youth League C Team, Brantlee has embraced the game not just as a sport, but as a way to grow, connect, and challenge himself.
For Brantlee, football is about more than touchdowns — it’s about teamwork, discipline, and fun. His favorite memories this season include tackling drills, football camps, tug-of-war battles, scrimmages, and “Faith on the 50”, all moments that have built his skills and confidence. Inspired by his friends and a drive to build a better future for himself, Brantlee’s passion for the game continues to grow every day.
Off the field, Brantlee enjoys playing Fortnite, watching movies with his family, and spending time with his brother and uncle watching WWE. He’s also a big fan of Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs, admiring their energy and leadership.
When asked what he loves most about being part of a team, Brantlee says it’s “getting to learn new drills with other kids and figuring out how to make it work with everyone.” That spirit of teamwork and dedication shows in everything he does
Brantlee’s biggest role models are his mom and dad, who he says are always there for him — from helping with homework to cheering at every game. “They make me feel safe and protected,” he says proudly.
His parents couldn’t be prouder, sharing this message: “Keep working hard, bubba. We love you and we’re super proud of how hard you’re working to be the best you can be. Keep chasing your dreams to the top of the sky — we’ll be right here behind you.”

When the game is on the line, you want someone like Laykin Harley in the outfield. The Barboursville Pirates’ standout center fielder is known for her hustle, determination, and heart—and she proved it this season with a diving catch that secured the final out of a game. That clutch play is one of her proudest moments so far, and it’s a glimpse of the kind of athlete she’s becoming.
Only two years into her softball journey, Laykin has already shown that she’s a natural. Inspired by the excitement of the sport and the thrill of competition, she brings energy and focus every time she steps onto the field. Her favorite team is the Ohio State University Softball squad, and she looks up to Morgen Zirkel as a player she admires.
But Laykin’s greatest role model isn’t on a professional roster—it’s her mom. “She’s just the kind of person I want to be when I grow up,” Laykin says with a smile. That love and support shine through in her commitment, both as a teammate and as a young athlete of faith.
Outside of softball, Laykin enjoys running and staying active, always pushing herself to improve. For her, the best part of being on a team is “having that feeling that your team has your back”—a truth she lives out in every game.
With heart, hustle, and a powerful sense of purpose, Laykin Harley is just getting started—and the future looks bright.

With a strong arm, quick feet, and leadership beyond his years, Maddon Coleman is proving himself as a rising star on the gridiron. As the quarterback for Ona Milton, Maddon thrives under pressure and loves putting points on the board—especially when it means helping his team come out on top.
This season, Maddon’s favorite moments have been all about scoring touchdowns and leading his team to victory. A fan of the Cleveland Browns and inspired by powerhouse running back Nick Chubb, Maddon brings the same level of intensity and focus to every game. He’s been playing football for five years and has never looked back.

Off the field, Maddon keeps things simple and fun. Whether he’s playing outside with his siblings and friends or just soaking up the joys of childhood, he knows how to balance hard work with having a good time. “Making memories with friends and making new friends” is what he loves most about being on a team.
But Maddon’s true inspiration comes from someone even closer to home—his dad. “He pushes me to be the best I can be in everything,” Maddon says proudly. That mindset shows in every snap, pass, and play.
With determination, talent, and a whole lot of heart, Maddon Coleman is a young quarterback with big goals—and he’s just getting started.

1 Corinthians 10:31 (NIV)
“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”
In this verse, Paul writes about how in all things we do, no matter how small, that we should use it as an opportunity to glorify God. In all parts of the routine of our lives we should reflect our devotion and gratitude, from the meals we eat, the conversations we have and how we act on and off the field, every moment reflects our devotion and gratitude toward Him.
When we lose, we must do so with grace. In Psalms 37: 23-24 it says “The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand.” Even when we stumble, miss the shot, lose the game, or fall short of what we hoped for, this verse reminds us that failure isn’t final. With faith, every setback becomes part of the path God is using to strengthen and guide us.
When winning we must do so in a humility. James 4:10 says “Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.” True victory doesn’t come from proving we’re better, it comes from recognizing where our strength really comes from. Let your success point upward, humility invites God’s favor far more than pride ever could.
Our faith isn’t confined to Sunday mornings; it’s lived out every day. On and off the field, in victory and defeat, making ourselves living testimonies of God’s grace. Win or lose, every moment on and off the field is a chance to honor God, not just with our talent, but with our attitude, our humility, and our heart.

From West Hamlin, West Virginia, Kenz Cox has been lighting up the softball field with her energy, determination, and growing love for the game. Playing for the Twelve Pole Tribe in the Lincoln County Little League, Kenz proudly wears number 42 and takes on multiple roles — third base, outfield, and catcher.
Kenz’s favorite moment this season came when she pitched in her first game and got to catch, marking a huge milestone in her three-year softball journey. Inspired by her mom and sister, who both played the sport, Kenz is continuing the family tradition with her own spark and skill.
When asked who she looks up to most, Kenz doesn’t hesitate: her batting coach, Haleigh Christopher, a former Marshall University player who pushes her to improve every practice. “She pushes me every batting practice,” Kenz says. “I want to hit like her one day.”
Off the field, Kenz keeps just as busy — she loves building with Legos, swimming, and going to car shows with her dad. Her favorite player, Montana Fouts, and favorite team, Alabama, fuel her competitive spirit and big dreams.
Through every inning and practice, Kenz stays true to what she loves most about softball: “Cheering on my team.” With a strong support system, passion for the game, and a bright attitude, Kenz Cox is a rising player to watch — and her parents’ message sums it up best: “We are so proud of you, Kenz! Keep pushing and working hard.”

For two years now, Ava Rayburn has been bringing energy, spirit, and positivity to the sidelines as a cheerleader for the Pirates B-Team. Wearing her team colors with pride, Ava has quickly become a bright presence both on and off the field.
Her favorite memory from this season was cheering at the Homecoming game, an event full of excitement and school pride. A fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and star tight end Travis Kelce, Ava enjoys being part of the action and sharing in the electric atmosphere that sports bring to a community.
When asked what she loves most about being on a team, Ava doesn’t hesitate: “Making new friends.” The bonds she’s formed and the friendships she continues to build through cheerleading are just as important to her as the games themselves.
Outside of cheer, Ava loves riding her hoverboard and swimming—activities that keep her active and smiling when she’s not with her team.
Her biggest role model is her mom, who she says, “believes in me and pushes me to be the best version of myself.” That love and encouragement are a big part of what drives Ava to keep giving her best, both in sports and in life.
Her mom’s pride shines through as well: “Ava Gale, you surprise me more and more every day. I’m extremely proud of the young woman you’re becoming. Keep up the great work. Mommy loves you.”
With her spirit, dedication, and love for teamwork, Ava Rayburn is more than just a cheerleader— she’s a motivator, a friend, and a true spark for the Pirates B-Team.

From the moment he could walk, Tate Preece has had a ball in his hands—and he’s been making plays ever since. A versatile and dedicated athlete out of Ona, WV, Tate brings passion, precision, and purpose to the diamond as a shortstop for Ona Milton and the Warriors.
Tate’s love for sports runs deep. Whether it’s the thrill of competition, the joy of playing with friends, or the challenge of improving each day, he’s all in. One of his favorite sports memories wasn’t even from the field —it was watching the Yankees and Red Sox clash at Yankee Stadium, a moment that fueled his love for the game even more.
Tate looks up to baseball superstar Shohei Ohtani and basketball legend Michael Jordan, but it’s his dad who’s had the biggest impact. “He’s always pushing me to be my best,” Tate says. “He spends a lot of time helping me with all my sports, and he loves me.” That support, combined with his own drive, helps Tate stay focused on his goals—on and off the field.
Outside of baseball, Tate enjoys traveling with his family, swimming, fishing, building Legos, shooting hoops, and just being a kid with his friends. He thrives in team settings, where camaraderie and winning go hand in hand.

ONA/MILTON CHEER TEAM
With a bright smile and endless enthusiasm, Lynnzie Shaffer brings spirit and heart to the Ona/Milton Cheer Team. For the past three years, Lynnzie has loved every moment of cheering — from the excitement of game days to the laughter she shares with her teammates.
Her favorite memory from this season? Cheering in the mud! Even when the weather made things messy, Lynnzie kept her energy high and her cheers loud, proving that true team spirit shines through any challenge.
Lynnzie says she was inspired to start cheerleading by her amazing coaches, who continue to motivate her every season. “They make cheering so much fun and help me get better every practice,” she says.
When she’s not on the sidelines, Lynnzie enjoys baking, cooking, and gymnastics, showing the same creativity and focus she brings to cheer. She looks up to the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders, admiring their precision and confidence, but her all-time favorite person is much closer to home — her Mamaw. “She’s a kind soul that loves unconditionally,” Lynnzie says. “I want to be like her when I grow up.”
What she loves most about being on a team is simple but powerful: “The friendships.” Whether she’s practicing routines or cheering at a game, Lynnzie values the bonds she’s built with her teammates most of all.
Her parents couldn’t be prouder, saying, “We love you so much and love watching you do your own activities.” With her positivity, passion, and kind heart, Lynnzie Shaffer is truly a cheerleader who lifts everyone around her.
