YWCAGoldenGateSiliconValleyisonamissiontoeliminateracism,empowerwomen,andpromotepeace, justice,freedomanddignityforall.
BeforetheMarinWomen’sHallofFame,virtuallynorecordsofwomen’sachievementshadbeenrecordedin MarinCounty.TheHallofFamewasestablishedin1987tobuildalegacythatinspiresfuturegenerations.
YWCAhasproudlystewardedtheHallofFamesince2013and,inalignmentwithourmission,hasensuredthe preservationandpromotionofthoselegacies.WithYWCA’sleadership,theHallofFamenotonlydocumentssuccesses, butalsorepresentsadiversesisterhoodofwomensupportingeachother,standingtogetherandmovingtheneedleonprogressforallwomen.
TheMarinWomen’sHallofFamecanonlybesuccessfulwiththecontinuedpartnershipsandsupportoflocalleaders,corporatepartnersandindividual donors.WeeachsharearesponsibilitytouplifttheMarinWomen’sHallofFame,tocelebratethemorethan160womenwhohavebeenhonoredwiththis prestigiousrecognitionandtosustaintheprogramforyearstocome.
YWCA’sstaffarecontinouslyengagedinthestewardshipoftheMarinWomen’sHallofFame.Throughouttheyear,wearein communicationwithHonoreestopromoteandencourageparticipationinboththenominationprocessandtheInduction Ceremony.Inaddition,YWCAdependsongenerouscontributionsandpartnershipstoelevatetheHallofFamethroughlocal mediaoutlets,andmaintainsawebpagededicatedtotheMarinWomen’sHallofFame,adatabaseofHonorees,aYouTube pageforHonoreeoralbiographiesandpromotestheeventonsocialmedia.
