Ourwraparoundservicespromotehealingandsafety,addresseconomicinequitiesandrespondtosystemic injusticesthatdisproportionatelyimpactwomenandfamiliesofcolor.Inthepastyearalone,YourYWCA uplifted42,000communitymemberswithourcritical,andsometimeslife-saving,crisissupportline, childcare,housing,preventioneducation,therapyservicesandeconomicopportunityprograms.
Toachievepositiveoutcomesforthoseweserve,astrongfundingmodelisnecessarytonotonlydeliver YWCA’sprograms,butalsotoretainstaffandmaintainahealthyenvironmentthatallowsustohelpour clientsinatrauma-andresilient-informedway.YourYWCAhaslongheldeffectivepartnershipswithfederal andstatefundingagenciestofuelourservicesforwomen,children,survivors,andmembersoftheLGBTQIA+ community,ensuringthedignityandrespectthateveryindividualdeserves.Thosefundingsourcesareno longerguaranteedgiventherecentexecutiveordersthatplaceheinousrestrictionsonfederalfundingand engagement,whichimpactsourabilitytocontinueservingthemostvulnerablecommunities.
Whileourstrategicplanalreadyindicatesaplanofactiontoincreaseourunrestricted,individualfundingto 30%ofourbudgetby2026–wecan’twaituntilthen.Flexible,unrestrictedfundingempowersYourYWCAto meettheurgentneedsofourcommunitywhenandwheretheyarise,despitethemillionsofdollarsatrisk throughfluctuatinggrantfunding.InvestinginourMissionPromiseFundwillhelpYourYWCAnavigate:
A$1millionestimateddecreaseinVictimsofCrimeActfunding(VOCA),affectingcriticalservicesfor survivorsofdomesticviolence,sexualassaultandhumantrafficking.
Threatstofreezeorwithholdfederalfundsthatwilldirectlyimpact$52millioninfundingforYour YWCA,whichcreatesuncertaintyfor32full-timestaff,includingtherapists,survivoradvocates,and educators,generatingarippleeffectinoursupportservicesforsurvivorsofsexualassault,domestic violenceandhumantrafficking.
Increasedbarriersforimmigrantcommunities–executiveordersrestrictingimmigrantrightsand fundingforlegalaidcouldleavevulnerablesurvivorsandtheirfamilieswithoutaccesstolegal advocacy,legalrepresentationandcriticalresources.
Reductionsinfederalsupportforchildcareprograms,leadingtofeweraffordablechildcarespaces, impactingworkingfamiliesandforcingreductionsandclosuresofearlyeducationprograms.
