We are supposed to be coming into spring but the rain and snow says otherwise ,so it's surprised us this month the weather . But that doesn't mean that we can't carry on with producing the magazine and bring some sunshine with our articles.
In this edition we hear from the YVYC Manager, Jenny Day and get some tips from Ian about how to write a poem.

Work has started up back in the garden. Seeds have been planted in the polytunnel and new planters have been made. We have also made bird boxes. we just need it to warm up a bit

VINTAGE FASHION
My love of vintage started in my early 20's simply because I love the style of the 60's and 70's but mainly 60's. I get so much inspiration from the icons of that time because the style and fashion looks so lovely. I think vintage never goes out of fashion it's timeless. There are lots of vintage shops popping up all over but a good start is charity shops. Save yourself some money and be kind to the environment
SHOP VINTAGE!!!
In my opinion Green Tea is good for you it's good for Detox and its anti-inflamatory. Beetroot is good to lower blood pressure and spinach helps to lower cholesterol.
Beauty and other good tips
Never sleep with your make-up on because it clogs up pores. Concealer gets rid of dark circles under your eyes.
moisturizing is really good because it stops skin from getting dry for men and woman.
BEAUTY AND HEALTH SECTION
Eat well, regular exercise and plenty of sleep keeps you fit and healthy and is good for the body and your mind.

"There Once Is A Queen "
by Michael Morpurgo
There Once Is A Queen is a non-fiction story written as a modern fairy tale.
The story is about the Queen and about her whole life from when she was little. She travels to lots of different countries and places, she opens buildings, parks and hospitals. We see her coronation working as a mechanic in the war and giving her Christmas speech.
We really enjoyed the story! It was easy to read, it was Interesting, it was well written. We thought the illustrations were colourful and very detailed. It was a good read and it was a real page turner. We would recommend this book to everyone and anyone who likes to read.

Example poem:
1) I wrote a poem and made it rhyme,
2) All in rhythm and all in time
3) I looked at the words and made them fit
4) Seeing the syllables from where I sit
You’ll notice from the example that lines 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 all rhyme, that’s the trick to try and find words that rhyme. A poem can be any length and it’s really up to you how long you want to make it. I do suggest a minimum of 8 lines for this taster though and maybe try and see what you can get written down in under an hour.
Try not to over think it! And if you want to share your poems please submit your poem to: yvycmembers@outlook.com along with your name and how you found the activity!
