The dust will rise and the adrenaline will surge as the 103rd Rowell Ranch Rodeo gallops back into Castro Valley/Hayward, bringing with it a wave of Wild West excitement. This historic rodeo draws fans from all over to experience heart-pounding rodeo action, camaraderie and old-fashioned fun. The family-friendly atmosphere, set against the scenic East Bay hills, makes the event more than just a rodeo—it’s a celebration of Western culture and community spirit.

Festivities officially kick off with the return of the Rodeo Parade on Saturday, May 10. This beloved event now features a later start time followed by a lively music and food festival. Castro Valley Boulevard will be shut down to make room for an evening full of entertainment and culinary delights. Events continue throughout the week, building up to rodeo weekend. Fans can look forward to the Cecil Jones Team Roping Cowboy Challenge, the spirited Cowgirl Picnic and the thrilling Rockin’ Bull Bash. Then comes the main event: two days of world-class professional rodeo action on Saturday, May 17, and Sunday, May 18, including a steak BBQ, dance and the Cowboy Experience.

The 2025 Alameda County Fair is set to celebrate summer at the Alameda County Fairgrounds.
