In 2020, veteran singer-songwriter Loudon Wainwright III teamed up with Vince Giordano & the Nighthawks and recorded I’d Rather Lead A Band, a perfectly-paced supper-club set of songs by Irving Berlin, Fats Waller, Frank Loesser, and others. Their album was featured on Terry Gross’ NPR show “Fresh Air” and made it to a number of Top Ten lists. Wainwright performed with Giordano on Martin Scorsese’s 2004 movie The Aviator and on HBO’s Boardwalk Empire, and both recently worked on Scorsese’s upcoming film Killers of The Flower Moon. Grammy-winner Vince Giordano brought the sounds of The Roaring Twenties to life in countless films and TV series over the past three decades. For fifty years, Loudon Wainwright III has carved out a distinguished career as one of our most original singer-songwriters. He appeared in the TV show M.A.S.H. as Capt. Two of the most popular folk groups of all time together in one show! The Kingston Trio are considered one of the most popular singing groups of the 60’s with the hits “Tom Dooley,” “Scotch and Soda,” “Sloop John B,” “MTA” and more. The Limeliters are one of the most in demand folk groups of the last 50 years, they have had several charted albums starting in the early 1960’s and were the musical representatives for Coca Cola for 3 years.

There is an extraordinary heritage of music from the 20th Century that is a hybrid, straddling the worlds of classical and popular, and this presentation will resonantly connect the dots with rich anecdotes and rare musicality. A centerpiece of the program will feature lost and unknown Gershwin works, some originally conceived for two pianos, alongside his more beloved works including “Rhapsody In Blue.” Other works will include those penned by Alec Wilder, Cole Porter, a suite of charming waltzes by Richard Rodgers, a Suite of beloved Latin melodies, along with forays into Jazz, Ragtime and Stride. The concert will feature piano duos, solos, and vocals, and custom selections tailored to each individual performance.

How did T. rex become the iconic apex predator of North America 67 million years ago? Paleontologist Dr. Lindsay Zanno is uncovering the answer. Each year she spends several months on expedition, scouring the badlands of western North America in search of clues. Along the way, she has discovered many new species – including some of the earliest predecessors of T. rex. Join Dr. Zanno for a fascinating look at how a global climate crisis during the Cretaceous changed the course of evolution for this prehistoric tyrant and its ancestors.
