“Dr. Jeffrey Martins and the team at Paradise Dental make you feel like you have known them your whole life. They are such warm and caring people.

My teeth were such a mess when I started going. It’s one of those things where life gets busy and you just don’t take care of your teeth as much. I’m 71 and I still work, but I realized I had bad teeth. I had a chip or two, and the teeth in the front were half the size that they are now. They were a mess! So getting them fixed was a major transformation, no question about it!

I chose Paradise Dental because I heard of Dr. Jeffrey Martins’ work and his passion for reconstructive dentistry - and that’s what I experienced. The result was like night and day! I had no idea my teeth would look this good!

Dr. Martins definitely knows what he is doing. He is incredibly knowledgeable, experienced, and friendly. Plus, his whole team is so warm and caring. They make you feel like you are the only one in the room. They are always smiling and making sure you’re doing ok. The whole process was smooth and pain-free.

I never recommend anyone if I don’t truly believe in them. Dr. Martins and his team are what I call HTP - Highly Trained Professionals. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.” - Roy S.

SARASOTA BALLET: ‘RELATIVE WORKS’

When: Oct. 25-27

Where: Sarasota Opera House

Tickets: $35-$125

Visit SarasotaBallet.org.

We don’t know the name of the ballet or what it’s about. Just knowing that Jessica Lang has created a world premiere for the Sarasota Ballet is enough. Lang has choreographed more than 100 works since 1999 for companies such as the American Ballet Theatre, the Royal Ballet and the Birmingham Royal Ballet. She was appointed the Virginia B. Toulmin & Muriel O’Neil Artist in Residence at the Sarasota Ballet in 2023 after creating “Shades of Spring” for the company’s August 2022 performance at the Joyce Theatre in New York City. Lang’s 2012 work, “Lyric Pieces,” was performed by the Sarasota Ballet last season. Program One also includes Ricardo Graziano’s “Amorosa” and Johan Kobborg’s “Napoli.”

‘ALL IS CALM: THE CHRISTMAS TRUCE OF 1914’

When: Dec. 7-22

Where: The Ringling’s Historic Asolo Theater Tickets: $59-$67 Visit AsoloRep.org.

SARASOTA RISING FESTIVAL

When: Nov. 10-17

Where: Various locations in/around Sarasota & Venice Tickets: Free to $100, depending on the event Visit SarasotaRising.org.

It’s almost here — Sarasota’s first Living Arts Festival. The “baby” of former Sarasota Players artistic director Jeffery Kin has been gestating since 2021. Soon, the 10-day festival will arrive in Sarasota, Venice and points in between with parties, performances and exhibitions. Sure to generate a lot of excitement is an evening with Andrea McCardle, best known to audiences as the star of the hit Broadway musical “Annie.” But that’s just one event among many festival happenings from Nov. 10-17 designed to stimulate tourism and buzz during the period known as “shoulder season.” It’s not too late to donate or volunteer for this cross-cultural jamboree.

Before he became producing artistic director of Asolo Repertory Theatre in July 2023, Peter Rothstein had a celebrated career as founding artistic director of Theater Latté Da in Minneapolis. One of Rothstein’s greatest achievements was writing and directing “All is Calm: The Christmas Truce of 1914,” which won the hearts of theatergoers Off Broadway and across North America. The moving tale about soldiers who put down their arms for one night to share brotherhood and peace comes to the Historic Asolo Theater through a partnership between Asolo Rep and The Ringling. Rothstein will direct.

SARASOTA ORCHESTRA MASTERWORKS: ‘GOING PLACES’

When: Nov. 8-10

Where: Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall Tickets: $39-$105 Visit SarasotaOrchestra.org.

Join Grammy Award-winning conductor Giancarlo Guerrero as he leads Sarasota Orchestra for the first time since being named music director designate. Guerrero will officially take up the baton in the 2025-26 season after completing his 16th season as music director of the Nashville Symphony. This Masterworks performance, titled “Going Places,” features the music of Tchaikovsky, Respighi and American composers Adolphus Hailstork and Jennifer Higdon. Acclaimed violinist Vadim Gluzman joins the orchestra on Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto.

‘MERRILY FROM CENTER STAGE’

When: Oct. 28

Where: Manatee Performing Arts Center Tickets: $40 Visit ManateePerformingArtsCenter.com

It was smiles all around as the recent Broadway revival of Stephen Sondheim’s “Merrily We Roll Along” took home four Tony Awards. What a difference 40 years makes. The first “Merrily,” about the relationship between composer Franklin Shepard and his friends Mary and Charley, was an unmitigated flop back in 1981. Sarasota actress Ann Morrison knows the story all too well: She lived it. But Morrison used lemons to make lemonade. Her one-woman cabaret show, “Merrily from Center Stage,” has played in New York City, Minneapolis and London. It will run for one night only in Bradenton in connection with the Manatee Players’ production of “Merrily We Roll Along.”

Less Downtime, Non-Invasive, Stunning Results!

REVERSE

Aging with Non-Surgical Plexr® Plasma Energy

Plexr® Plasma technology is a non-surgical treatment designed to address various skin concerns.

It offers an excellent alternative to traditional surgery for procedures like eyelid lifts and neck lifts, and reduces wrinkles around the eyes and mouth. Not only is it effective, it’s also more affordable compared to conventional surgical options.

PRESERVE younger-looking skin for longer with Collagen Banking

Our skin changes as we age. Around age 30, our collagen levels, which keep our skin firm and youthful, start to decline. By 40, we may have lost up to 15% of our collagen, leading to fine lines and wrinkles. Collagen Banking treatments are performed to preserve your collagen supply. Plexr® Plasma Shower treatments stimulate months of collagen production to maintain, and even restore, your collagen levels to slow the signs of aging.
