EAST COUNTY — As sales associate Mark Attar makes his way through a new model home in the new Riva Trace community, he smiles. This particular model, the Havana, has been creating quite a buzz with its builtin courtyards, vastly open 2,450-square-foot floor plan and other attributes. “This has been the talk of the town,” Attar said. “People are coming specifically to see the Havana. It’s an incredible response.” Medallion Home opened Riva Trace the weekend of Oct. 29 but hardly has had time to plan a grand opening, tentatively slated for sometime in mid-December, because visitor traffic has been so heavy, Medallion’s Director of Sales and Marketing Gregg Glasser said. “By far, this is the busiest lo-

+ Willis artists partner with Neal Neal Communities hosted its annual My Favorite Home contest, with judging Nov. 9, at Willis Elementary School, where students had been busy drawing their dream homes. This year’s winners were kindergartner Toby Schwenk, first-grader Sean Sugamura, second-grader Hannah Coutsolioutsos, third-grader Emma Correia, fourth-grader Samantha Torino and fifthgrader Briana Downey. The winning images will be used for Neal’s Christmas cards.

In celebration of his 50th birthday, Jamey Murphy and his wife, Jodi Mailman, completed the New York City Marathon Nov. 6. LAKEWOOD RANCH — To celebrate a 50th birthday, some people splurge on luxurious European vacations, purchase a new car, throw a party or eat out at their favorite restaurant. But as Lakewood Ranch resident Jamey Murphy pondered the idea, he settled on something a bit more triumphant — completion of the New York City Marathon. “It was something to shoot for,” said Murphy, finance director for Champs Sports. “I’ve always wanted to do a marathon.”
