Carol Erker and Terri and Jeff Driver, Rotary Club of Longboat Key board members, gave an overview of the leadership positions they hope to fill next year at the May 5 meeting.
Rotary recruiting for new board members The Rotary Club of Longboat is inviting community members to check out its leadership opportunities as members prepare for the upcoming “passing of the gavel.” President Terri Driver plans to stay on as president for another term. But she said there are plenty of ways for those interested in giving back to the community to get involved, including an open position for vice president. The club, which met May 5 at All Angels Episcopal Church, also reviewed other open positions, including one to head its youth reading outreach. To learn more, visit LongboatKeyRotary.org.

Some community members may be making their way north for the season, but they don’t have to say farewell to some of their favorite programs at The Paradise Center. The Longboat community center is expanding its digital outreach, offering live exercise classes via Zoom for members. Available classes cover yoga, qigong, tai chi, dance and more. Email RSVP@TheParadiseCenter.org with the participant’s full name and requested class for a link. Attendees must have a current 2026 membership, available for $50, and credit on a class pass. Call 941-383-6493 for technical support or visit TheParadiseCenter.org for more information about the programs.
