The Winners In celebration of this year’s Summer Fun Guide, The Observer asked students at schools throughout Manatee and Sarasota counties to give us their best depiction of summer.

Our young artists responded, flooding our office with dozens of entries. Every entry

boasted each artist’s unique perception of summer — and each brought our staffers much joy.

With so much talent and creativity, we couldn’t narrow the entries down to just one winner. So, we’ve decided to award one winner from each county along with finalists.

The winner from Manatee is Katie Vautrinot, of Bradenton Christian School, for her vivid poolside scene.

The Sarasota winner is Reilly Shuff, 8, of St. Martha Catholic School, for her lemonade stand.
