The Winners In celebration of this year’s Summer Fun Guide, The Observer asked students at St. Martha Catholic School in Sarasota and Kiddie Academy in Lakewood Ranch to create their own vision of summer.

Our young artists responded, flooding our office

with dozens of entries. Every entry boasted each artist’s unique perception of summer — and each brought our staffers much joy.

With so much talent and creativity, we couldn’t narrow the entries down to just one winner. So, we’ve decided to award one winner from each

school along with three finalists.

The winner from St. Martha is Bekka Larson, 13, for her beach scene. We chose Theresa Corbin Coutu’s Disney scene.
