County considers regulations for short-term rentals

Manatee County opened a new recycling drop-off location at the Premier Sports Campus South on the corner of Premier Sports Boulevard and Rangeland Parkway. Recyclable paper, glass, aluminum and plastics can be dropped off at the site. “We’ve offered public recycling drop-off locations throughout Manatee County since 2013 because recycling remains an important part of reducing waste, keeping recyclables out of the landfill and protecting our environment,” said Tina Saldana, communication coordinator for Manatee County.

Long face leads to happy days Madison Bierl

Learning with lemonade Greenbrook’s AJ Batsch and Michael Pawlak (above), both 12, decided to take action to get what they want. With a handmade lemonade stand sign, a folding table and red solo cups, they slowly but surely attracted customers June 22. Batsch and Pawlak said they wanted to spend their summer raising money through their lemonade stand and also by providing services like dog walking, yard work and power washing. They are saving up for Meta glasses and Pawlak said he wants to raise money to make upgrades on his bike. Batsch wants to donate to Nate’s Honor Animal Rescue.
