A solid alliance at The Juice Pod Tricia Robustelli with Grapevine Communications and Amanda Born with Selah Freedom (above) sipped on smoothies and made some solid connections June 4 at The Juice Pod on Lakewood Ranch Main Street. The women are members of the Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance’s Young Leaders Alliance, which hosted a Rise & Grind social at the juice bar. Robustelli said it can be hard to find other young professionals to connect with, but the alliance makes it easy with events you can attend whenever you want. “Out of all the chambers I’ve joined, I’ve made the best connections through the Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance,” Born said.

Gibbons, an eighth grader at The Classical Academy, and Smith, a seventh grader at Braden River Middle School, took third place in the state for their respective entries into the annual Elks Grand Lodge Americanism Essay Contest. This year’s theme was “What Service to My Country Means to Me.” Both highlighted their families’ military backgrounds, but also smaller acts of service anyone can contribute. Gibbons’ essay said, “Service is about using your own gifts to make a difference.” Read the Observer anytime, anywhere on our free app! Visit YourObserver.com/app-offer or use the QR code below.
