In an age where exploration is increasingly mediated by technology, few individuals embody the spirit of true discovery quite like Victor Vescovo. A former naval officer turned venture capitalist, Vescovo has carved out a singular place in modern exploration - one defined not by spectacle, but by precision, discipline and an unrelenting pursuit of the unknown.
The collaboration culminated in the creation of the Seamaster Planet Ocean Ultra Deep Professional - a watch that represents not merely an advancement, but a rethinking of what a dive watch can be.
While Omega’s expertise in underwater timekeeping is longstanding, the demands of Vescovo’s Five Deeps Expedition

to a rocket booster, exposed directly to the vacuum and thermal extremes of the upper atmosphere. Few objects, mechanical or otherwise, have been documented to operate across such a range of environments. Fewer still have done so repeatedly, with consistent reliability.
What distinguishes this story is not merely the scale of the achievements, but the philosophy that underpins them. For Vescovo, exploration is not an abstract pursuit; it is a discipline defined by preparation, precision and trust.
In this context, the relationship between explorer and instrument becomes deeply significant. A timepiece, often considered a symbol of refinement, is here transformed into a critical tool - one that must perform without fail in conditions where failure is not an option.
Omega’s role in this narrative reflects its broader identity: a brand that has consistently positioned itself at the intersection of innovation and real-world application. From the depths of the ocean to the vacuum of space, its watches have been tested not in controlled environments, but in the most demanding conditions imaginable.
The Seamaster Planet Ocean Ultra Deep Professional stands as a testament to what can be achieved when engineering ambition meets exploratory vision. It is not simply a watch designed to withstand extremes; it is one that has actively participated in redefining them.
In tracing its journey - from the Mariana Trench to Mount Everest, and beyond the Earth’s atmosphere - it becomes clear that this is more than a story of technical accomplishment. It is a narrative about the enduring human desire to push boundaries, and the tools that make such ambition possible.
For Victor Vescovo, the journey continues. And with it, a quiet but powerful reminder: that true exploration is not defined solely by where one goes, but by the precision and purpose with which one gets there.

by Marc Newson
In the rarefied world of haute horlogerie, where time is measured with ever greater precision, there remains a quieter, more philosophical pursuit: to understand time not simply as a function, but as a phenomenon. It is within this space that Jaeger-LeCoultre continues to operate with singular authority - and nowhere is this more evident than in the Atmos Hybris Artistica Tellurium by Marc Newson.
At once a scientific instrument, a mechanical feat and an objet d’art, the Atmos Tellurium transcends conventional definitions of horology. It does not merely indicate time; it interprets it, situating human experience within the vast, cyclical rhythms of the cosmos.
The foundation of this creation lies in the Atmos mechanism itself - a device often described as the closest watchmaking has come to perpetual motion. First conceived in the early 20th century, it draws energy from infinitesimal changes in ambient temperature, requiring no manual winding and no external power source. A fluctuation of just a single degree is sufficient to sustain its operation for days. It is a system that feels less engineered than elemental, transforming the invisible into the tangible.
Yet in its most complex expression - Calibre 590 - this mechanism becomes something far more ambitious. The Tellurium complication renders, in three-dimensional form, the intricate relationship between Earth, Moon and Sun. It traces the rotation of our planet, the orbit of the Moon and the progression of the seasons with astonishing accuracy. Its lunar indication is so precise that it will deviate by just one day over nearly 5,800 years - a scale of time that borders on the geological.
Marc Newson’s contribution is not to overwhelm this complexity, but to frame it with clarity. His design encases the mechanism within a perfectly formed glass sphere, engraved with constellations and set with over 500 sapphires. The effect is quietly mesmerising: a miniature universe, suspended in equilibrium, where mechanical motion becomes celestial choreography. What distinguishes this piece is not merely its technical accomplishment, but its perspective. In an era defined by immediacy, the Atmos Tellurium invites a longer view - one that stretches across centuries, even millennia. It is a reminder that time, in its truest sense, is not something to be managed, but something to be contemplated.

The majesty of the Monsieur
In the world of haute horlogerie, where symbolism often intertwines with technical mastery, few motifs carry the weight and resonance of the lion. A creature long associated with strength, sovereignty, and courage, it serves as a fitting centrepiece for one of the most striking contemporary expressions of watchmaking artistry: the Monsieur Lion Tourbillon.
This is not a watch that seeks to blend in. From the outset, it asserts its presence with a boldness that is both deliberate and refined. The lion, rendered with extraordinary detail, dominates the dial - its form sculpted with a level of craftsmanship that borders on the sculptural. Each contour, each line, speaks to hours of meticulous work, transforming precious materials into a living, breathing emblem.
The choice of the lion is far from arbitrary. In horological tradition, animals have often been used to convey deeper meanings, serving as allegories for the values embodied by the timepiece. Here, the lion becomes a symbol of mastery - not only over time, but over the craft itself. It represents the culmination of skill, patience, and vision required to bring such a creation to life.
Beneath this powerful visual lies one of watchmaking’s most revered complications: the tourbillon. Originally developed to counteract the effects of gravity on a watch’s accuracy, the tourbillon has evolved into a showcase of technical virtuosity. In the Monsieur Lion Tourbillon, it is integrated seamlessly into the overall design, becoming both a functional element and a focal point.
The interplay between the lion and the tourbillon is particularly compelling. As the cage rotates, it introduces a sense of movement that complements the static strength of the animal motif. The effect is almost hypnotic - a dynamic contrast between stillness and motion, power and precision.
The case itself is executed with equal care. Crafted from precious materials, it frames the dial in a manner that enhances rather than competes with its central design. Finishing techniques are applied with a discerning hand, ensuring that every surface contributes to the overall aesthetic harmony.
Attention to detail extends to the smallest components. The hands, indices, and even the typography are considered elements within a larger composition. Nothing feels incidental; every choice is intentional, reinforcing the watch’s identity as a cohesive work of art.
Yet, for all its visual impact, the Monsieur Lion Tourbillon remains grounded in the principles of fine watchmaking. The movement is assembled and finished to exacting standards, reflecting a commitment to quality that underpins the entire piece. It is this combination of artistic ambition and technical rigour that defines true haute horlogerie.
In a market increasingly saturated with limited editions and conceptual designs, the Monsieur Lion Tourbillon distinguishes itself through authenticity. It does not rely on novelty for its appeal; instead, it draws upon enduring symbols and time-honoured techniques, reinterpreted for a contemporary audience.
There is also an element of storytelling at play. The watch invites the wearer to engage with its narrative - to consider the meaning of the lion, the significance of the tourbillon, and the relationship between the two. In doing so, it transcends its function as a timekeeping device, becoming an object of reflection and expression.
For collectors, such pieces hold a particular allure. They offer not just mechanical excellence, but a sense of identity - a way to connect with the values and traditions that define the craft. Owning a watch like the Monsieur Lion Tourbillon is, in many ways, an act of appreciation: a recognition of the artistry and expertise that underpin its creation.
Ultimately, the watch stands as a celebration of what is possible when imagination and skill converge. It is a reminder that even in an age dominated by technology, there remains a place for objects that are crafted by hand, shaped by vision, and imbued with meaning.
In the quiet rhythm of its movement and the commanding presence of its design, the Monsieur Lion Tourbillon captures something essential about luxury: not merely the possession of something rare, but the experience of something extraordinary.

In the rarefied upper echelons of haute horlogerie, where technical virtuosity meets artistic audacity, few maisons operate with the same unrestrained imagination as Roger Dubuis. Since its founding in 1995, the Geneva-based manufacture has cultivated a reputation not merely for excellence, but for excess - of creativity, of complexity, and of conviction. It is a house that does not simply follow the codes of watchmaking; it rewrites them.
Now, with the unveiling of its Rarities programme, Roger Dubuis offers a compelling new chapter in that narrative -
one defined by individuality, intimacy, and the pursuit of the extraordinary. Conceived as a dedicated platform for the creation of unique and bespoke timepieces, Rarities represents a return to something deeply personal: the idea that a watch can be not just owned, but imagined into existence.
The inspiration for this initiative can be traced back to Roger Dubuis himself. Known for engraving the words “Just for Friends” on the casebacks of his earliest creations, the master watchmaker conceived his work as a dialogue with a select circle of connoisseurs - individuals who understood time not merely as
a measure, but as a medium of self-expression. The Rarities programme seeks to rekindle that spirit, inviting collectors into the creative process with unprecedented openness.
Hidden within the manufacture - on the third floor, behind an enigmatic red door - this atelier operates as a sanctuary for possibility. Here, watchmakers, engineers, and designers collaborate in close concert, translating personal visions into mechanical reality. Materials, complications, finishes, and artistic crafts are not prescribed, but chosen. The result is not a collection in the traditional sense, but a constellation of singular creations, each shaped by the desires of its future owner.
To illustrate the breadth and ambition of Rarities, the maison introduces the Excalibur Moonlight - a timepiece that feels less like an object and more like an experience. It is, at its core, a watch. Yet, to describe it solely in those terms would be to overlook its true intent: to transform the act of timekeeping into an act of contemplation.
The theme underpinning the Excalibur Moonlight is “Movements of the Sky,” an annual narrative explored by Roger Dubuis. Here, that concept is rendered with extraordinary depth, as the dial becomes a celestial stage upon which the Moon, stars, and zodiac constellations perform a continuous, hypnotic ballet.
At the centre of this cosmic theatre lies a tourbillon - long revered as one of watchmaking’s most prestigious complications. Yet, in typical Roger Dubuis fashion, it is not simply present; it is reimagined. Positioned centrally within the movement, the tourbillon becomes the axis around which the entire display revolves. This architectural choice necessitates a radical departure from convention: there is no room for traditional hands.
Instead, time is indicated via two rotating discs - one for the hours, the other for the minutescircling the tourbillon like planetary bodies. The effect is both technically ingenious and visually poetic. Reading the time becomes secondary to experiencing it, as the wearer’s gaze is drawn into a layered composition that unfolds across four distinct levels.

This innovation is not merely aesthetic; it is underpinned by significant mechanical advancement. The RD115 calibre, housed within a 45mm black DLC titanium case, incorporates a patented planetary gear train with differential - an ingenious system that ensures efficient energy transmission without compromising the torque required to sustain the tourbillon’s oscillations. Beating at 3 Hz and offering a 72-hour power reserve, the movement exemplifies the maison’s commitment to both performance and reliability.
A second patent addresses the challenge of time-setting in the absence of traditional hands. Here, Roger Dubuis introduces a push-button controlled clip-release system, allowing the rotating discs to be disengaged and adjusted with precision. It is a solution that speaks to the brand’s broader philosophy: that complexity, however daring, must remain intuitive.
Yet, for all its technical sophistication, the Excalibur Moonlight is perhaps most captivating in its artistic execution. The dial is a masterclass in métiers d’art, where materials and techniques are deployed with painterly sensitivity.
The hour and minute discs, crafted from translucent Muranotype glass, shimmer with a subtle luminescence. Across their surfaces, constellations are meticulously rendered, their names inscribed in fine luminescent script. The Moon itself is evoked through delicate motifs, while an engraved appliqué on the tourbillon cage recreates the texture of the lunar surface, rotating gently with each passing second.
This interplay of light and movement extends to the caseback, where a sapphire crystal has been laser-engraved with a field of stars. Each tiny cavity is hand-filled with luminescent material, creating a soft, ethereal glow in darkness - a private cosmos revealed only to the wearer.
Beyond its visual drama, the watch also offers an extraordinary level of personalisation. The barrel cover, visible through the caseback, can be customised with constellations positioned according to the owner’s birth date, transforming the movement into a deeply personal map of the heavens. It is a detail that encapsulates the ethos of Rarities: that no two pieces should ever be the same.
The movement itself is finished to the exacting standards required for the Poinçon de Genève, with 283 components adorned through 19 distinct decorative techniques. Perlage, anglage, Côtes de Genève, and circular graining coexist in a harmonious display of craftsmanship, each finish executed by hand. The architecture, with its cut-out bridges arranged in an arc, offers both visual lightness and structural integrity - a nod to the maison’s earliest designs, reinterpreted for a contemporary audience.
Completing the composition is a midnight blue calfskin strap, its architectural form echoing the bold geometry of the case. Interchangeable and secured by a three-blade folding clasp, it reinforces the sense that every element of the watch has been considered, refined, and resolved.
In many ways, the Excalibur Moonlight encapsulates the essence of Roger Dubuis: a brand unafraid to challenge convention, to embrace extravagance, and to pursue beauty in its most uncompromising forms. Yet, it also signals something more profound - a shift towards a more personal, more participatory vision of luxury.
Through the Rarities programme, the maison invites its clients not merely to acquire a watch, but to co-create one. It is an approach that resonates deeply in an era where individuality is increasingly prized, and where the true value of an object lies not just in its rarity, but in its meaning.
Projected into the stars, the Excalibur Moonlight is more than a demonstration of technical prowess or artistic flair. It is a reminder that, at its highest level, watchmaking is not simply about measuring time. It is about capturing imagination and giving it form with this manufacture continuing to operate in a universe entirely of its own making.
There are watches that tell time, and there are watches that carry it - across continents, through decades, and, on rare occasions, beyond the atmosphere itself. Few timepieces inhabit that latter category with the authority of Breitling’s Navitimer Cosmonaute. In its latest incarnation, the Navitimer Cosmonaute Artemis II, the storied Swiss manufacture revisits one of horology’s most romantic chapters: mankind’s first ventures into space, and the instruments that accompanied them.
The story begins not in a design studio, but in orbit. In 1962, astronaut Scott Carpenter orbited the Earth aboard the Aurora 7 spacecraft, wearing a custom Breitling Navitimer with a 24-hour dial - an essential modification for the disorienting absence of day and night in space. That watch became the first Swiss wristwatch worn in space, cementing Breitling’s place in the annals of both aviation and astronautics.
More than six decades later, the Navitimer Cosmonaute Artemis II emerges as both tribute and evolution. It is not merely a commemorative piece; it is a contemporary reimagining that channels the pioneering spirit of its predecessor while embracing modern engineering and design refinement.
At first glance, the watch is unmistakably Navitimer. The iconic circular slide rule - once an indispensable tool for pilots calculating fuel consumption, airspeed, and distance - remains intact, encircling the dial like a halo of precision. Yet, here it feels almost ceremonial, a reminder of a time when navigation was as much art as science. In an age dominated by digital instrumentation, the analogue complexity of the slide rule carries a certain poetic weight.
The Artemis II edition distinguishes itself through subtle yet impactful aesthetic cues. The dial, rendered in a deep, cosmic black, evokes the infinite expanse of space. Contrasting subdials offer clarity while adding depth, their layout carefully balanced to preserve legibility. The 24-hour scale, a defining feature of the Cosmonaute lineage, is executed with meticulous attention, ensuring intuitive reading even in the most unconventional environments.
The case, crafted in stainless steel, strikes a harmonious balance between robustness and elegance. Measuring a confident diameter, it wears with presence but avoids
breitling.com
ostentation - an important consideration for a watch rooted in functionality. Polished and brushed finishes interplay across its surfaces, catching the light in a way that feels both contemporary and timeless.
Inside, the movement reflects Breitling’s ongoing commitment to chronometric excellence. Certified as a chronometer, it offers precision that aligns with the demands of both aviation professionals and discerning collectors. Yet, beyond its technical credentials, it is the movement’s symbolic resonance that elevates it: a mechanical heart beating steadily, much like the human spirit that first dared to venture into space.
The connection to NASA’s Artemis programme - an ambitious initiative aimed at returning humans to the Moon and eventually reaching Mars - adds a compelling modern narrative. While the watch itself is not a piece of official equipment, its naming and conceptual framing position it within a broader cultural moment: a renewed fascination with exploration, discovery, and the unknown.
In this context, the Navitimer Cosmonaute Artemis II becomes more than a watch; it is an artefact of aspiration. It speaks to a lineage of explorers - pilots, astronauts, engineers - who have relied on precision instruments to navigate uncharted territories. At the same time, it resonates with a new generation captivated by the possibilities of space travel, from lunar missions to commercial spaceflight.
What sets this piece apart is its ability to bridge these worlds. It honours its heritage without becoming trapped by it, offering a design that feels relevant rather than retrospective. The result is a watch that appeals equally to seasoned collectors and those newly drawn to the romance of mechanical horology.
Ultimately, the Navitimer Cosmonaute Artemis II is a study in continuity. It carries forward a legacy that began in the cockpit and extended into orbit, now finding renewed expression in an era defined by technological advancement and boundless curiosity. In doing so, it reminds us that while tools may evolve, the human desire to explore - to push beyond known horizons - remains constant.
And in that pursuit, time, as ever, is both companion and measure.

At Hermès, time is never treated as a purely technical construct. Instead, it is approached as a medium - one through which craftsmanship, imagination and narrative can be expressed with quiet sophistication.
The maison’s latest horological offering, Mysterious Mechanisms, represents a further evolution of this philosophy. It is not a collection in the conventional sense, but rather a thematic exploration - a study of how the inner workings of a watch can be revealed, reinterpreted and ultimately transformed into a form of visual storytelling.
Central to this exploration is the art of skeletonisation. Traditionally employed to showcase the complexity of a movement, it is here elevated into a language in its own right. Bridges, gears and oscillating components are not simply exposed, but composed - arranged in a way that invites the eye to travel through the structure of time.
In the Hermès H08, this approach results in a form that is both architectural and graphic. Its distinctive case - somewhere
hermes.com
between round and square - frames a movement that appears almost suspended within space. Lines dissolve, components overlap, and the boundaries between structure and void become fluid.
Elsewhere, the Arceau Samarcande introduces a more poetic dimension. A horse’s head - a recurring motif within Hermès’ heritage - is carved into the dial, its form revealing the movement beneath. It is a gesture that speaks to the maison’s equestrian roots, while simultaneously transforming the watch into an object of narrative depth.
The Slim d’Hermès Squelette Lune extends this exploration into the realm of celestial time, tracing lunar cycles across both hemispheres. Here, time is not linear, but cyclical - a rhythm that mirrors the natural world.
In Mysterious Mechanisms, Hermès invites the wearer to reconsider their relationship with time. Not as something to be read at a glance, but as something to be observed, explored and experienced.

There are watches designed for admiration, and there are those conceived for survival. Panerai has long occupied the latter category, its identity forged not in boutiques or boardrooms, but in the demanding, unforgiving conditions of naval operations. From its earliest collaborations with the Italian Navy to its modern-day manufacture in Neuchâtel, the maison has remained unwavering in its pursuit of function-first watchmaking - where performance is not a feature, but a necessity.
The Submersible GMT PAM01495 represents the latest and perhaps most compelling articulation of this philosophy. It is a watch that does not merely reference Panerai’s heritage; it actively extends it, pushing the boundaries of material science, mechanical ingenuity, and real-world usability. At once bold in presence and rigorous in purpose, it stands as a contemporary instrument engineered for extremes.
At the heart of the watch lies a fundamental tension - one that Panerai has mastered with increasing confidence. How does one reconcile the visual allure of a skeletonised movement with the uncompromising demands of a professional diving instrument? The answer, in this instance, is both technical and philosophical: by refusing to compromise either.
Encased within a formidable 47mm structure, the PAM01495 immediately asserts its intent. Yet, despite its commanding proportions, the watch achieves a surprising sense of lightness, thanks to the use of Titanium DMLS (Direct Metal Laser Sintering). This advanced manufacturing technique, pioneered by Panerai within the watchmaking sphere, involves the layer-by-layer construction of the case from Grade 5 titanium powder. The result is a structure that is not only robust, but intelligently hollowed - featuring internal cavities that reduce weight without sacrificing strength.
As detailed in the technical overview, this approach renders the case approximately 25 per cent lighter than traditional titanium constructions, and significantly lighter than steel, while maintaining exceptional resistance to corrosion - a critical consideration in marine environments. The sandblasted finish reinforces the toolwatch aesthetic, while the matte blue ceramic bezel introduces a subtle note of refinement.
Yet, it is the movement that truly defines the character of this piece. The P.4001/S calibre, visible in full through its skeletonised architecture, represents a study in both complexity and clarity. Comprising 341 components and incorporating two patented innovations, it is designed to deliver advanced functionality without compromising legibility - a challenge that has historically plagued open-worked watches.
Central to this achievement is the patented polarised date display. Traditional date discs, by their very nature, obscure the movement beneath them. Panerai’s solution is elegantly simple yet technically demanding: a date display that remains virtually invisible across the dial, revealing itself only at the moment it is required. It is a subtle innovation, but one that speaks volumes about the maison’s attention to detail.
Functionality is further enhanced by the inclusion of a GMT complication, allowing the wearer to track a second time zone with ease. The orange GMT handchosen for its exceptional visibility against both water and sky - serves as a reminder of Panerai’s maritime roots, where clarity can be a matter of safety rather than style. An accompanying AM/PM indicator ensures intuitive reading, while a patented jumping-hour mechanism allows for rapid adjustment when crossing time zones.
Precision, too, is treated with the seriousness it deserves. A seconds reset function, inspired by military specifications, enables exact synchronisation with a reference time - a detail that underscores the watch’s origins as a professional instrument.
Powering these functions is a micro-rotor system, strategically positioned offcentre to preserve the openness of the movement. This configuration not only enhances visual appeal but also contributes to a slimmer profile. Twin barrels provide a robust 72-hour power reserve, monitored via an indicator discreetly positioned on the caseback - a thoughtful decision that keeps the dial uncluttered and focused.
Indeed, legibility remains a central concern throughout. Despite its skeletonised construction, the watch retains the clarity expected of a true diving instrument. The applied indexes and hands, treated with Super-LumiNova®, emit a dual-colour glow - blue for critical timing elements such as the minute hand and bezel, and green for all other indicators. This distinction ensures that essential information can be read instantly, even in the most challenging conditions.
panerai.com
The watch’s maritime heritage is further expressed through the distinctive grid motif integrated into the movement - a subtle reference to the nets historically used to secure naval vessels. It is a detail that may go unnoticed at first glance, but rewards closer inspection, reinforcing the narrative embedded within the design.
Of course, a watch of this nature must ultimately prove itself not in theory, but in practice. To this end, the PAM01495 undergoes an exhaustive testing regime, as outlined in the documentation. Each component is individually inspected before assembly, while completed watches are subjected to rigorous water-resistance testing, including exposure to pressures exceeding their rated 50 bar (approximately 500 metres). This additional 25 per cent safety margin ensures reliability under conditions that far exceed typical use.
The process is meticulous, involving vacuum testing, prolonged immersion, and thermal shock assessments designed to reveal even the slightest imperfection. It is an approach that reflects Panerai’s broader philosophy: that true luxury lies not in decoration, but in dependability.
Completing the ensemble is a blue rubber strap, chosen for its durability and comfort in aquatic environments, alongside an additional bi-material strap for versatility. Presentation, too, is considered, with the watch delivered in a lacquered blue cherry wood box - a nod to the maison’s Italian heritage, where craftsmanship extends beyond the object itself.
Yet, beyond its specifications and innovations, the Submersible GMT PAM01495 embodies something more intangible. It represents a continuity of purpose - a line that can be traced from the clandestine workshops of early 20th-century Florence to the high-tech laboratories of modern Switzerland. It is a reminder that, for Panerai, progress is not about reinvention, but refinement.
In an era where many luxury watches are designed primarily for display, the PAM01495 stands apart. It is unapologetically functional, resolutely engineered, and deeply rooted in a history where failure was not an option. And in that context, its appeal becomes clear.
This is not a watch that seeks attention. It demands respect. And in the silent, pressurised depths where it is most at home, that distinction matters more than ever.

In the quiet town of Glashütte, where the rhythms of watchmaking have long been measured not in minutes but in generations, A. Lange & Söhne continues to pursue a singular ideal: perfection, pursued without compromise. It is a philosophy rooted in Saxon precision, shaped by history, and refined through an unwavering commitment to craftsmanship. With the introduction of the Cabaret Tourbillon Honeygold, the manufacture once again demonstrates its ability to transform mechanical complexity into something approaching art.
This latest creation is, at first glance, an exercise in restraint. Its rectangular form - distinct within a landscape dominated by round cases - offers a sense of architectural clarity, a departure from convention that has defined the Cabaret line since its debut in 1997. Yet beneath this measured exterior lies a watch of profound technical and aesthetic ambition, limited to just 50 pieces and crafted almost entirely from one of the maison’s most distinctive materials: honeygold.
Developed exclusively by A. Lange & Söhne, honeygold occupies a unique position within the spectrum of precious metals. Its hue - warmer than traditional yellow gold, yet more subdued than rose - carries a soft, almost luminous quality.
It is a material that resists easy categorisation, much like the watch it encases. On the wrist, it exudes a quiet confidence, its understated radiance revealing itself gradually, rather than demanding immediate attention.
The interplay between this warm-toned case and the blackrhodiumed dial is central to the watch’s identity. As described in the release imagery on page one, the dial presents a striking contrast: a dark, almost velvety surface punctuated by raised elements that catch the light with remarkable precision. These relief features - meticulously sculpted from the dial itself - create a subtle three-dimensionality, lending depth and texture to an otherwise restrained composition.
The process by which this dial is created is, in itself, a testament to Lange’s mastery. Comprising three separate components - the main dial and two subsidiary displays for seconds and power reserve - it undergoes a series of painstaking steps that span several weeks. Each scale, inscription, and frame is carved directly from the honeygold base, achieving a relief height of just 0.15 millimetres. It is a detail so fine as to be almost imperceptible, yet it defines the character of the entire piece.

Following this sculptural phase, the dial is treated with black rhodium, before the raised elements are carefully polished by hand to reveal the underlying gold. The effect is one of emergence: the honeygold appears to rise through the darkness, its surfaces catching the light with a quiet brilliance. Roman numerals and lozenge-shaped hour markers are then applied individually, completing a composition that feels both intricate and harmonious.
Yet, as with all Lange creations, the dial serves not merely as a canvas, but as an introduction to the mechanics beneath. At six o’clock, an aperture reveals the tourbillon - arguably the most poetic of horological complications. Here, it is presented with characteristic restraint, framed by a finely finished bridge whose surface has been treated using one of the most demanding techniques in watchmaking: black polish.
This finish, achieved through the careful abrasion of the metal against a tin plate using specialised pastes, results in a surface that appears mirror-like from certain angles, yet transforms into a deep, inky black from others. It is a technique that requires not only skill, but patience - each component must be worked by hand, with even the slightest variation in pressure capable of altering the final result.
The tourbillon itself carries a significance that extends beyond its visual appeal. First introduced by A. Lange & Söhne in the Cabaret Tourbillon of 2008, it was here that the manufacture unveiled the world’s first stop-seconds mechanism for a tourbillon - a breakthrough that allowed the complication to be set with one-second accuracy. While such precision is taken for granted in conventional watches, achieving it within the constantly rotating architecture of a tourbillon presented a formidable challenge.
The solution, as detailed in the technical description on page three, lies in an arresting spring capable of halting the balance regardless of its position. It is a deceptively simple concept, executed with extraordinary precision, and one that continues to define Lange’s approach to innovation: not for its own sake, but in service of usability.
Turning the watch over reveals a movement that is no less compelling. The manually wound calibre L042.1, visible through the sapphire caseback, is tailored to the rectangular
proportions of the case - a rarity in an industry where most movements remain resolutely round. Measuring 22.3 by 32.6 millimetres, it fills the case with a sense of purpose, its architecture echoing the geometry of the exterior.
Comprising 370 components, including 84 dedicated to the tourbillon alone, the movement is a showcase of traditional finishing techniques. The three-quarter plate, crafted from untreated German silver, is adorned with Glashütte ribbing, while blued screws, gold chatons, and hand-engraved cocks contribute to a composition that is as visually rich as it is mechanically complex. The ratchet wheel, finished with solarisation, adds a final flourish - its radiating pattern catching the light with subtle dynamism.
Despite this complexity, the movement offers a remarkable degree of practicality. Twin mainspring barrels deliver a power reserve of 120 hours, ensuring that the watch remains operational across extended periods of wear. A power-reserve indicator on the dial provides a clear indication of remaining energy, while the outsize date - a Lange signature - adds a further layer of functionality.
The proportions of the case - 29.5 by 39.2 millimetres, with a height of just 10.3 millimetres - strike a delicate balance between presence and elegance. Paired with a darkbrown alligator leather strap and secured by a honeygold prong buckle, the watch wears with a refined confidence, its rectangular silhouette offering a distinctive alternative to more conventional designs.
In many respects, the Cabaret Tourbillon Honeygold encapsulates the essence of A. Lange & Söhne. It is a watch that does not seek to impress through excess, but through execution. Every detail, from the sculpted dial to the meticulously finished movement, reflects a philosophy that values depth over display, substance over spectacle.
Limited to just 50 pieces, it is, by definition, a rarity. Yet its true significance lies not in its scarcity, but in what it represents: a continuation of a tradition that has, for over a century, defined the highest standards of watchmaking.
Perfectly formed in honeygold, it is a reminder that true luxury is not simply created - it is cultivated, refined, and, ultimately, perfected.

CHANEL’S NŒUD DE CAMÉLIA AND THE ART OF SECRET TIME

In the rarefied intersection where haute couture meets haute horlogerie, Chanel has long occupied a singular position - one defined not by tradition alone, but by transformation. The house of Gabrielle Chanel has never approached watchmaking as a purely technical discipline. Instead, it has treated time as a material to be shaped, concealed, and adorned, much like silk, gold, or diamonds. With the unveiling of the Nœud de Camélia collection, Chanel once again reaffirms this philosophy, offering a series of creations that blur the boundaries between jewellery, fashion, and horology.
At its heart, the collection is an ode to one of Gabrielle Chanel’s most enduring symbols: the camellia. A flower she adopted in 1913, drawn to its perfect symmetry and lack of scent, the camellia became a signature motif - worn by dandies in buttonholes and later reinterpreted by Chanel as a statement of understated elegance. Its purity of form, combined with the stark contrast of white against black, encapsulated the designer’s aesthetic vision: simplicity elevated to sophistication.
In Nœud de Camélia, this emblem is reimagined through the lens of contemporary craftsmanship. The collection - comprising four wristwatches and a secret ring - translates the camellia into a sculptural language, where each petal, curve, and contour is rendered with extraordinary precision. Yet, this is not merely a matter of design. It is a dialogue between disciplines, where the métiers d’art of watchmaking, jewellery, and couture converge to create something entirely new.
Central to this dialogue is the notion of concealment. These are “secret” watches in the truest sense - timepieces whose dials are hidden beneath layers of ornamentation, revealed only through an intimate gesture. It is a concept that speaks to Chanel’s enduring
fascination with mystery and allure. Time, in this context, is not displayed for all to see; it is reserved for the wearer, a private luxury in an increasingly public world.
The architectural quality of the collection is immediately striking. As suggested in the release imagery, the camellia is not simply depicted, but constructed - its form translated into volumes that rise and fall across the wrist. Gold is worked with a tactile richness, echoing the texture of grosgrain ribbon, while diamonds are set with a virtuosity that transforms light into movement. Each surface interacts with its surroundings, catching and reflecting illumination in a way that feels almost alive.
This interplay of materials is further enriched by the involvement of Chanel’s renowned maisons d’art. The bracelet of one piece, for instance, is embroidered with sequins by Lesage, the legendary atelier whose expertise has long defined the decorative language of haute couture. Here, that savoir-faire is transposed onto the wrist, creating a textile-like surface that blurs the line between garment and jewel.
Such collaborations are emblematic of Chanel’s approach to craftsmanship. Rather than isolating disciplines, the house brings them into conversation, allowing techniques traditionally associated with fashion to inform the language of watchmaking. The result is a collection that feels both cohesive and expansive, rooted in heritage yet unbound by convention.

essence of Nœud de Camélia into a more intimate form. Worn close to the hand, it transforms the act of timekeeping into a gesture of discretion - a fleeting moment of revelation that exists solely for the wearer.
The use of contrast - a hallmark of Chanel’s visual identity - plays a defining role throughout. White camellias set against black surfaces, diamonds against darkened gold, light against shadow. This duality creates a dynamic tension, drawing the eye and enhancing the sculptural qualities of each piece. It is a reminder that, for Chanel, design is not static, but alive with interplay and nuance.
Yet, for all its visual drama, the Nœud de Camélia collection remains grounded in the principles of fine watchmaking. Beneath the decorative surfaces lie precise mechanical movements, discreetly integrated to ensure reliability and performance. The watches may conceal their function, but they do not compromise it - a balance that speaks to the house’s understanding of true luxury.
There is also an inherent sense of storytelling within the collection. Each piece can be seen as a chapter in a broader narrative - one that traces the evolution of the camellia from a simple flower to a symbol of identity. In this transformation, Chanel captures something essential about its own history: the ability to take the familiar and render it extraordinary.
The inclusion of a secret ring within the collection further underscores this narrative. Compact yet intricate, it distils the
In an era where visibility often equates to value, Chanel’s decision to conceal time feels almost radical. It challenges the notion that luxury must be immediately apparent, instead proposing that its greatest pleasures lie in subtlety and discovery.
The Nœud de Camélia collection does not seek to announce itself; it invites closer inspection, rewarding those who take the time to engage with its details.
This philosophy extends to the broader context of Chanel’s watchmaking. By positioning its creations at the crossroads of couture and horology, the house continues to redefine what a watch can be. It is not merely an instrument, nor solely an ornament, but a synthesis of both - an object that exists as much in the realm of emotion as it does in function.
Ultimately, the Nœud de Camélia collection stands as a testament to Chanel’s enduring vision. It is a celebration of craftsmanship, creativity, and the power of symbols to transcend time. In its sculptural forms and hidden mechanisms, it captures the essence of a brand that has always understood luxury not as a statement, but as an experience.
And in that quiet, intimate revelation of time - glimpsed beneath a diamond, concealed within a camellia - Chanel reminds us that the most precious moments are often those that are seen by few, and felt by one.

Now available at Dr David Jack’s new Liberty clinic, the PDRN Salmon Sperm Reset Facial is rapidly becoming one of the most sought-after treatments in the world of advanced skincare. Originating from South Korea’s renowned beauty industry where it has been a mainstay of regenerative “glass skin” treatments for decades, this advanced facial utilises Polydeoxyribonucleotide (PDRN), sourced from salmon sperm DNA to revitalise and reset skin that is fatigued, ageing or damaged.
PDRN DNA closely matches human DNA and is a naturally occurring molecule renowned for its remarkable ability to promote cell growth and accelerate tissue repair. It acts as a biostimulant, activating receptors in the skin that signal cells to repair themselves and produce new collagen and elastin. When applied during a facial, PDRN penetrates the skin’s surface, stimulating collagen production, boosting cellular turnover and enhancing moisture retention. Skin appears firmer, plumper and more radiant, with visible reduction in fine lines, pigmentation, and scars.
The process itself is both luxurious and scientifically grounded. The Dr David Jack’s Salmon Sperm Reset Facial begins with a deep cleanse and a multi-phase peel to remove dead cells. A concentrated PDRN serum is then applied, aided by microneedling to maximise absorption. This allows the active ingredient to reach the deeper layers of the skin, where it can get to work repairing micro-damage and supporting the skin’s natural healing mechanisms. A calming mask and LED light therapy is then used to reduce redness and lock in hydration. Complexion looks refreshed and luminous immediately after the treatment. What sets the PDRN Salmon Sperm Reset Facial apart is its suitability for a wide range of skin types and concerns. Whether you’re hoping to address the early signs of ageing, recover from environmental stressors, or simply restore your skin’s natural glow, this treatment offers a gentle yet effective solution. Importantly, it involves minimal downtime making it an ideal choice for those with busy lifestyles.
Treatment starts at £350 per session

The neck is typically one of the first areas to show signs of ageing, mainly because the skin here is relatively thin and contains fewer oil glands. So, if you’ve started to notice horizontal lines across your neck often referred to as “tech neck” or if your skin is beginning to look crepey, thin or less firm, Sculptra by Galdema may be an option worth considering.
Galdema is a leading Swiss pharmaceutical company specialising in advanced injectable aesthetics, skincare, and therapeutic dermatology products tailored to individual needs. Sculptra launched twenty-five years ago and is a biocompatible poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) injectable used off-label to rejuvenate the neck by stimulating natural collagen production. Collagen, a fibrous protein, is crucial for maintaining the skin’s structure and shape and it plays a key role in defending against wrinkles and sagging. Sculptra is notable as the first clinically validated regenerative biostimulator and has since been used in millions of treatments worldwide. Its versatility makes it highly regarded and it works by effectively lifting the skin and enhancing overall

skin quality.
Throughout life both internal and external factors contribute to changes in our skin. These include lifestyle choices such as smoking and prolonged sun exposure, as well as the natural decline of collagen and elastin. “Tech neck” lines frequently develop prematurely due to constant downward gazing at electronic devices causing horizontal creases which intensify quickly over time.
Superficial treatments often provide only temporary results, but Sculptra mitigates these lines by stimulating the body to produce new collagen within the deeper dermal layers, resulting in increased thickness and elasticity. Weakened regions of the neck’s dermis are addressed and deep or multiple creases are made smoother, elevating resistance to daily bending and by reconstructing foundational support, it affords longer-lasting improvements. This reinforcement strengthens the tissue that supports the skin and works to improve the structure beneath. Improvements continue to develop gradually over time, reducing
pronounced folding and creasing on the neck. With enhanced elasticity, the skin has a more smooth, uniform texture and the strengthened collagen network contributes to firmer, resilient skin resulting in a naturally youthful and sustained appearance.
Unlike traditional fillers, Sculptra is a regenerative injectable that offers multiple benefits. With minimal downtime you can enjoy these improvements without worrying about lengthy recovery times, making it an easy addition to your self-care routine. It is the boutique, couples-only counterpart: a low-key enclave designed for romance and rest, with full access to Coconut Bay’s wider line-up of restaurants and bars whenever you want a change of scene.
Serenity at Coconut Bay Beach Resort & Spa, PO Box 246, Vieux Fort, Saint Lucia

Opulent suites range from 1200 to 1900 square feet and are beautifully decorated with local rock, granite and mahogany. With the focus on indoor–outdoor living, all suites feature French doors which open onto a private deck with waterfall plunge pool, sun loungers, a hammock for two and an outdoor bar area which is fully stocked and replenished daily. Inside you’ll find a custom mahogany four-poster king size bed, oversized soaking tub and walk-in rain shower. Refreshing Moulton Brown luxury toiletries and aromatherapy oils are available to make your stay even more perfect while you unwind in your soft bathrobes and slippers.
The resort’s calling card is its impeccable butler service - intuitive, unshowy and available around the clock. From arranging spa appointments to delivering gourmet in-suite dining via the personal “meal box” situated at your own private entrance, your butler will arrange everything - right down to running a petal-strewn bath each day and leaving you a little treat to enjoy whilst having a soak. With 24-hour room service the options are endless. This hotel is ideal for those who don’t wish to be disturbed.
Days revolve around Serenity’s tranquil central pool - designed for grown-up lounging, with shaded cabanas, in-water loungers and

poolside service. Retreat to a private cabana after taking a cooling dip in the Serenity pool. Alternatively, there are five resort pools next door in Coconut Bay Beach Resort & Spa as well as a waterpark which has a lazy river where you can sit back in a doughnut and relax whilst meandering around the various twists and turns.
When you’re ready to roam, golf-cart rides connect you to the beach, the spa, and the broader Coconut Bay facilities which are complimentary to Serenity guests. At Coconut Bay guests can enjoy additional pools and a bigger mix of casual restaurants and cocktail spots.
Wellness is woven into the stay, whether that’s a massage on your own deck or a full afternoon at the award-winning Coconut Bay Beach Resort & Spa. Kai Mer (meaning House by the Sea) includes eight oceanfront treatment rooms with showers offering private cabanas by day - or by moonlight - alongside facilities including saunas, steam rooms and relaxation areas. For a breezier, open-air reset, pamper yourself with a treatment from the spa menu which uses local organic and essential oils or share your relaxation with a couples massage. Many of the body treatments are designed to
reflect the culture of the Caribbean using a blend of herbs and minerals indigenous to the area. For those who appreciate privacy, you can indulge in something in-suite at an extra charge.
For beach lovers, Serenity’s breezy oceanfront cabanas are designed with freshwater showers, a signature daybed and lounge chairs. Your butler will transport you via golf cart and prepare your cabana with a cooler filled with your choice of beverages, fresh towels, a picnic lunch or a fresh fruit platter and snacks. Beachfront cabanas can be rented and reserved by your butler for half- or fullday and are for the exclusive use of Serenity guests.
At the heart of Serenity is The Greathouse, a locally inspired restaurant that pairs the romance of a grand Saint Lucian house with chef-led, ingredient-driven cooking. Built in the style of an opulent mansion, local produce features heavily alongside signature dishes and reimagined classics such as Grilled Whole Lobster and Caesar Salad. Choose to dine indoors in air-conditioned comfort under vaulted ceilings and handcrafted chandeliers or outdoors on the Greathouse patio looking out on the changing colours of the Serenity Pool, beautifully situated for meals under the stars.

An extensive international wine list and top-shelf cocktails including the resort’s secret recipe ‘Jonathan’s Special’ (named after the mixologist who created it) and premium spirits are available to complement your choices. For slower mornings or starry nights, your butler can set up a gourmet patio meal by the plunge pool or arrange discreet delivery when you’d rather not be disturbed. Serenity guests can also dip into Coconut Bay’s broader culinary circuit which has an additional eight restaurants and seven bars - ideal if you want to mix fine dining with more casual bites.
Evenings at Serenity keep the same softly glamorous, grown-up rhythm as the days. Expect low-key live music, Sweetini Singing at the piano bar and chef-led events that pair beautifully with dinner at The Greathouse and pool. Intimate, nightly live music, themed nights like sociable Rum & Food tasting, and curated experiences like champagne and chocolate nights as well as lively Caribbean Carnival nights featuring fire dancers are all included. If you fancy more buzz, a quick golf-cart ride opens up Coconut Bay’s wider programme of nightly entertainment, from main stage performances, lobby jazz and karaoke to bigger themed pool-deck nights.

Serenity makes it easy to tailor the island to your mood. Your butler (and the Coconut Bay adventure desk) can stitch together everything from unhurried beach time to headline-making day trips. For a classic sea day, set sail on a catamaran along the west coast for snorkelling stops at the base of the world-famous Pitons - an effortless way to see Saint Lucia’s most iconic scenery from the water. Prefer a greatest-hits blend? Choose a “land and sea” adventure that sets sail from Laborie up the west coast of St Lucia to the town of Soufriere, home of the majestic Pitons and the Soufriere Sulphur Springs, the world’s only drive-in volcano. The catamaran heads to two swim stops along the coast of Soufriere where you can have a snorkel between the Pitons. After a tasty buffet lunch at The Beacon local restaurant, guests can experience the drive-in volcano and a visit to the Sulphur Springs for a rejuvenating mud bath, plus time for a dip beneath Torraile Waterfall.
For something quietly cinematic, horseback riding at Atlantic Shores Riding Stables allows you to explore the majestic beauty of St Lucia along the Atlantic shoreline which delivers stunning views at a slower pace. Enjoy the breathtaking landscape, savannah paths, secluded sea cliffs and stretches of sand as the Atlantic Ocean winds blow effortlessly through your hair.
However you spend your days, the mood back at Serenity stays consistent: intimate, polished and deeply relaxing - an adults-only hideaway with the scale of a boutique hotel, backed by the breadth of Coconut Bay next door.
For a 7-night stay in Serenity (excluding flights), rates start from £3,307 per person for stays 1 July-30 August.

Toasty warm scones arrive with Dorset clotted cream, while patisserie balances freshness and depth, including coconut cheesecake with passion fruit and a dark chocolate ganache sphere with cocoa nib crumble. In line with evolving tastes, Saicho sparkling tea offers a refined alcohol-free pairing, while vegan and gluten-free menus have been developed with equal care. At just £55.00 per person, served daily, the new menu offers a thoughtful alternative those looking for a more tea led experience.
While there is no formal dinner service, room service is available and The Adria has paired with the best local dining establishments to enable guests to order whatever they like, whenever they like. From local Italians and pizzerias to Asian delicacies from Nobu and neighbouring Michelin-starred menus, just call your butler to order in and enjoy. In a peaceful location, opposite Kensington Palace and Gardens and just moments from the bustle of High Street Kensington, The Milestone Hotel & Residences. Filled with warmth, art and timeless elegance, the hotel is a welcome sanctuary in the capital.
More than just a five-star hotel, the Milestone Hotel & Residences is housed in Grade II listed building with a illustrious history stretching back over 300 years. Two 19th-century townhouse houses have been carefully restored to showcase and preserve their grandeur while also embracing 21st century elegance and service.
Artwork adorns the walls - showcasing the lavish history of the buildings. Originally a grand private residence dating back to 1883 - 1885, The Milestone was originally home to nobles, diplomats, and dignitaries. Converted into a hotel in 1922, the property was sensitively restored following a fire in 1991, with its original façade and roof preserved. It became part of the Red Carnation Hotels collection in 1998, continuing its legacy of elegance and hospitality.
Rich interiors, quiet luxury in the form of intuitive service and a legacy of hospitality make the Milestone a lavish retreat. Many staff members have been with the hotel for decades, offering service defined by warmth, experience and genuine care. Managing Director, Andrew Pike has led The Milestone for over 20 years. Guests are not just remembered, they are understood. Every stay is uniquely tailored, with each detail thoughtfully anticipated. Each of the 43 guest rooms and 13 suites have their own personality with carefully chosen furnishings, fresh flowers, modern amenities and like, the rest of the hotel rare artworks.
The suites in particular boast their own distinct character, filled with curated artworks and sumptuous prints. From the Noel Coward Suite, with its art deco touches and antiques, to the Hermès Suite, featuring custom-made furniture and a romantic balcony, each one is different, further ensuring no stay is the same at the personable hotel. The huge Harlequin Junior Suite is inspired by 15th century pantomime and features a predominantly black-and-white colour scheme with French diamond quartered bedside tables. Interconnecting family rooms, a warm welcome for dogs, and accessible options are also all available offering flexibility for multi-generational families and modern travellers.
Located in the heart of Kensington, directly opposite Kensington Palace with unrivalled views across the gardens. The hotel is mere steps from the Royal Albert Hall and worldclass shopping in Knightsbridge and Notting Hill, making it perfect for weekend visitors to the capital or city staycations alike, the hotel offers a range of exclusive experiences from royal jewel viewings and portrait sittings to private fashion tours and shopping excursions.
For longer stays, The Milestone’s six private residences offer the privacy of home with the luxury service of a five-star hotel. All include kitchens, living areas, and full access to hotel amenities.
Part of Red Carnation Hotels, a family-owned collection of 16 exceptional properties across the UK, Ireland, Europe, and Africa, each a living story rich in character and deeply rooted in its local surroundings, The Milestone Hotel and Residences, is, like the rest of the brand, deeply committed to sustainability. to net-zero emissions. From trusted local suppliers and thriving kitchen gardens to community-led and dedicated guest Impact Experiences, every step reflects care for people and place. With AI-powered food waste reduction, targeted carbon goals, and biodiversity initiatives, the aim is to showcase that true luxury is a promise to the planet and to future generations.
Dining in the hotel couldn't be easier. Ideal for a relaxing afternoon tea, the Park Lounge is a traditional drawing room that's perfect for a quiet afternoon. Cheneston’s Restaurant offers elegant British seasonal dining with two AA Rosettes, and features a dedicated à la carte and tasting menus.

Highlight dishes include Bea Tollman's Chicken and Bacon Pot Pie, and Fillet of Beef with Alsace bacon, pearl onion and Hen of the Woods.
Beside it, The Oratory is an atmospheric dining room that was once a chapel. Today, it is London’s most exclusive and romantic dining venue, complete with a wedding license.
The hotel's latest offering however, is newly renovated The Stables Bar & Hideaway. Serving an array of innovative cocktails including the Blue Cheese Martini with Broken Clock Vodka and fat washed blue cheese; PB&J Fizz with Chairman’s Reserve Rum, Peanut Butter, and fruity Raspberry Lemonade; and the Milestone Old Fashioned.
The intimate space, named after the purpose it once served, is panelled with dark wood, sporting sophisticated leather and tartan-clad soft furnishings and paintings from Belgian sporting artist Elie Lambert. Refined and relaxed, green leather banquettes and moodily lit corners contrast beautifully with the natural light that streams into the high-ceilinged conservatory space. Enjoy a pre or post dinner cocktail, alongside a range of bar bites and plates for some sociable dining.
Elsewhere and exclusively for hotel guests and members, The Milestone’s new Wellness Club boasts an exclusive partnership with Repose Space and features an infrared sauna, cold water immersion, resistance plunge pool, fitness studio, and treatment room with a resident spa therapist.
The beautifully appointed treatment suite is where the talented resident therapist, Jana Watson, brings her extraordinary breadth of knowledge to life. Her signature therapies - including gentle lymphatic drainage to rebalance and detoxify, the Traveller’s Reawakening ritual to combat jet lag, fatigue and restore vitality, and the deeply soothing acupressure foot treatment - reflect her intuitive, movement-focused approach that guests travel from around the world to experience. By personalising her treatments and drawing on her wealth of expertise from her years of experience in the wellness field and background of osteopathy, Jana can create not just a relaxing experience but also an insightful one, better acquainting you with your body and any problems you may have with pain or tension.
Membership is ideal for local residents in the surrounding area as not only does it allow private access to the entire club but also unlocks far more than facilities: it offers a sense of calm, exclusivity, and belonging at a time when people are craving spaces free from digital noise and flooded calendars.

Following the popularity of locations at Tottenham Court Road and Battersea Power Station, Arcade has opened up a new site in Covent Garden. Offering 385 covers across a single floor, bringing together two standalone restaurants, a central dining space hosting multiple Arcade brands, a brand-new bar, a listening bar and coffee concept, and a dedicated Manna counter, Arcade Covent Garden is the most ambitious destination for the brand yet.
Each Arcade features a curated mix of restaurants, bars and counterstyle kitchens in immersive, design-led spaces where food, music and experience come together. The new location on Bedford Street is no different, and is also home to a chef-led Greek-Cypriot taverna and an exciting new Mexican taqueria concept bringing bold flavours and a fresh sense of energy.
Once a Victorian boot-lacing factory, and a place where a young Charles Dickens worked, the redesign of the building has taken inspiration from Covent Garden's layered past: its marketplace energy, industrial character, and theatrical spirit. Established Arcade brands taking centre stage at the new venue include Solis - South American chicken and steak grill from Tata Eatery's Ana Goncalves and Zijun
Meng; Gracey's - The family run pizza joint inspired by New York and New Haven pizza with a modern twist, by Grace Surman and James Woodley; Hero - North Indian fast-food kitchen celebrating the flavours of Indian street food; and Plaza Khao Gaeng - Southern Thai from Luke Farrell's Chaiyo Restaurants, with a new menu exploring Thailand's deep south, unique to Covent Garden.
Manna, London's original smash burger concept, has its own dedicated space and counter at Arcade Covent Garden, serving the much-loved dishes available at its original locations. Having captured the hearts of Londoners since its launch, Manna took its first international step in 2025 with an opening in Dubai. Elsewhere Studio Coffee is Arcade Create's first coffee concept, founded in partnership with Rich Woods. More than a café, it's a listening space where great coffee and curated sound meet - craft coffee, slow records and conversation by day; wines, beers and a signature cocktail programme by night. Signature serves include the Black Sesame Latte, Gochujang Hot Chocolate, and Rich's iconic Chocolate Orange Negroni. A curated retail and graband-go range - functional sodas, craft waters and premium beverages - completes the offer.

Mr Fogg’s City Tavern, has launched Mr Fogg’s Games Parlour. This brandnew interactive, multi-game experience below City Tavern, the immersive ode to a Victorian pub near Liverpool Street, provides the ultimate day out for friends and family alike featuring six specifically designed booths for up to eight players.
Games include Darts, Mini Golf, Parlour Quoits, Beer Pong, Shuffle Puck and Bagatelle - with each given the Mr Fogg’s treatment, blending familiar formats with a distinctly unique Victorian twist.
Each booth features a Victorian-inspired Grandfather clock and table, which holds three games each. As the 80-minute timer starts, guests go through as many rounds of each game as possible, ensuring that Mr Fogg’s Games Parlour is ideal for all-rounders rather than specialists in each discipline. Following each game, scores are tallied up on the deliberately analogue leaderboard, before the time finishes and the victorious Top Fogg is announced.
As part of the creation of the Games Parlour, Mr Fogg’s City Tavern’s lower ground floor has also had a makeover. The updated bar area will serve classic Mr Fogg’s Tavern menu of draught beers, signature punches and adventurous cocktails. All dishes from small plates including buttermilk fried chicken with garlic aioli, crispy lemon squid and pitta & crudités with houmous & guacamole to burgers and toasties, have been designed to share and fuel friendly competition as guests battle for coveted bragging rights among friends or colleagues.
Available to book seven days a week from 4pm as well as full takeover for up to 24 people, for birthdays, events and celebrations, the Games Parlour is currently free to play until September.

Leading the kitchen with credentials spanning multiple Michelin-starred restaurants, Thierry trained under Alain Ducasse at Monaco’s three-Michelin-starred Le Louis XV and was the Head Chef at Le Gavroche alongside Michel Roux before the age of 30. He earned his own Michelin star at L’Oranger (2003) as well as helping launch multiple restaurants across London including LPM, pioneering London’s “Bistronomy” movement with Chabrot Bistro d’Amis. He brings decades of classical French expertise and modern innovation to the Mazarine kitchen.
Spacious yet somehow intimate, Mazarine boasts a warm and contemporary interior. The light colour palette allows for bold artwork and clean design lines. Effortlessly luxurious, the menu fuses classical French cooking with seasonal ingredients and some of the finest wines, with an expansive selection tailored to even the most selective guest.
Inspired by the rhythm and beauty of the sea, the elegant dining room is fitting for the seafood filled menu. With only the finest product sourced from sustainable fisheries across the British Isles and beyond, guests can expect an extensive selection of starters, small bites, salads, entrées, and sharing mains, alongside an exquisite raw bar and decadent desserts.
Start with a buttery toasted brioche bite topped with Aquitaine caviar, before enjoying some delicate Fine de Claire David Herve Oysters. Next up the warmed prawns with olive oil and fresh basil is beautifully simple yet superb in flavour; as is the Bluefin tuna tartare with Grandjean olive oil.
Other highlights include the tuna confit Niçoise salad; raviole of Cornish crab with lobster broth and citronelle; smoked eel croquettes (or “Croque Mazarine”) and grilled scallops with roasted hazelnuts.
For main course, must tries include the delicate confit cod served with the pil-pil sauce and Bluefin tuna and classic peppercorn sauce. House specialties from the seasonal, modern French menu also feature a range of meat dishes from grilled baby chicken with lemon; fillet of beef with truffle sauce; and classic Burgundy snails with garlic and parsley butter.
Those sharing might like to opt for the impressive salt baked sea bass or Dover Sole to share. Sides include classic ratatouille; garlic broccoli shoots and classic French fries.
Finish with a classic French cheese board or a decadent chocolate soufflé.

Celebrating quiet luxury, sophisticated settings, fine feasting and excellent craftsmanship, Mazarine is a very welcome addition to Mayfair.

Tucked away on Ebury Street, in the heart of Belgravia, UNI is a modern Japanese restaurant showcasing the very best of the cuisine, thanks to modern creativity combined with traditional cooking techniques.
Boasting two levels, the upstairs level offers a more convivial atmosphere based around the open kitchen and sushi bar, while the lower space is more intimate and atmospheric designed for easy conversation and more leisurely dinners. Beneath the main dining room, two small private areas are tucked into historic caves, a rare feature in central London, and discreetly concealed behind curtains. Designed to host up to seven guests each, the space offers complete seclusion, perfect for intimate celebrations or low key gatherings.
With just 47 covers, service is deliberately limited, allowing the kitchen and front of house team to focus on consistency, quality and personal service. This level of intimacy not only maintains the restaurant's lovely neighbourhood feel, but also creates a truly special ambiance, making you feel like you've stumbled across the next big thing in London's high end Japanese restaurant scene.
The menu lets the carefully sourced ingredients shine. Particular care is given to the handling of fish and rice through time honoured Japanese methods, while other selected fish is
imported from Japan and tuna from Spain. Fresh vegetables and fruits are sourced from farms across England to reflect seasonality and freshness. Alongside a wide range of delectable sushi, sashimi and nigiri, signature highlights include Rock Shrimp tempura; Hamachi Tiradito with Yellowtail, zingy jalapeño dressing and kizami wasabi; Chu-Toro Tartar with fatty tuna; and A5 Wagyu tacos with chilli ponzu.
Larger plates on offer - each just as carefully presented as the smaller - include Chilean Seabass with Basil miso; Gochujang ginger glazed Salmon; and Secreto Iberico pork with Teriyaki butter and padron peppers.
For dessert enjoy some creamy mochi or the refreshing yuzu cheesecake.
The drinks list follows the same philosophy of being considered but not unnecessarily fussy. UNI’s sake menu invites exploration for those that are connoisseurs or just curious; while the cocktails are clean and innovative with classics like Espresso Martinis all available. There's also a curated wine list by the glass and bottle, thoughtfully paired to enhance each dish.
Relaxed and charming, UNI leaves a lasting impression making it an unforgettable go-to for excellent food and lingering catchups with dates, friends and family alike.

ROASTED ONIONS & TZATZIKI
ROASTED ONIONS
Red Onion x2 | White Onion x2 | Shallot x2 | White Wine 100ml | Dill 1 Small Bunch | Pomegranate Molasses 30ml | Pomegranate x1 | Olive Oil 30ml | Salt 2g
METHOD
Pre heat an oven to 180°C. Half the onions and shallots, leaving the skin on and flat side down, darken to nearly burnt in a heavy pan. Transfer to a roasting tray and add the white wine, cover with foil and roast for 45 minutes.
Once ready, separate the petals of the onion layers. In a large bowl, add your tzatziki and then add the onion petals on top, dress with olive oil and pomegranate molasses for acidity, then garnish with fresh pomegranate seeds and picked dill.
TZATZIKI
Greek Yogurt (Thick) 250g | Cucumber (Large) x1 | Red Wine Vinegar 25ml | Lemon x1 | Sea Salt 8g | Dill 30g | Olive Oil 40ml | Dried Oregano 5g | Garlic Clove (Small) x1
METHOD
On a cheese grater (large holes) grate one whole cucumber into a bowl and add 5g of sea salt to it, leave for a couple of hours in the fridge. Remove from the fridge and over a sieve, squeeze out the juice and add the squeezed cucumber into a new bowl. Mix in the Greek yogurt, red wine vinegar, olive oil, lemon juice, chopped dill and dry oregano. Using a very fine grater, grate one small clove of garlic - alternatively crush well with a knife - and whisk into the tzatziki.
Parsley 50g | Mint 50g | Red Onion 100g | Red Chilli (Deseeded) 30g | Red Wine Vinegar 30ml | Jalapeño (De-seeded) 20g | Salt 5g | Lime (Juice & Zest) 2 | Olive Oil 150g

De-seed and finely dice the chilli & jalapeño, then very finely chop the red onions. Larger more mild red onions work best for this recipe. Then pick the herbs and finely chop and mix in a bowl with the vinegar, olive oil, salt and juice and zest of limes.
Using a French trimmed rack of lamb with the fat on and scored, cut in between the bones to give you seven cutlets. Cover the bones with foil to stop them burning for presentation. Leave to temper at room temperature for 30 minutes to 1 hour before cooking. Season with salt, pepper and a light drizzle of olive oil and grill over charcoal on both sides. Rest above the grill for 10 minutes. Serve immediately and dress with mint chimichurri.

Michael, who joined as Executive Chef at The Cadogan in 2025, has experience from his 13-year tenure with Gordon Ramsay Group, most notably as Executive Head Chef at The Savoy Grill and The River Restaurant, at Willett's he and his team have created a menu that offers classic cooking of only the best produce thanks to strong relationships with producers and growers from across the UK.
Standouts on the menu include the Willett's perfectly crisp yet fluffy, sourdough crumpets with a variety of toppings such as penny bun mushroom and Wiltshire truffle; gentleman's relish; and dressed Dorset crab. Colchester oysters with dark ale and pepper make for a great starter; as does the juicy Scottish langoustine cocktail with marie rose sauce, London lettuce and pink grapefruit; and Wye Valley asparagus with a fried duck egg, plump morels, wild garlic and hazelnuts.
Further endorsing regional staples, classic British dishes served in style for mains include a Sutton Hoo chicken and morel pie with
mashed potatoes, liquor and gravy; braised lamb faggot with peas and Jersey Royals; and a show-stopping sharing beef wellington. Pair with tallow triple cooked chips and charred hispi cabbage, topped with smoked almonds.
Willett’s also features an enviable menu of classic British puddings: from sticky toffee pudding and warming rice pudding to jam roly-poly and custard tarts, reflective of nostalgic home comforts and family recipes.
Centred around the impressive open kitchen, complete with chef's counter seating overlooking the dining room beyond. The heritage green colour palette and high ceilings are a nod to Chelsea's rich cultural and agricultural past, while the original 1887 herringbone flooring, elevated by bronze detailing, soft lighting and linen cafe curtains create a relaxed ambience that's perfect for warm bistro-style dining.
The new layout has also included intimate booths within the restaurant, offering a more discreet setting for small gatherings while remaining connected to the energy of the dining room, creating an understated private dining option that feels relaxed rather than formal.
With a zero-waste philosophy, signature cocktails are also available alongside low- and non-alcoholic options, including the Willett’s bloody mary martini and a rhubarb punch made with Yorkshire rhubarb and goat’s milk, with ongoing flavours and menus evolving throughout the year. Alongside a wide range of wines, there are also around 20 wines by the glass, showcasing contemporary British producers, including selections from London’s first urban winery in Fulham, Hattingley Valley and Chapel Down.
A new staple for Chelsea - suited to weekday meetings and weekend gatherings.

As we look ahead to the long-anticipated UK summer season, we wanted to spotlight how Champagne can elevate some of the most cherished seasonal moments - from outdoor dining and garden gatherings to sporting occasions and leisurely picnics.
As such, The Champagne Bureau UK has put together a guide of Champagne styles to complement a variety of classic summer experiences and the dishes typically enjoyed alongside them.
Petals, pastries and a perfect pour - Enhance garden parties and afternoon teas with Blanc de Blancs
A Blanc de Blancs Champagne is the perfect choice for those taking inspiration from Chelsea Flower Show (May 19-23) and hosting a summer afternoon tea or garden gathering. The Blanc de Blancs brings a bright, floral elegance that mirrors the season itself. Its citrus lift and notes of white blossom cut beautifully through
rich clotted cream and pastries, while remaining delicate enough to complement classic finger sandwiches. The lively acidity keeps the palate refreshed, making it an ideal accompaniment to both savoury bites and refined sweet patisserie.
A winning pairing for summer sporting moments - Pair oysters with Extra Brut
Whether attending Polo in the Park (June 5-7), hedging bets at Royal Ascot (June 16-20) or sitting riverside to watch the Henley Regatta (June 30 - July 6), freshly shucked oysters meet their match with a crisp Extra Brut Champagne. Sold on stands at these events, the razor-sharp acidity and mineral backbone enhance the oyster’s natural brininess, while fine bubbles cleanse the palate after every bite. The result is a clean pairing that perfectly suits elegant outdoor occasions.

A centrepiece for centre court - Strawberries and cream with Rosé Champagne
A Rosé Champagne is the ultimate partner for one of summer’s most iconic treats: strawberries and cream - best enjoyed during the Wimbledon Tennis Championships (June 29 - July 12). Its red-fruit notes echo the sweetness of ripe berries, while the Champagne’s fresh acidity cuts through the richness of the cream, bringing balance and lift. The pairing feels both simple and indulgent, perfect for relaxed afternoons or watching live sport in the sunshine.
Picnics done properly - Elevate al fresco dining with NV Brut
A Non-Vintage Brut Champagne is the ideal all-rounder for summer picnics, providing versatility across a mixed spread while maintaining an air of effortless sophistication. Its crisp freshness pairs beautifully with picnic favourites such as quiche, charcuterie, cheeses and seasonal salads, enhancing flavours without overpowering them. NV Brut adds a celebratory note to any outdoor occasion, from parks to beaches to countryside escapes.
Effortless entertaining - Canapés with Vintage Champagne
For summer entertaining, whether at home, at outdoor screenings or while hosting friends, elegant canapés paired with Vintage Champagne create a refined yet relaxed experience. The Champagne’s depth and complexity - bringing notes of toasted brioche, citrus, stone fruit and subtle nuttiness - complements a range of bites from smoked fish and gougères to truffled pastries and savoury spoons. The result is a poised pairing that elevates any gathering into a true occasion.

Tucked away amid the gleaming glass towers and bustling energy of Canary Wharf, Mama Li stands as an inviting escape for those seeking genuine Chinese home-style cooking. Having opened its third London spot in Wood Wharf, E14, at the end of January, the new restaurant brings Hong Kong–style Siu Mei to the area, focusing on its famous Cantonese roast meats.
Mama Li was founded by Catherine Hua and her mother to recreate traditional Cantonese roast meats using family recipes. What began as a personal project has grown into a respected restaurant group known for comfort, generosity, and authentic everyday Cantonese cuisine.
At the heart of Mama Li’s menu is a commitment to traditional recipes and fresh ingredients. Signature dishes like hand-pulled noodles, slow-braised pork belly, and delicate dumplings are all crafted in-house, using techniques passed down through generations. The kitchen’s open layout allows diners to watch the chefs at work, kneading dough and folding dumplings with practiced ease, a testament to their dedication

to culinary heritage.
Siu Mei, the iconic roasted meats of Hong Kong, are a highlight. Signature roasts like crispy pork, BBQ pork, soy chicken, and roasted duck are prepared in a charcoal oven and served with rice and vegetables. Guests can build their own plates by choosing one to three types of meat, along with extras such as a fried egg or house-made chilli. The menu also offers Cantonese-style soup noodle dishes, including roast duck lai fun and wonton noodle soup. Classic Hong Kong café favourites, like bolo buns, are also available.
Unlike Mama Li’s express-style outlets, the Canary Wharf location includes a dine-in area alongside a grab-and-go service, catering to busy lunch hours and those seeking leisurely meals. Over half the space is reserved for seating, and cosy décor, soft lantern lights, murals, and shelves lined with vintage teapots create a welcoming atmosphere.

At the heart of Olympia’s newly revitalised cultural landscape, Idalia emerges as a compelling expression of modern British dining - where heritage architecture, refined design and quietly confident cuisine converge. Set within the Grade II* listed Pillar Hall, the restaurant marks the first hospitality opening in Olympia’s ambitious £1.3 billion regeneration, signalling a decisive new chapter for West London.
Conceived by Robert Angell Design International, Idalia is less a restaurant than an atmosphere. Its interiors draw on both mythology and memory - the name itself an ode to Aphroditewhile gently referencing the Victorian origins of the building. Garden-inspired elements soften the grandeur of the hall, with abundant greenery, warm ochres and layered lighting creating a space that feels at once intimate and expansive. A central bar anchors the room, framed by marble pillars and reflective gold surfaces, while carefully placed contemporary details enhance rather than compete with the building’s historic fabric.
The experience unfolds with a natural rhythm, evolving seamlessly from breakfast through to late evening. By night, the space takes on a more theatrical quality, with live jazz and soul performances restoring Pillar Hall’s legacy as a place of gathering and cultural exchange.
In the kitchen, Idalia distinguishes itself with an all-female leadership team. Executive Chef Samantha Williams, formerly of
Angela Hartnett’s kitchen, works alongside Executive Pastry Chef Lorena Tommasi to deliver a menu that is grounded in modern British cooking yet shaped by London’s global palate. Seasonal produce underpins the offering, with dishes that balance precision and generosity - from wood-roasted turbot with shichimi togarashi butter to Herdwick lamb cutlets and coal-fired Lake District porterhouse designed for sharing.
Dessert, however, is where Idalia’s sense of play reveals itself most vividly. A theatrical chocolate stiletto - an homage to Olympia’s fashion heritage - arrives as both spectacle and indulgence, capturing the restaurant’s broader philosophy: that dining should engage as much with imagination as it does with taste.
The bar programme continues this narrative of craft and creativity. Framed as “The Cocktail Tailor”, the menu borrows from the language of couture, offering classics, reworked signatures and bold statement serves. Alongside this, a considered wine list champions English producers, underscoring a commitment to both locality and excellence.
Ultimately, Idalia is defined not by any single element, but by its synthesis of many: history and modernity, elegance and ease, theatre and restraint. In a city abundant with dining options, it offers something rarer - a sense of place, thoughtfully reimagined for the present.

Located on Piccadilly, highly anticipated Fenix is the latest opening from Permanently Unique Group.
The Mayfair location builds upon the success of the 2023 Manchester launch, led by Executive Chef Zisis Giannourous and Head Chef Angelos Togias (previously Krokodilos), serving modern Greek flavours in a space that captures the soul of the Cyclades.
A Greek native who relocated to the UK to develop the culinary offering of Fenix, Executive Chef Zisis brings a modern approach to traditional Aegean ingredients and flavours, drawing inspiration from his time living and working in both Northern Greece and the Cyclades islands. This is mirrored by Head Chef Angelos Togias, originally from Athens, who brings his Greek heritage and experience working at some of London’s finest culinary establishments, including The Connaught, The Ned and Krokodilos, to the Fenix team.
Showcasing sharing-style plates and local produce, balancing signature Fenix dishes with new dishes exclusive to London, menu highlights include Aegean beef and bone marrow, Athenian tartare, langoustine orzo, and a slow cooked wagyu stifado, alongside a refined interpretation of the classic Fenix moussaka.
Designed to bring people together, each dish reflects a chapter of Greece’s rich culinary heritage, guiding you through a journey of authentic flavours, reimagined with a contemporary touch. Musttries include the array of classic spreads, from spicy feta to smoked taramasalata; colourful mezze such as short rib moussaka; wagyu anticucho; spicy meatballs; and halloumi cheese tempura with yuzu
hollandaise and shiso vinaigrette. Main sharing plates include smoked iberico ribs and a salt baked sea bass; to be enjoyed with spicy sweetcorn, hispi cabbage, and broccolini.
Desserts are equally impressive with frozen Greek yoghurt ice cream and doughnuts; chocolate ion ice with layered milk chocolate mousse and crisp layers of almond nougatine; and a sharing vanilla creme brûlée with cinnamon ice cream.
Led by Will Meredith, Head of Beverage Development for Permanently Unique Group, the drinks list draws on his experience at world-leading institutions like Lyaness, Will has curated a list that mirrors the mystical energy of the Greek Isles. By pairing modern techniques with the restaurant’s charcoal fired flavours, the menu captures the carefree hedonism of the Aegean, with highlights including Athena Fizz with hibiscus Ketel One, Roots Mastiha, feta cordial and London essence soda; and an olive oil dirty martini.
A beautiful venue, designed by the acclaimed Studio WYZE, the space is an elegant, modern interpretation of Greek island conviviality, inspired by the cyclical rhythms of day and night.
The large open kitchen and bar allow for a touch of theatre, while sculptural plaster arches, informed by the building’s architectural grid, guide guests through varying areas, shifting from the nocturnal tones of the bar to the day-time infused hues of the dining room.
By using natural materials, reminiscent of the laid-back nature of the Greek islands, the interiors effortlessly blend Mayfair glamour with Mediterranean warmth. A must visit.

Unveiled as part of an increasingly rarefied chapter in automotive design, Project Nightingale by Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is less a concept in the conventional sense and more a meditation on form, silence and the enduring power of craftsmanship. Conceived within the marque’s exclusive Coachbuild Collection, it represents a new expression of Rolls-Royce’s philosophy - one that looks simultaneously to its experimental past and its electrified future.
Named after Le Rossignol - the nightingale - and inspired by the Côte d’Azur retreat once associated with Henry Royce, the motor car embodies a sense of poetic engineering. It is an open two-seat grand tourer of striking proportion and quiet confidence, underpinned by a fully electric drivetrain that transforms not only how it performs, but how it is experienced.
At 5.76 metres in length, Project Nightingale shares the commanding scale of the marque’s flagship models, yet devotes its entire architecture to a two-seat, open-top form. The result is a study in proportion - long, low and sculptural, with a silhouette that feels both expansive and intimately focused.
Its design draws deeply from the Streamline Moderne movement of the late Art Deco era, where uninterrupted surfaces and disciplined lines conveyed speed more effectively than ornamentation. Here, Rolls-Royce designers have embraced monolithic volumes, shaping the car as though carved from a single, continuous mass.
The front elevation is particularly arresting. Freed from the constraints of internal combustion, the absence of large cooling apertures allows for unprecedented expanses of uninterrupted surfacing. At its centre sits the Pantheon grille, reimagined with remarkable boldness: its wide stainlesssteel surround appears hewn from a solid block, while the iconic Spirit of Ecstasy is subtly recessed, its form flowing seamlessly into the bonnet as though sculpted by motion itself.
This sense of movement continues through the car’s defining principle - the “central fuselage”. A single, uninterrupted hull line runs from front to rear, echoing the purity of a yacht’s form. It is a gesture that speaks not only to aesthetic clarity, but to a deeper understanding of how luxury can be expressed through restraint.

Project Nightingale’s design narrative is anchored in Rolls-Royce’s experimental past, particularly the rare ‘EX’ motor cars of the late 1920s. Models such as the 16EX and 17EX - radical in their time - sought to redefine performance through lightweight construction and aerodynamic ambition.
Their influence is evident in the car’s torpedo-like profile: an elongated bonnet, a dramatically raked windscreen and a compact cabin set deep within the body. The effect is one of dramatic contrast - a vast architectural form surrounding an intimate, cocooned interior.
Yet, this is not nostalgia. Instead, these references are distilled into guiding principles: a transition from upright to flowing forms, a centralised fuselage, and sculptural “flying wings” that create tension across the body. These ideas are reinterpreted with contemporary precision, resulting in a motor car that feels both familiar and entirely new.

As with all Rolls-Royce creations, it is in the details that Project Nightingale reveals its true sophistication. Every element has been considered, refined and, where necessary, reimagined.
The surfacing has been engineered to achieve an almost impossible purity, with features such as hidden door handles and integrated lighting designed to minimise visual interruption. Even the marque’s traditional badging is reduced to its essencea discreet ‘Double R’ monogram, executed in polished stainless steel and placed with deliberate restraint.
The wheels - 24 inches in diameter, the largest ever fitted to a Rolls-Royce - introduce a subtle counterpoint. Inspired by the motion of yacht propellers beneath water, their directional design creates the illusion of movement even at rest, while delicate machining and metallic finishes add a quiet sense of dynamism.
At the rear, the composition resolves with equal precision. Slim, vertical light clusters descend sharply from the horizontal deck, while the “Piano Boot” - a cantilevered rear opening - transforms a functional element into a moment of ceremony. Beneath, the absence of exhaust architecture allows for a clean aerodynamic diffuser, preserving the uninterrupted flow of the design.
If the exterior speaks of discipline and form, the experience of Project Nightingale is defined by something more intangible: silence.
Its fully electric drivetrain delivers power with characteristic Rolls-Royce effortlessness, yet it is the absence of mechanical noise that becomes its most compelling feature. With the roof lowered, the sensation is described not in terms of speed, but of immersion - the ability to hear the world itself with remarkable clarity.
Wind noise is minimised to near imperceptibility; what remains is the environment: the rhythm of waves, the movement of air, the
subtle textures of the landscape. It is an experience closer to sailing than driving - a deliberate and evocative shift in how a motor car can be perceived.
Even with the roof raised, this serenity is preserved. Advanced acoustic materials - blending cashmere, technical fabrics and composite structures - create an environment of remarkable quiet, while still allowing the gentle, romantic sounds of rain on canvas to filter through. It is this sensory clarity that informs the car’s most poetic feature: the Starlight Breeze interior suite.
Inspired by the song of the nightingale itself, Rolls-Royce designers translated sound into light, creating a constellation of over 10,000 individual illuminated elements that trace the rhythm of birdsong. The result is an environment that feels both intimate and expansive - a celestial canopy that envelops driver and passenger alike.
This illumination is housed within the sculptural “Horseshoe” structure, which rises behind the seats to frame the occupants in a protective, architectural gesture. Elsewhere, materials are treated with the same level of consideration. Leather surfaces recall the craftsmanship of fine saddlery, while polished metal controls are executed with a jewelled precision reminiscent of haute horology.
Functionality, too, is approached with elegance. Hidden compartments, self-revealing controls and meticulously machined details ensure that every interaction with the car feels deliberate and refined. Even the act of opening the door becomes a moment of theatre, as elements glide and reveal themselves with quiet precision.
As part of the Coachbuild Collection, Project Nightingale is inherently exclusive. Limited to just 100 examples, each motor car will be individually commissioned, its materials, colours and
rolls-roycemotorcars.com

details curated in collaboration with its owner.
This process extends beyond the car itself. Clients are invited into a multi-year programme of experiences, engaging directly with designers and engineers while participating in a series of curated events across the world’s most desirable locations. It is an approach that transforms ownership into something far more immersive - a creative partnership as much as a transaction.
Project Nightingale ultimately represents more than a singular design exercise. It is the beginning of a new narrative for Rolls-
Royce - one that honours the experimental spirit of its founders while embracing the possibilities of electrification.
In drawing upon the legacy of Henry Royce and the glamour of the Art Deco era, it reaffirms the marque’s enduring commitment to craftsmanship, innovation and quiet confidence. Yet it also looks forward, suggesting a future in which luxury is defined not by excess, but by clarity, precision and emotional resonance.
In this sense, Project Nightingale is not simply a car. It is a statement - one that speaks softly, yet with unmistakable authority.

In an era increasingly shaped by electrification, where innovation often risks outpacing emotion, the new Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupé arrives not as a concession to the future, but as a confident redefinition of it - a car that reconciles technological advancement with the visceral thrill that has long defined the AMG name.
This is not merely an evolution. It is a decisive shift in philosophy. Built upon the dedicated AMG.EA high-performance electric architecture, the GT 4-Door Coupé represents a ground-up reimagining of the performance saloon, one that places equal emphasis on sustained power, dynamic precision and emotional engagement. In doing so, it establishes a new benchmark for what an electric grand tourer can - and arguably should - be.
At the heart of this transformation lies a breakthrough in electric propulsion: the axial flux motor. Compact in form yet formidable in output, this next-generation technology departs from conventional electric motor design, delivering significantly greater power density and torque. The result is not simply headline performance figures, though those are undeniably impressive, but an ability to access that performance repeatedly and consistently. It is here, in the notion of “continuous performance”, that
mercedes-amg.com

the car distinguishes itself most profoundly - a defining characteristic that elevates it beyond many of its contemporaries.
With up to 860 kW available, the GT 4-Door Coupé accelerates with an immediacy that borders on the surreal, reaching 62mph in just 2.1 seconds. Yet such figures, while arresting, only begin to tell the story. What truly sets the car apart is its composure - the manner in which it translates immense power into controlled, usable performance. Whether in rapid acceleration, sustained high-speed driving or repeated dynamic manoeuvres, the experience remains consistent, assured and deeply engaging.
Central to this capability is a newly developed high-performance battery system, engineered with insights drawn from the upper echelons of motorsport, including Formula 1®. Designed not only for peak output but for durability under sustained load, it introduces advanced cooling and energy management systems that ensure optimal performance across a wide range of conditions. The ability to recharge substantial range in a matter of minutes further reinforces the car’s dual identity: uncompromisingly high-performance, yet entirely attuned to the practicalities of modern driving.
And yet, for all its technological sophistication, the GT 4-Door Coupé remains unmistakably an AMG - a fact perhaps most intriguingly expressed through its sensory experience. In a move that bridges past and future, the car delivers a meticulously crafted acoustic signature inspired by AMG’s legendary V8 engines. Far from a superficial addition, this immersive soundscape responds dynamically to driving inputs, creating a multi-layered experience that resonates as much emotionally as it does physically. It is a compelling demonstration that electrification need not come at the expense of character.
The driving experience itself is equally considered. Advanced systems such as AMG Race Engineer bring an unprecedented level of adaptability, allowing the car’s behaviour to be tailored with remarkable precision. From response and traction to cornering dynamics, every element can be adjusted to suit both driver preference and driving conditions. The result is a car that feels intuitive and responsive, capable of delivering both refined comfort and exhilarating agility in equal measure.
This duality extends seamlessly into the design. Externally, the GT 4-Door Coupé presents a silhouette that is both purposeful and elegant - long, low and unmistakably athletic. Every surface is sculpted with intent, balancing aerodynamic efficiency with visual drama. Active aerodynamic elements work discreetly yet effectively, adapting in real time to enhance both stability and performance, while subtle design cues reinforce the car’s performance pedigree without resorting to excess.
Inside, the cabin offers a similarly harmonious blend of focus and luxury. The cockpit is distinctly driver-oriented, with advanced digital displays and intuitive controls placed precisely where they are needed, ensuring that attention remains firmly on the driving experience. At the same time, the materials and finishes speak to a more traditional notion of luxury, creating an environment that is as comfortable as it is sophisticated.
Here, the GT 4-Door Coupé reveals its true character as a grand tourer. Beyond its formidable performance capabilities lies an ability to cover distance with ease, offering both driver and passengers a sense of effortlessness that belies its underlying potency. It is a car designed not only for moments of intensity, but for the journeys in between - a companion as much as a machine.
Ultimately, the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupé stands as a statement of intent. It challenges the notion that electrification represents a departure from the principles of performance, instead positioning it as an opportunity to refine and enhance them. By combining groundbreaking technology with a deep understanding of what makes a car truly engaging, it succeeds in creating something that feels both entirely contemporary and reassuringly familiar.
In doing so, it does more than signal the future of AMG. It defines ita future where innovation, craftsmanship and emotion remain not only compatible, but inseparable.

Unveiled against the storied backdrop of the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in 2026, the Vision BMW Alpina arrives not merely as a design study, but as a quietly assured declaration of intent. It signals the beginning of a new era for a marque long defined by its rare ability to reconcile seemingly opposing forces: performance and comfort, speed and composure, engineering precision and understated luxury.
Now under the stewardship of BMW Group, Alpina enters a new chapter - one that seeks not to redefine its identity, but to distil and evolve it. The Vision BMW Alpina embodies this philosophy with clarity. It is not a dramatic departure, but rather a measured progression, rooted in heritage yet expressed through a distinctly contemporary lens.
At over five metres in length, the car’s proportions are both commanding and deliberate. Long, low and elegantly restrained, its silhouette speaks to an understanding of speed that is neither aggressive nor overt. The sweeping coupé roofline suggests motion even at rest, while subtly accommodating four occupants in genuine grand touring comfort - a defining principle of the Alpina ethos.
Power, in this context, is not merely a statistic but a sensory experience. A V8 powertrain underpins the Vision BMW Alpina, tuned to deliver the marque’s signature acoustic character: a deep, measured resonance at low speeds, rising to a cultured intensity under acceleration. It is performance rendered with restraint - a hallmark that has long distinguished Alpina from its contemporaries.
The front fascia introduces a modern interpretation of BMW’s iconic design language. The “shark nose”, reimagined as a sculptural, three-dimensional form, leads the car with quiet authority. Rather than dominate, it guides the eye, establishing a visual rhythm that flows seamlessly along the body.
This rhythm is anchored by a singular defining gesture: the speed feature line. Running at a precise six-degree inclination,
it originates at the front and travels uninterrupted along the car’s flanks before resolving at the rear. It is both a structural and aesthetic device - assertive enough to convey motion, yet disciplined enough to maintain the car’s overall composure.
Where many modern luxury vehicles seek to impress through immediacy, the Vision BMW Alpina adopts a more nuanced approach - one described internally as “Second Read” sophistication. Its details do not demand attention; they reveal themselves over time.
The iconic Alpina deco-lines, a signature since the 1970s, are reinterpreted with notable restraint. Now applied beneath the clear coat, they appear almost as a memory of the brand’s past rather than a direct reference a gesture that speaks to continuity without nostalgia.
This philosophy extends to the treatment of surfaces and materials. Inward-facing elements are finished in darker metallic tones, rewarding closer inspection. Even the lighting design is imbued with narrative: warm white daytime running lights evoke the first light over the Bavarian Alps, while finely cut illuminated crystals add a precise, almost jewelled quality to the car’s expression.
The familiar remains - the elliptical quad exhausts, the distinctive multi-spoke wheels - yet each element has been refined, distilled to its essence. Nothing feels superfluous; everything feels intentional.
Inside, the Vision BMW Alpina presents an environment that is both expansive and composed. Rather than a singular, flowing form, the cabin is conceived as a series of architectural volumes - each element distinct, each contributing to a cohesive whole.
The six-degree speed feature line continues through the interior, subtly dividing the space into upper and lower zones. This interplay of light and dark is echoed in the materials: supple full-grain leather sourced from the Alpine region, paired with stitching that quietly references the exterior deco-lines.

Craftsmanship here is expressed with restraint. Details such as bridge stitching - inspired by historic steering wheel techniques - appear sparingly, while metal components are finished using watchmaking-inspired bevels, blending satin and polished surfaces with precision.
Technology is present, but never overwhelming. Crystal elements are reserved for the controls that directly influence the driving experience, reinforcing the brand’s belief that interaction with the car should feel both intuitive and meaningful.
In the rear, a sense of occasion continues. A self-deploying mechanism reveals crystal glasses and a glass water bottle, each detail meticulously considered - even down to the engraved deco-lines and angled rim profiles. It is an indulgence, certainly, but one executed with characteristic Alpina restraint.
At the heart of Alpina’s philosophy lies a deceptively simple belief: a comfortable driver is a faster driver. It is a principle established by founder Burkard Bovensiepen and one that remains central to the brand’s identity.
The Vision BMW Alpina honours this legacy through its continued emphasis on ride quality and refinement. The inclusion of Comfort+ - a setting that extends beyond conventional comfort calibrations - underscores the brand’s commitment to long-distance composure. This is performance not measured solely in acceleration figures, but in the ability to sustain speed

effortlessly, over time and distance.
The integration of BMW’s latest digital interface further enhances this experience. The Panoramic iDrive system, tailored specifically for Alpina, introduces a visual language that evolves with the driving mode - from subdued, heritage-inspired tones to more dynamic expressions as performance intensifies. Even the digital landscape reflects the Alpine region itself, grounding the experience in a sense of place.
To understand the significance of the Vision BMW Alpina, one must consider its origins. Founded in 1965 in the Bavarian town of Buchloe, Alpina built its reputation not through excess, but through refinement. Its cars were never the loudest

or the most overtly aggressive; instead, they offered a more sophisticated interpretation of performance - one that prioritised balance, comfort and usability.
This philosophy reached a defining moment with the Alpina B7 Coupé of the late 1970s, a car that demonstrated how high performance could coexist with true luxury. The Vision BMW Alpina draws a clear line from that heritage to the present, reinterpreting its core values for a contemporary audience.

Now positioned between BMW and Rolls-Royce Motor Cars within the BMW Group portfolio, Alpina occupies a unique space - one that demands both sensitivity and vision. It is a brand defined not by volume, but by discernment.
The Vision BMW Alpina is, ultimately, less about a single car and more about a direction. It suggests a future in which luxury is expressed through clarity rather than excess, and where performance is measured not only by speed, but by the quality of the experience it delivers.
As the first production model under this new chapter approaches - inspired by the BMW 7 Series yet unmistakably Alpina - the Vision concept stands as both a guide and a promise. It reassures enthusiasts that the essence of the brand will endure, even as it evolves.
In a world increasingly defined by rapid change, the Vision BMW Alpina offers something rarer: continuity, considered and refined.

De-clutter your space to create a bright, clean and welcoming home that is both inviting and functional. Julia Kendell shares some distinctive ideas to achieve the perfect interior blending style with function in the best way for your space.

The UK’s prime residential markets have entered 2026 characterised by a careful balance of resilience and restraint. While values continue to soften, the pace of decline has slowed and, perhaps more importantly, activity levels have proven more robust than many anticipated at the start of the year.
As Frances McDonald, director of research at Savills, notes, the picture is more nuanced than headline figures alone might suggest, with the market still adjusting against a backdrop of global uncertainty.
Over the first three months of 2026, prices in prime central London fell by -0.7%, a marginal improvement on the final quarter of 2025.
Latest data from TwentyCi shows that market activity in February was above the level of a year ago for the first time since September, although the £1 million plus market remained marginally lower.
In March, net agreed sales were higher than a year ago across both the wider market and the £1 million plus segment. This tallies with Savills own data which shows agreed sales remaining resilient throughout March.

At the start of the year, the outlook for the spring market was promising. Inflation was easing, a rate cut seemed all but certain, and the property tax debate appeared to have been put to bed.
Despite the events of the past month, activity levels still look robust, supported by more motivated buyers, though smaller in number, and those looking to lock into mortgage offers and agree deals in anticipation

of further rate rises. However, it has given buyers another reason to approach with caution.
As a result, prime values are continuing to ease back, albeit at a slower pace, at a time when we might have conservatively expected them to bottom out, if not pick up.
For buyers who can see through the current disruption and take a medium-term view, properties at the top end remain good value, with prices not far off where they were pre-pandemic in many cases. But, with so much uncertainty about where things go from here and the financial markets remaining highly reactive, sellers will need to be realistic on pricing this Spring.
Within London, performance continues to diverge by location. South West and West London have proven the most resilient, with markets in areas such as Wimbledon, Fulham and Teddington holding steady or reporting modest gains over the quarter. These locations are benefiting from continued strong domestic demand for family homes which are more prevalent in this area of London.
Elsewhere, prime markets more exposed to mortgage costs have seen values fall by around -0.5%, highlighting ongoing price sensitivity. This is likely to persist as borrowing costs remain elevated and economic uncertainty lingers.
Savills survey of agents already points to a clear shift in sentiment. Both buyers and sellers are notably less confident than they were at the end of last year, when markets most exposed to potential Budget tax changes experienced a degree of relief.
However, London’s long-standing status as a global safe haven remains intact. With prime central London values still sitting approximately 25% below their 2014 peak, the capital continues to offer a compelling value proposition for internationally mobile wealth. However, this must be viewed in the context of a changing tax environment.
As a result, this demand from overseas buyers is more likely to come from those seeking a London bolthole, rather than a broad return of non-domiciled residents. At the same time, higher stamp duty costs are expected to moderate any upward pressure on prices, with early signs suggesting some of this demand is instead being diverted into the capital’s prime rental sector.
London’s £5 million-plus market remains particularly challenging, with the pace of sales continuing to slow amid global uncertainty.
While there has been greater geographic diversification to London’s £5 million-plus portfolio over the past couple of years, sales at the top end of the market over the past three months were more concentrated in London’s most traditional prime central London postcodes.
Belgravia accounted for 15% of all £5 million-plus sales in Q1 - the highest share concentrated in a single London neighbourhood in the past five years. Kensington (12%) and Mayfair (10%) saw the second and third highest number of sales beyond this price point.
While sales have generally slowed, a flurry of big-ticket sales over the past couple of weeks underlines that there is still very much life at the top end of the market. These buyers are far more focused than 12 months ago – and are highly informed and acutely aware of the value on offer. With ongoing stock constraints in the golden postcodes, there is a real risk of missing out on the best turnkey properties if they don’t commit when quality comes to market.
These transactions reinforce London’s enduring appeal for savvy, long sighted buyers, even against a backdrop of wider market turbulence. While the buyer pool is smaller, it is highly motivated, with many having waited on the sidelines over the past year and now looking to take advantage of the value on offer.

De-cluttering your home this summer needn’t mean a parade of flat-pack storage boxes and hidden-away solutions. Homebuilding & Renovating Show interior design expert Julia Kendell believes storage can be a defining feature, something to be shown off, celebrated, and enjoyed every single day.
Summer naturally encourages us to live a little lighter. As brighter days, open windows and holiday hosting put our homes more fully on display, many of us start noticing the clutter that has quietly accumulated over the colder months. But creating a calmer, more organised home need not be a ruthless clear-out. With a little creative thinking, de-cluttering becomes an opportunity to genuinely transform your space. The secret? Stop hiding your storage and start designing around it. Here are three inspired ideas to bring beauty and order to every corner of your home.
The hallway and landing are among the most overlooked real estate in any home, transitional spaces that rarely receive the design attention they deserve. Yet these corridors of unused wall space represent a golden opportunity to create something truly spectacular.
The idea is elegantly simple: line the walls with floor-to-ceiling bookshelves, utilising every inch of vertical space. Crucially, don’t stop at head height, push your shelving high, above door frames and windows where awkward gaps so often go to waste. These elevated shelves are perfect for the kind of books you cherish but rarely reach for. Every spare surface becomes purposeful.
To elevate the look from functional to truly high-end, embrace colour drenching, the interior designer’s favourite technique of painting walls, shelves, ceiling and woodwork in the same

rich, enveloping shade. Think deep forest green, burnished tobacco, or a moody inky blue. Colour drenching unifies the shelving with its surroundings, creating the immersive atmosphere of a private gentlemen’s library or a Bloomsbury study. The books themselves become part of the artwork.
If space allows, tuck a small reading chair, perhaps a tub chair in complementary velvet, into a corner of the landing. Suddenly, a forgotten through-space becomes the most inviting room in the house.
In the kitchen, clutter tends to accumulate on worktops, a chaotic sprawl of appliances, jars, and odds and ends that make even a welldesigned space feel cramped. The solution is not to hide everything away, but to curate what is on show.
Consider dedicating one wall, ideally a chimney breast or alcove, to a bespoke larder-style shelving system that runs from floor to ceiling. Open shelves at eye level display beautiful pantry staples in matching glass jars, vintage ceramic canisters, and artful stacks of cookbooks. Lower shelves, fitted with wicker baskets, house the less photogenic essentials. The result is a kitchen that feels curated rather than crowded, channelling the relaxed charm of a French farmhouse or Scandi kitchen.
The key is consistency: invest in a set of matching storage vessels

and keep the palette tight. Two or three tones drawn from your existing kitchen scheme will make the display feel intentional. Hang a simple pendant light above the shelving to pool warm light over the arrangement.
The bedroom is where clutter becomes truly stressful. Research consistently shows that a disordered sleep environment disrupts rest and raises anxiety. Yet the bedroom is also where storage is most often sacrificed in the name of aesthetics.
If your bedroom has a bay window or a deep windowsill recess, you are sitting on untapped potential. A fitted window seat with liftup upholstered lids transforms this underused area into generous hidden storage, ideal for spare bedding, out-of-season clothing, or the accumulated miscellany of bedside life. Flanking the seat with slim floor-to-ceiling shelving on either side completes the picture, framing the window beautifully and providing a home for books, candles, and personal objects.
Upholster the seat in a fabric that ties the room together, a tonal stripe, a soft bouclé, or a classic check, and add cushions to make it as much a place to sit and read as a practical storage solution. It is one of those rare interior moves that delivers on both form and function in equal measure.
