and in a targeted manner, the diff improves traction, stability and dynamics. When turning or accelerating in a curve, the torque is predominantly steered toward the rear wheel on the outside of the curve, quite literally pressing the car into the curve, eliminating even the slightest hint of understeer while in case of oversteer, the system stabilizes the vehicle by directing torque to the wheel on the inside of the curve.
Every aspect of this performance is reliant on getting all of that power onto the road surface and keeping it there, and for that, fivelink suspensions at both the front and rear allow for the optimal absorption of longitudinal and lateral forces. The optional RS sport suspension plus with Dynamic Ride Control (DRC) enables even more agile handling. This integrated roll and pitch stabilizer consists of a special damper system that counteracts the movements of the vehicle body with no delay without the use of electronics. When the vehicle is turning into and traveling around a bend, the damper response is altered so that the vehicle’s movements around the roll and pitch are significantly reduced. This allows for some spectacularly dynamic driving on winding country lanes and ensures your safety in all driving conditions.
One of the biggest improvements is when it comes to ride comfort. The latest system allows you to adapt the settings to provide a smooth, comfortable ride for every day driving and a pointed, firm ride when desired for dynamic driving.

Oliver Hoffmann, Managing Director of Audi Sport GmbH.

Supporting all of that power and performance is an aggressively designed exterior. A completely redesigned front section means the RS variant is markedly different from the A4 Avant largely thanks to the wider and flatter singleframe and just like its big RS brothers - the RS 6 Avant and the RS 7 Sportback - the RS 4 Avant also features the three-dimensional honeycomb structure in gloss black that is typical for the RS model series. The new eggcrate grille with the RS 4 emblem is inserted directly into the bumper for a more streamlined aesthetic with the large lateral air inlets and vertical flaps.
The shape of the LED headlights of the RS 4 Avant have also been redesigned with the optional matrix LED headlights with darkened bezels completing the revised appearance of the high-performance Avant and differentiate it within the A4 family. The wheel arches with the quattro blisters located above are each 30 millimeters wider at the front and back as compared to the Audi A4 Avant for that aggressive appearance while gloss black design elements positioned right next to the headlights underline the effect of width of the car.
The gloss black, matt aluminum and carbon styling packages add individual accents to the inlay in the sill, the exterior mirror housings and the front and rear bumpers. And upon request, the gloss black and carbon styling packages also include the Audi rings and the RS logo in black on the front and rear. The RS badges can also be omitted completely for a more understated look. The RS-specific roof edge spoiler and the diffuser insert as well as the chrome tailpipes of the RS exhaust system give the vehicle a distinct finish and the optional RS sport exhaust system with black tailpipe trims creates a particularly sporty sound experience. You can also decide whether you want a sporty or subdued sound through the Audi drive select dynamic handling system.
You can tailor your RS 4 Avant to be as aggressive or subdued as you like with a whole host of options and packages available to customise your car, including on the inside. From interior lighting to material detailing, you can adapt everything to suit you.
The black interior offers contrast LED light guides that trace the contours of the doors and the center console, doing so in up to 30 different colours in combination with the optional ambient lighting package. The horizontal alignment of the instrument panel creates a sense of spaciousness with the 10.1-inch MMI touch display taking centre stage. Tilted slightly toward the driver, the touch-sensitive screen displays everything you might need from music and navigation to drive settings and comfort controls. The display

provides acoustic feedback and takes over the functions of the rotary pushbutton found on previous cars. The driver can use the RS monitor to call up an overview of drive system component temperatures, maximum g-forces and information regarding tire pressures and temperatures. In the Audi virtual cockpit, special RS displays provide information on tire pressure, torque, power output, engine oil temperature, lap timings, acceleration measurements and g-forces. A shift light display is also present, prompting you to upshift when the rev limit is reached.
With more than 30 driver assist systems on offer, the RS 4 Avant is not short on technology, making your driving experience better at every turn whether you're doing the morning commute or going for a casual, but dynamic weekend drive.
This is one serious all-rounder that achieves in every area, from performance to functionality. The ideal weekday commute to weekend toy, giving you the option of having one vehicle that does it all, in spectacular fashion.

1967 Jaguar E-Type Series 1 £POA

EYE CANDY
Jaguar's E-Type is one of the most iconic cars of all time, with an instantly recognisable profile, it is often coined as the most beautiful car in the world to this day. However, it wasn't just its appearance that impressed. Boasting impressive performance, both Motor Magazine and Autocar described it as the fastest car they had tested in 1964 and 1965 respectively, pushing the boundaries of road going production vehicles of the time.
Produced from 1961 through to '74 with the Series 1 running from '61 to '68, a total of 38,419 of the original run were produced across three model variants. This right-hand drive E-Type Jaguar Series 1 example has undergone a total restoration and extensive upgrade with over £140k spent and just 200 miles since its rebuild.
Restored by Bridge Classics with a huge photo file and invoices to show the works undertaken, with an upgraded fully rebuilt 4.2 litre engine complete with triple Webber carburetters developing 250bhp built by Scholar Engines - which runs on E10 petrol. The many upgrades to this stunning car include a 5-speed manual gearbox, upgraded brakes, Gaz shocks suspension, braided hoses, side-exit exhaust, rear central filler for the fuel tank, poly bushed joints, aluminium radiator, electric fans, Dunlop magnesium DCM wheels - as used at Le Mans - along with much more. It is presented in striking Candy Volcano colour with black leather interior. It drives as a no expense full restoration and modified E-Type Jaguar should. The car looks fantastic and it has been de-seamed and rebuilt to give it a low drag racing E-Type look producing a real head turner.

The latest Focus ST, developed by Ford Performance offers the most agile and responsive Focus ST driving experience ever - on both road and track. Building on a well established history of class-leading driving dynamics, it’s C2 architecture provides the perfect base for a unique suspension, braking and powertrain configuration to create this lively ‘family’ car.
Boasting Ford’s 2.3-litre EcoBoost, all aluminium, turbocharged engine - which is the most powerful ever offered in a Focus ST - this car delivers 280 PS power and 420 Nm torque giving you a zero to sixty-two mph time under 6 seconds and top speed of
Engine response is enhanced thanks to a low-inertia twin-scroll turbocharger, which scavenges exhaust gas energy more effectively using separated channels to minimise interference between gas pulses. An electronically actuated waste-gate allows closer control of boost pressures for optimised engine performance. In addition, a unique exhaust system that reduces back pressure, bespoke air intake system and optimised intercooler further improve breathing.
Using technology developed for the Ford GT and F-150 Raptor, the Focus ST also features innovative anti-lag technology. Providing immediate power delivery in Sport and Track Drive Modes, Antilag keeps the throttle open when the driver lifts off the accelerator pedal, alleviating the reversal of air flow from the turbocharger to maintain compressor wheel speed and enabling boost pressure to build faster on demand giving you a more immediate response when you want it most.
A six-speed manual transmission gives you an exciting, on demand driving experience putting the control in your hands - which is unfortunately rare these days - with more urgent gearchanges and a sportier feel. You can also opt for the performance pack which includes the same rev-matching technology introduced on the Mustang for even smoother, sharper shifting.
In-line with all of the performance improvements with

regard to speed, the ride, handling and stopping power has also been upgraded to deliver a driving experience that is equally enjoyable during every day driving, meandering through B-roads and on the track. In order to achieve this, a SLA suspension configuration is deployed to help optimise the vehicle’s responses to driver inputs without sacrificing comfort. The agile and energetic character of the standard Focus is retained using the original spring specifications, while damping stiffness is increased up to 20 per cent at the front and 13 per cent at the rear, and ride height reduced by 10mm, to improve road-holding and response in more dynamic driving scenarios.
Alongside this, Ford’s sophisticated CCD technology monitors suspension, body, steering and braking inputs every 2 milliseconds to adjust damping responses for an even better ride and further improved driving dynamics.
There are even more reasons you can enjoy this car on the road and more specifically track. Incorporated into the transmission, an eLSD technology system uses hydraulically activated clutches to limit the engine torque delivered to a wheel that has reduced traction on the road surface, and redistributes up to 100 per cent of available torque to the wheel with more traction to counteract wheelspin that can hamper acceleration through, and out of, corners. Not just useful when trying to improve lap times, but also when driving on uneven or wet road surfaces.
This Borg Warner-developed technology is faster to deploy and offers greater precision than a traditional mechanical

LSD. The system can pre-emptively adjust torque distribution using inputs from powertrain and vehicle dynamics sensors, rather than responding to wheelspin as it occurs, and can apply differential locking gradually for fine-tuning performance.
Larger front and rear brakes provide the foundation for a high performance braking system with improved stopping power and fade resistance. Front disc dimensions have grown to 330 mm x 27 mm and feature dual-piston callipers while rear discs now measure 302 mm x 11 mm. This cars braking performance was verified using the same demanding test procedures as the Ford GT supercar, and achieved almost four-times the fade resistance performance of the previous generation Focus ST in testing.
This is an all-rounder with attitude. Select Sport or Track modes and put your foot down and you'll forget you're in a family car.
