Lucky Cat Chef's Table

Available for Lunch and Dinner, Tuesday to Saturday, the Chef's Table experience 'C@t' at Lucky Cat in Mayfair is designed for guests to indulge and enjoy the creativity of Executive Chef Ben Orpwood and his team of chefs.

Located in Gordon Ramsey's Lucky Cat restaurant, C@T allows guests a wonderful insight into the dishes and the process behind them.

Lucky Cat is inspired by Tokyo's 1930s kissas and Shanghai's drinking dens. These nocturnal music clubs became the playground of the urban youth seeking all things extravagant, new and cutting edge. Asian inspired small plates, Robata grilled dishes, sushi and sashimi are all crafted in the open kitchen and signature raw carve bar. Each dish is designed to be shared.

Ben and his team have created a menu over the past two months with careful consideration of the seasons, using the very best ingredients from small purveyors and artisan suppliers. Taking its DNA from signature A La Carte dishes at Lucky Cat, the Chef's Table menu aims to transport guests to the next level, pairing culinary creation with an intimate chef's dining experience.

Menu highlights of the 13 course menu include Oscietra Caviar- bao, cultured butter; Blue Gray - tartare, truffle ponzu nori; Scottish Langoustine and pumpkin hot sauce; Devonshire Monkfish - yuzu, kombu dashi, trout roe; Smoked Delicia Pumpkin - massaman and Tamarind Custard Tart - goats milk, Tasmanian wild pepper.

Seating up to 10 guests in counter-style dining - seats can be booked individually and is not just a fabulous opportunity to experience Ben’s cooking, but also gives guests a chance to chat with Ben and find out what inspires him and his team, and what this menu means to them.

Chef's Table menu available for £145.00 per person.

BISUSHIMA

Located within the Page8 hotel, Covent Garden, modern Japanese restaurant, Bisushima sits high on the sixth floor, providing a sanctuary for those looking to escape the city and enjoy some fabulous food.

Boasting two large external roof terraces directly overlooking Trafalgar Square and the bottom of Covent Garden, the 190 cover restaurant is one of the largest rooftop venues in the area offering authentic sushi and modern dishes in a stylish setting.

Bisushima places an emphasis on harmony between the guests, environment and the food. Harmony and balance are often described as fundamental principles that reveal the essence of Japanese philosophy within art, design and daily life.

Bisushima is the amalgamation of two key elements: Bisu represents the Egyptian god of hedonism and party; while Shima is the Japanese word for island and sanctuary. Born from these two elements, the concept conveys the transformative journey that guests can relish in from Shima (Day) to Bisu (Night).

At Bisushima, where everything lives, grows and tastes as nature intended, its culinary style echoes the melodic flow of nature. Blending together artful modern cooking with a Japanese twist and authentic “edomae” style sushi with the finest ingredients sourced locally, from Japan and beyond.

The menu changes seasonally and offers guests the highest quality fish and meat. Standout dishes include Tuna Carpaccio, Tuna sashimi, seasonal greens, micro herbs and nori dressing; Iberican Pork Tonkatsu with fennel, cherry and hacho miso sauce; Shrimp Tempura with Tentsuyu sauce; Yuan Miso Chilean Seabass; and A5 Joshu Wagyu Sirloin Steak.

For those looking for a real treat, make sure you try the chefs signature selection of fresh Oysters, Sashimi, Maki, Nigiri, Donburi and the luxury variety of Black Caviar. If you sit beside the sushi counter then you can see the skill and effort that goes into these beautifully presented dishes. The fresh sushi is prepared on site to order, futomaki, sashimi, hotomaki and donburi are individually priced with a variety of fresh fish and vegetable options available.

Bisushima first opened its doors in early 2020, and weathered the series of lockdowns by adding a takeaway and delivery element to their business, providing the capital with artful Japanese dishes throughout the periods of closure. The dine-in experience is what keeps guests returning. Designed with the concept of Shinrin-yoku, to create a relaxing atmosphere for guests, the light and atmospheric dining room features a sushi bar and open kitchen at one end where guests can watch their food being prepared, while in the centre of the room, tables and plush banquettes face the windows out to the terrace, providing the ideal setting for a long lunch or dinner.

The drink selection is fantastic with a wide range of wine and traditional Japanese cocktails. Bisushima has an extensive selection of sakes including 10 by the glass options, to cater to all tastes and allow diners to try a wide variety.

Making the most of the darker evenings, the restaurant has launched the 'Shima hour', an innovative take on the classic Italian aperitivo. The concise menu offers guests a signature cocktail from Bisushima's carefully curated list, alongside a delicious small plate - all priced at £20.

Cocktails on offer are the Hanafubuki (Hendrick’s Gin, Sakura, Raspberry, Rose, Egg White and LEC Soda), the Shibumi (Zacapa 23 Rum, Sherry Manzanilla, Coconut and Matcha), Shinrin Yoku (Roku Gin, Dill, Pine, Lemon and Egg White) and Natsukashi (Pampero Blanco Rum, Passion Fruit, Pineapple and Tonka). Dishes to choose from include Squid or Chicken kara-age, Crispy tofu, Wagyu gyoza and Pork tonkatsu. The Shima Aperitivo hour will run from 6pm until 7.30pm, Tuesday - Saturday.
