Merry Christmas! Yay! Christmas time! And what's this? You're in York during the festive period AND you're holding a copy of What's On? Good grief, this is fortuitous. For if you thought this handsome mag was merely a list of things taking place in and around the city during the month of December, you're dead wrong we're afraid. Because knowing all about what is happening in York, and when, and where, is your key to a truly magical Christmas. And here in York we do Christmas far better than any other city. Seriously,
if there was awards given out by Father Christmas himself for cities and towns who really nail the season of good will... well lets just say we would be a regular customer of Trophy Cabinets Inc. Don't believe us? Simply turn these pages to discover the wealth of events, shows, gigs, attractions and festive merriness taken place. For example, it wouldn't be Christmas in York without a good ol' panto, and both the Theatre Royal's and the Grand Opera House's promise
to be hilarious winners. But for a more low-key and subtle Christmas, you could try wandering around the stately majesty of Castle Howard, or indeed pop in to see Santa at the grotto by the Shambles. How about a rousing carol concert? The Community Carols at York Barbican should do the trick – heck, it always does. Whatever you try, remember to have fun, make some awesome memories, and always keep us close (both in your hearts, and also, like, in your pockets)!
