A Winter Wonderland December What's

Dear Reader,

If you’ve just touched down in the historic city of York for a festive getaway, you’ve come to the right place…

During the most wonderful time of the year, our city is turned into a veritable winter wonderland, with a wide array of festive events and celebrations, ranging from the York Christmas Market and the York Early Music Christmas Festival, to the Yorkshire Yuletide Village, A Christmas Mousequerade at Fairfax House, a multitude of carol concerts, and A Nativity for York.

However, if you’re a bit of a Scrooge (that is, if Christmas isn’t really your thing), you’ll also find plenty going on in town to keep you happy, such as the York National Book Fair, chuckle-inducing comedy shows (including An Evening With The Fast Show and the latest stand-up offering from Sue Perkins), loads of live music, and all of the best local spots to be fed and watered in the city.

We’ve also chucked in a wide variety of theatre shows, from family-friendly pantomimes to spinechilling storytelling, psychological thrillers, and even a hard-hitting production of Shakespeare’s best-known play.

Whatever your plans, we hope you have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Until next month,
