To book visit www.yortime.org.uk the easiest and quickest way to book, the website and improved booking system is there to reserve your place 24 hours a day. If you’ve booked with us previously we’ll already have your details making it even quicker! If you don’t have access to the website call us on 01904 552806. We’re open daytimes 10am to 4pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. You can also call into West offi ces to book during these times. In addition you can book by phone on Monday 5.30-8pm.
What about examination fees? All examination and registration fees are included in the course price unless otherwise stated.
All of our courses are individually priced and most courses have 3 prices. The fi rst is the full price, Refunds which most people will pay, the second for those claiming the state pension and the third for those on means tested benefi ts. 16-18 – Foundation Programme Routes to Success Routes to Success is our highly successful foundation programme for 16-18 year olds who are looking for an alternative to mainstream school or college. Our highly skilled, friendly and dedicated team of tutors and support staff, provide a safe and supportive environment to allow young people to thrive and succeed. Based in our city centre venue Rougier House, we offer a full time programme tailored to the needs of individual students. 24+ Advanced Learning Loans If you are over 24 and studying a level 3 qualifi cation or above, you can apply for a loan to the Student Loan Company. We will be able to support you with your application. These learning loans, which are similar to the loan you would take out for a University Degree, are designed to support courses at level 3 or above. Most of the courses on page 35 and 36 can be funded by a loan. There are other courses throughout the brochure that can be funded by a loan, and these 24+ are indicated by the symbol .
Online job applications, CV writing and preparing for your interview We run a number of programmes for people who are currently out of work. Our approach is to support people in all three essential job hunting skills; getting your CV right, making a job application and preparing you for interview. We have a fantastic record of supporting people into work and we believe you will not get any better support within the city. Our integrated programmes are led by people who really understand the jobs market, understand the barriers people face getting into work and are able to work with individuals to maximise their chances of getting a job. Mint Yard Lectures The title of the series comes from the land on which York Explore Library now stands in Museum Street. Originally the site of a monastic hospital, following the dissolution of the monasteries the land was granted by Henry VIII to Sir Arthur Darcy, Sir Thomas Clifford and John Bolles in 1544. The land later reverted to the Crown, who established the Royal Mint on the site between 1546 and 1553. Whilst its use as the Royal Mint was relatively short-lived, the site continues to be known as the ‘Mint Yard’ today. A FREE five-week course for groups of up to eight learners who are new to the internet or a bit rusty.
Tablets Plus
Explore also offers hour-long one-toone sessions for those who have purchased a tablet computer and would like further support. These sessions cost £15 and run at various times and locations. All brands of tablet are supported.
Explore Tablets & E-Readers
FREE drop in taster sessions for people who are considering buying a tablet or ereader. Attendees are given the chance to experience a wide range of technology including iPads, Kindles, Kobos, Thinkpads and more.
