Thank you, Lord, for the unique way you have imprinted your image onto the next generation. I am grateful for the ways they reflect your heart and your purpose in different ways than those who have come before them. Thank you for the way they bring your heart for justice and your creativity everywhere they go. Thank you for how they care for today’s widows, orphans, and all of your creation.

I pray this next generation's light will not be stifled. Equip me to see how each young person reflects your image, and give me the words to call it out, cheering for it. Show me where the enemy wants to dim the reflection of your image and give me words to pray against those things. Give wisdom to this generation to recognize the image of God in each other — that they would lead the way, in reflecting your image here on earth.

I see a day when we, the older generations, are humbled and called to know a fuller version of you, God Almighty, through the eyes of the next generation. Prepare my heart to learn more about you through the reflection of your image in the next generation.

DAYTWO IDENTITY

Jesus, I am so grateful for this generation. Thank you for calling them for such a time as this. Thank you for their passionate heart for diversity and collaboration. What a gift these qualities are to advance and expand your Kingdom! Oh, Lord, I praise you for giving each generation a unique identity.

Spirit, I see digital influences forming many young people’s identities; they have so much access to what the world says about them. Make your voice louder and permeate their souls. Let them clearly hear your words of truth, and may those words bring life life to the full! This world is defining identity through a confused lens. I ask for your belt of truth to be tied tightly around the waist of this generation. Guard their hearts and minds in you!

Father, I pray young people find their full and true identity in you. Use their hearts for others to grow your Kingdom in a mighty way. Let the world identify them as the generation that is passionate about you and can’t stop inviting others into your goodness, freedom, and peace. Drown out the voices telling them they are not enough and magnify your words that they are fearfully and wonderfully made in your image. Help them to embrace the abundant life in you.

DAYTHREE SELF-WORTH

Thank you, Holy Trinity, for the uniquely gorgeous way the next generation reflects the Kingdom of heaven to our world. I have a fuller understanding of you through them. Thank you for making each one in your image and calling them "beloved child."

As the world pressures performance, production, and perfection, may each one know they're already enough to be seen, loved, and valued by you. Give them identities rooted firmly in Jesus. Silence the noisy, hurried lies of the enemy that distract and numb these beautiful children of God from your way. When the world tells them they are not enough, give them faith that allows them to stand in assurance in you.

May the next generation discover your glory and strength by standing firm in faith and in step with the Holy Spirit. Blow fresh courage across this generation, oh God. May they live freely and lightly as they walk and work with you, Jesus, in full knowledge that they are beloved by you ... Show all of us how to live fully into our baptism together as your beloved children.

Father in heaven, I am so grateful your contentment and peace are accessible to the next generation. Thank you that they can know Jesus, the Prince of Peace, who stills anxiety and restlessness of the soul. Holy Spirit, thank you that you lead the next generation into truth, helping to navigate this moment.

Protect the next generation as the world attempts to define them by false truth. Lead and guide them to your truth. Let your truth become their strength. Let them discover the truth hidden in your creation. Let your love become their home. Surround them by your love all day long. In an age where the spirit of death lingers, make the next generation lifebringers pushing back the forces of darkness. I pray your truth would be found in the authenticity of how they live in you. I pray the faith of this next generation will be contagious and courageous.

Lead this generation to stand up for the truth of Jesus as they experience it through your indwelling presence. May they have a larger capacity than any generation before them to expand the mission of God. I pray that above all, this generation would pursue oneness with God and unity in their global faith would change everything. I see a time coming where the younger will teach the older and all things will be new again.

I am grateful that every person in every generation is made in your image. You revealed your creativity from the beginning in the Garden of Eden. The creativity of the next generation is evident in the ways they not only interact with but create through technology.

Protect this generation as they live in a digital world, where it is easy to hide, distort, and confuse. Protect them from those who want to do them harm. Give them your truth to confront the lies they encounter about who you are and who they are. Make them aware of seemingly small temptations that lead to great hurt. Provide them with communities of believers of all ages who can listen and learn from each other as they navigate the digital world.

Technology has made this generation more globally connected than any generation before it. May you give them opportunities to be creative and use technology to serve the least of these in new ways. May you give them opportunities to share the gospel with people around the world who need to know there is a God who loves them and wants to give them abundant life. May this generation be known as one that took the gospel to the very ends of the earth.

DAYSIX STEWARDSHIPOFMONEY

Your presence, Lord, is the inheritance for the next generation. We praise you, God, our Father, for making tomorrow’s generation the stewards of your blessings to the ends of the Earth. Lead them, Lord, to spread your richness in the world. Teach our hearts to delight in you, not in our possessions. May our hearts desire your presence above all the world’s wealth. Only when we are satisfied in you, can we steward your blessings properly.

I ask for all your richest blessings to be poured out on the generations to come. Hold back no blessing, Lord, save those that keep us from you. Let the indwelling of your Spirit bring radical generosity in the future leaders of your Church. Give them deep knowledge of all they have in you, so they can freely give from your inexhaustible riches. Create in them a generosity that changes hearts, transforms lives, and heals our world.

Lord, you are the coming generations' abundance, you are their riches. Send your Spirit to inspire hearts marked by a deep wellspring of generosity — a living embodiment of the boundless grace flowing from your compassionate heart. May their lives radiate your love, transforming the world for the sake of your Son. May they cling to the only inheritance that can never spoil or fade — Jesus Christ.

DAYSEVEN ANXIETY

Father, we come before you kneeling, understanding the fullness of who you are and who we are not. We lift up this next generation as they face a battle with anxiety. You know their every thought and they are seen by a creator who cares deeply for his creation.

We pray for the next generation, as every thought comes racing by, filling their minds and hearts with anxiousness and fear. We call on your name fill them with your Spirit. That they would know your full love and power. You hold their every thought in your hands and speak truth when they are being told a lie. You empower them as children of God. Help this generation to grasp how wide, how long, how high, and how deep your love is for them. They will not be defined by their thoughts, fears, and worries. God you help us when we cannot help ourselves, let this generation remember who lives in us, the Spirit of a living God. Release this generation from anxiety. Would it not be a stronghold.

Lord, let this generation be made into overcomers by your power. Set them free so they know freedom in you, the conqueror of death. Death no longer has the last word. May this generation live life, abundant life, showing off the power of who you are — the King who transforms death to life.

DAYEIGHT LONELINESS

Thank you for the next generation. Thank you for their courage to pursue and see a big world, and for their strength and willingness to experience feeling small in a big world. Isolation characterizes them in many ways because of the virtual world, and yet, they reach out to create real and deep community with others. Thank you for how they lead us in these ways.

Lord, there is a spiritual battle, and an enemy telling our young people they are alone and isolated. Jesus knew this feeling, and he prayed that those who follow him would be one with him, as he is one with the Father. I pray the next generation understands this truth deep in their hearts. Show they are covered and bonded with the Father in oneness. Protect them from the whispers of the evil one. Protect them from believing they are alone in the virtual world.

Reveal your presence! Give them strength to resist the temptation to walk alone, either in pridefulness or stubbornness.

This generation will set a standard of service, justice, and a community that will bring more peace and care for one another. They will call those who are older to see life through different lenses. They will call younger ones to join in community to impact the world of believers. Use their resilience and loud voice to unify a generation to make things right, to have unwavering faith, and to love fiercely. May it be so in your name!

Heavenly Father, I praise you for creating such a beautiful and inspiring group of humans. They have shown us that we can find your glory and goodness even in the chaos and loudness of this world.

I pray for the battle this generation faces as they struggle with being in quiet places. In silence, our next generation feels an immense amount of anxiety and fear. It is where the lies in their lives are the loudest. Lord, break through this fear and make clear paths leading straight to your goodness and truth. Show them how you see them. Use all the quiet times that happen in Young Life camps around the world to remind our next generation not only of who you are but of the amazing qualities they bring. Protect our next generation during times of quietness and stillness.

Create opportunities for older generations to teach the next how to have solitude and create habits of stillness and rest. Provide powerful encounters with you in those times. I pray they are not afraid, like Adam and Eve in the garden, as they face your presence. Eliminate the fears, anxiety, and distractions their context has built into them because of past rhythms. Make a way for bold and vulnerable conversations with the next generation on the importance of solitude and silence, so they may have space to come to you freely as they are.

STRENGTH & PERSEVERANCE

Thank you, Lord, for being the source of help and comfort for our next generation. I am grateful for the strength you have given our next generation as they provide leadership to others. Thank you for choosing this generation for this season in a confused world. I am grateful for the grace of perseverance that you have blessed them with.

I pray that the strength of this next generation will not grow weary ... that none in this generation will give up or be lost. Let your voice be heard, so they will be obedient to listen. Silence the voice of defeat and fear in the heart of this next generation. I pray for the spirit of boldness and the courage to face challenges. Help me to mentor, to walk, and to speak life into this next generation. In the midst of chaos, strengthen this next generation to reach out for help. Give them support systems in seasons of persevering.

I see our next generation filled with boldness and courage. They will live and teach the gospel with boldness across the globe. Help me be a source of support to what you, Lord, are and will be doing through them. May I be receptive to your voice through this next generation.

God, I stand in wonder of this next generation: humanity’s pioneers in living as a global community. Borders, time zones, and distance do not limit their ability to connect the way previous generations have known. And they are quick to see, welcome, and celebrate the beauty in our diversity. Thank you for using this generation to reflect your Kingdom.

While this generation can connect globally, and relate virtually, many of these individuals are relationally thirsty. Lord, battle for the lonely, the anxious, and the overwhelmed. Silence the distorted voices that engulf them. Relieve them of the heavy burden that comes with a global awareness of pain and suffering. Break the chains that come with unrealistic expectations to engage with everything everywhere, that hinder them from engaging in real life where they are. Move this generation from dismembered to re-membered. Let them know deep and real community. Speak your lifegiving words into these bones today, that they might come together and experience real life.

Living in their re-membered wholeness, this generation will invite the entire world to taste and see the goodness of God! They will invite others into real relationship to join them at God’s banquet and be truly satisfied. The Kingdom of heaven will be spread at a speed and scope the likes of which we have yet to see! Lord, re-member all your people.

DAYTWELVE CARE FOR THE MARGINALIZED & OPPRESSED

I am grateful for you, God our Creator, and for all your acts of creation that bear your image, especially this next generation. Thank you that the next generation values your promise of full restoration, gifted to us through your sacrificial love. Thank you for your life and work on earth, seeking and finishing the necessary work of redemption, moving us daily toward our full restoration in you.

Give young people of the world strong and resilient hope as their hearts break for the outcast, the rejected, the oppressed, and the lonely. Protect the next generation from discouragement and hopelessness as they are more connected to the burdens of the world than any previous generation. Hold them close as hardships in the world are continuously pressing against their minds and hearts. As you care for us, renew sparks of hope in the next generation to care for the marginalized and oppressed, so all could know you.

More than ever, this generation understands the undeniable value of each person. They recognize how your design is reflected in all creation, and your image is emblazoned on every person. You have built the next generation for such a time as this to pray for the restoration of the world that can then enjoy the unity of every tribe and nation.

Thank you, Lord, for a generation that is sensitive to the needs of others. Thank you, Lord, for a generation that is smart and technologically capable to find solutions for situations and people in need. I am grateful for a generation that values an individual for who they are not what they lack.

Protect the hearts and the minds of this generation as they care for the poor. I pray against the pressures the world puts on this generation when it comes to titles, worldly success, and accumulation of money. I pray against a mindset of selfishness and self-gain. I pray they would find value in you and turn your love to others. Teach them generosity and justice through your Spirit. I pray technology would not be a distraction or used to isolate and waste time. Instead, show this next generation how technology can be a resource to help those in need. Give this next generation courage as they engage with and build relationships with those in need, especially those different from them.

I trust you will embolden this generation to courageously step into areas of need. You have created them to love others deeply. You have given them eyes to see those around them who are in need. Use them to lead us to have compassion for the poor. Give them confidence in you as they create relationships and care for the poor. A confidence to know and share about a God who is capable of all good things a God who will provide.

I’m grateful that you inspired the old school poets to pen this phrase: “You are fearfully and wonderfully made.” This is true of the next generation. They are not only made in your image, God, but their reflection of the complexities of your image are undeniable. They are different, unique, and appropriate for what the world needs to see today.

I recognize that everything created by you and for you has an active adversary. I come against the enemy’s attempt to make the next generation feel as if they don’t belong. I pray against the schemes that make them feel they are not seen, known, and loved unconditionally; I come against the enemy’s attempt to build a wall of contempt between this generation and those before it. Bind our generations together. The enemy is a liar and the father of lies. You are the Father of truth, and may you open every eye, so the enemy’s schemes are made known and thwarted.

God, I know you are doing a new thing. Give us courage to lean into the new thing not run away. Prepare my heart to be aware, ready, and excited, about the maturity, growth, and power of the next generation. Through the next generation, the world will “taste and see that the Lord is good.” May the generations before them be in awe of your creativity reflected in them and lead us in such a way!

Guard their hearts and help them not to be paralyzed by fear of failure. With billions of voices speaking into their lives daily, turn them toward you to seek and find identity, purpose, and fulfillment. You are right there to pick us up and do not ridicule us. In a world that quickly bullies and destroys those who stumble, may the next generation lead toward repentance and transformation. Transform this world so shame and dishonor are traded for everlasting joy.

Guard them from being bogged down by the weight of what they see around them. Help them to hold space for joy, even as they hold space for heartache. Help us to model spaces that embrace joy and opportunities to experience it. Your joy is our strength. May this generation be strengthened by knowing your joy deeply as they face an onslaught of injustices, questions of your goodness in the face of global suffering, internal struggles, mental health challenges, relational difficulty with peers and family, and the double-edged sword of social media!

Cause this generation to rise up as one that deeply lives out joy in a way that people see your life in them. May this impact how they interact and communicate digitally, and how they show up in their homes, jobs, and social circles. Might this next generation lead us in simple, pure, unexplainable joy that returns us again and again to our place as your beloved children in whom you take delight.

Continue to bind up the brokenhearted, release from darkness the prisoners and would you comfort those who are mourning in this generation. Give them a crown of beauty and the oil of joy instead of mourning. Use this generation to rebuild the ruined cities and that they would find their delight in you alone, Lord. Hold back the darkness and hopelessness that surrounds them and presses into them — do not let the darkness overcome! Make your hope a resilient force in their lives.

God, I see you looking at this next generation with a heart that swells with joy. This next generation reflects your compassion for others and seeking after truth. Allow me to have compassion for and ears to hear this next generation as depression stalks them. I delight in them as you do. Do not let me grow weary in doing good together with our next generation. In the right time, allow us, together, to experience a wonderful harvest.

Thank you, Heavenly Father, for a generation whose hearts break for what breaks your heart, for young men and women who seek justice, side with the oppressed, and want to include those left out. I recognize how they are created in your image and am grateful!

Show this next generation they are fully seen, but not condemned in you. You see all of our motives, mistakes, messes, and still like us!

Protect our young friends from believing their value and worthiness of forgiveness is in good deeds. There is so much around us that is broken and it makes us angry. Be with our next generation in their pain and anger. Shower them with strength and courage to move toward forgiveness, so pain and anger do not control their lives. Teach our young friends the balance of forgiving and being forgiven. In experiencing your forgiveness, give them peace.

I am excited as this next generation joins you in your redemptive work, knowing justice, forgiveness, and restoration all work together for your good. Use this next generation to teach their elders about forgiveness and restoration in relationship to you, your creation, and each other. Let us all see the world as you imagine it and not be limited to how we experience it. Use this next generation to help us see your dreams and make them our dreams.

Thank you, Lord, for being the Creator of this generation! Thank you that you have created them for global relationships: they can learn about your creation in each other around the world. Protect this generation. Show them the reality that all relationships in this world are broken because all humanity has sinned against our Creator. We all need to be reconciled with you first. Then, we can reconcile relationships with others. Mark those relationships with peace; tear down the lies the enemy uses to divide our relationships and our world. Guide the next generation in your truth to seek reconciliation with you and practice your reconciliation in this world. They will be so deeply rooted in your truth and grace that they will show us how to honor you in every relationship they have. They will treat people based on how you call them to love according to your word! May this generation live lives that honor you and reflect your kindness.

Bless the next generation with unwavering confidence in their unique identities, enabling them to stand tall amidst the pressures of conformity. Help them care for the temples of the Holy Spirit with your kindness. When they feel self-conscious, teach them how to celebrate and nourish the body you knitted together. Help them turn away from the deceptive voices that say their bodies are not enough and run to you in their time of need, seeking help in humility. May they actively carry their struggles and shame into the light, sharing their burdens with one another and receiving the help that can’t be found alone.

Mark this generation by radical acceptance of themselves and others, who feed their bodies, souls, and minds with good things. May they hunger and thirst for righteousness. Grant them the wisdom to discern between the superficial and the substantial, focusing on the richness of their character and the depth of their souls. Thank you for this next generation’s unwavering hope and their determination to create a better world. Thank you for the gift of this generation, and for the hope they bring to the world: hope for justice, innovation, and making a difference.

Protect and guide the next generation as they face a world that threatens to rob them of their hope and faith. Silence the lies and deception of the enemy seeking to undermine their confidence, discourage their dreams, and extinguish their hope. You are victorious over the forces of darkness seeking to steal, kill, and destroy their futures. Intervene in their lives! Shield them from influences that threaten to derail their journey. Surround them with your love and mercy, anchoring them in your unchanging Word. Fill them with deep and abiding hope that empowers them to overcome obstacles. Give them courage to pursue your purpose. Fill their hearts with hope, knowing that with you, all things are possible.

This generation will change their communities, and be beacons of light and hope. Continue to bless them with abundant hope, joy, and resilience. Use them to inspire us all to cultivate a spirit of hope in our own lives, and to work toward a brighter future for all. May they be a generation that shines like stars in a dark and weary world, illuminating the way to you!

DAYTWENTY-TWO INTEGRITY

Father God, I continue to be ever so grateful for your loving, gracious, and generous spirit toward our next generation. Thank you for your patience in bringing our next generation to your Kingdom, so they can continue to serve you and all your children.

Give this next generation the courage, strength, discernment, health, and wisdom they need to live a life of integrity! Give them a passion to serve you throughout their lives with authentic faith that flows through them. Through your integrity in them, grant them favor as they move forward to bring more of your children to Christ. Wrap your arms around them in their struggles, as well, to provide them with the comfort of knowing that life is not always easy, joyful, or perfect. But no matter what, you will always be there. When they make mistakes, you are there, and they only need to ask you for whatever they need to take the next step.

In faith and trust in you, help the older generations learn to understand, support, and communicate with the next generation. Help us, Father, to live lives of integrity, full of humility and hope for the sake of our young people. Hear our prayer, Father: Help your children create authentic community and lives of integrity, so we can grow together and continue to serve your Kingdom.

DAYTWENTY-THREE LEADERSHIP

Lord, I express gratitude for the rise of the next generation of leaders, their remarkable passion, and drive to shape our world.

Bless them with strength and resilience as they guide us to a better future. In the spiritual battle of our times, I pray for the next generation of leaders. Grant them humility amidst power, kindness amidst authority. Protect them from greed, replacing it with a heart for justice. Strengthen their resolve against temptations, guiding them to lead all generations with wisdom, compassion, and grace. Grant them wisdom to guide with compassion, courage to embrace change, and a vision that reflects your divine light.

Heavenly Father, I humbly pray for the leaders of tomorrow, the resilient hearts of the next generation. Grant them the wisdom and courage to lead all of us forward; they will lead us to you in ways we never imagined. May their efforts in you inspire change and foster unity. Their leadership in your Kingdom will be a beacon of hope, unity, and boundless love to all.

DAYTWENTY-FOUR INFLUENCE

Heavenly Father, I am grateful for this next generation’s influence in consequential spaces like social and digital media. I am thankful for their commitment to justice for all, especially those who are in need, overlooked, and ignored.

I pray against the devil’s schemes to kill, steal, and destroy their influence for your Kingdom. I pray against fear of the unknown and lies that they are not enough. We pray against the sense that they are “not known, seen, and loved,” against the sense of isolation, loneliness, and despair. God, give these warriors deep faith in Jesus — the courage to follow him where he leads. Produce in them joy that comes from knowing you have created them in your image.

May this next generation be committed disciples, who make disciples, and carry Jesus’ Kingdom ethic into the realms of artificial intelligence and compassion for refugees. God, give them the vision of that great day when we are part of the multitude too large to count from every tribe, tongue, ethnicity — worshipping our Lord and King, Jesus. We pray in your name.

DAYTWENTY-FIVE COMMITMENT

Thank you, Lord, for the amazing way you are making a difference in the lives of the next generation, inspiring them to commit their ways unto your ways, even in a world filled with so many different options.

I pray you help them resist the need to conform to the ways of the world out of the fear of missing out on the things it has to offer. Teach them how to commit to a deeper relationship with you and resist the devil so that he will flee from them. Lord, I pray the words of Psalm 37:5 over their lives: “Commit thy works unto the Lord, trust in him and he shall bring it to pass.” Give them a heart that hungers and thirsts after righteousness and know that as they commit to you, they will be filled. Continue to hide your word in their hearts, that they may not sin against you. Father, I thank you for the Holy Spirit that you have given each of us to lead, guide, and direct. I ask you to help us teach the next generation how to discern your voice and commit to the leadership of the Holy Spirit.

Lord, I pray that the next generation will commit to a deeper relationship with you and have a heart to share your love to others with boldness. Thank you that this generation will be the generation that is once again committed to the truth. I speak life and life more abundantly over them.
