DEVELOP AND STRENGTHEN THE ECONOMIC COOPERATION BETWEEN THE ARAB REPUBLIC OF EGYPT AND OTHER COUNTRIES AS WELL AS INTERNATIONAL AND REGIONAL ORGANIZATIONS.

PROPOSE THE CRITERIA FOR OBTAINING EXTERNAL FINANCING AND FOREIGN GRANTS.



FOLLOW-UP AND MONITOR NATIONAL AGENCIES THAT BENEFIT FROM FOREIGN FINANCING WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE GENERAL ECONOMIC POLICY OF THE COUNTRY TO ENSURE ACHIEVING THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT GOALS.



MANAGE THE ARAB REPUBLIC OF EGYPT’S ECONOMIC RELATIONS WITH INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS OF ECONOMIC COOPERATION, INTERNATIONAL FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS AND SPECIALIZED AGENCIES OF THE UNITED NATIONS.

The Multi-stakeholder Platform Context  The Ministry of International Cooperation launched the “Global Partnerships for Effective Development Cooperation” multi-stakeholder platform in April 2020.  The main objective of the platform is to strengthen our partnerships for achieving results through regular interactive and participatory consultations with all development partners.  The platform ensures alignment, harmonization and complementarity of development interventions to maximize development impact and achieve sustainability.

 It provides an opportunity to capitalize on our successes, learn from pitfalls and harness the power of group interaction.

The Multi-stakeholder Platform The Platform in Action  Since the launch of the platform, the Ministry of International Cooperation organized a number of participatory workshops in various sectors.  The workshops focused on different areas related to Health Sector, Public Enterprises, Private Sector Engagement in Development and Social Safety Nets.  Today we will address a priority sector for the Egyptian government; rural and agricultural development; where more than 57% of the Egyptian people dwell.  The Ministry of International Cooperation and Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation have been closely coordinating efforts over the past month in monitoring the progress of current ODA projects in the sector as well as discussing priority areas and needed support.

Steps Ahead The Platform in Action  Organize targeted workgroups on priority themes that were identified by the Ministry of Agriculture.  Highlight Implementation challenges of past experiences and explore the readiness of different areas and themes to identify the prerequisites that can be served through technical cooperation.  Pinpoint areas for intervention on the short, medium and long-terms.  Create complementarity among different development interventions and scale-up successful practices.
