Why an international certification As circular economy is becoming more common way of doing business, the role of recycled and recovered materials is increasing in manufacturing of products and in developing services. At the same time the customers are more and more aware of questions, such as safety and origin of the material and transparency of the material chain.

We believe this is the way it should be. And this is why we have created CERUB, a certification system for rubber materials produced from used tyres. The CERUB label indicates that the material derived from used tyres is produced and delivered to the markets in responsible way.

It means that the legislative, health and environmental risk recognition and management is the priority value in material production. This includes taking responsibility over delivering applicable information for safe use of the material.

Six Principles of Certification The principles and criteria set in CERUB specify the conditions for granting a certification and allowing the use of the CERUB label.

Responsibly produced and delivered The Swedish Tyre Recycling (Svensk Däck­ återvinning), together with their counterparts in Norway, Finland and The Netherlands, initiated an international certification for responsible recycled tyre rubber. The certification can be compared with FSC and MSC and is a tool to set requirements for suppliers of tyre material so that they meet all relevant criteria for the material.
