Be Hearty Be Thankful Be Strong
This week we had very sad news that our beloved RD Lee Liat Cheng passed away though we couldn’t believe it, we have to face it.
My first time meeting with RD Lee Liat Cheng was in Southeast Asia Conference, Chiangmai 2019. Since RDE training, I started working closely with him. In December 2019, as a DG of Hong Kong District, I invited RD and his wife to join a 3-day leadership exchange programme in Shantou, China where his parents’ origin was. We had a great time with the couple there and RD got to know many Hong Kong Y’s Men members. He was very popular in Hong Kong District. Personally, I was so thankful to RD for giving me many opportunities and encouragement to initiate and lead the works for Southeast Asia Region. RD managed his time very well and was never absent-minded that he kept closely updating and sharing with me. I was very happy to work with him and learnt a lot under his mentoring and supervision.... and a lot of memories returned. This year, we have been facing a long and hard time by the COVID-19 pandemic which hampered many of our activities. Although now we also lost an enthusiastic leader, we are still moving forward for Y’s Men Movement. Our God Father is still giving us mercy, grace and kindness that we do not lack. We will be given the power, the strength and the courage by the Lord as we believe. Let’s stay united and try to make the remaining days of this year more active. God bless us everyone. Lastly, I would like to extend my sincere condolences to RD’s families again and may RD rest in peace in heaven. RD, you will be missed.

October 2020 Memorial For Our Great Leader Lee Liat Cheng, Regional Director
Our beloved leader, Lee Liat Cheng, Regional Director of Southeast Asia returned to the home of heaven on October 27 , 2020. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” 2 Timothy 4:7
In Memory of
1942-2020 Lee Liat Cheng Y’s Men International - Regional Director of Southeast Asia
RD Lee Liat Cheng became a member of Y’s Men’s Club of Singapore Alpha Chapter after he retired as the President of the YMCA of Singapore. He was a very kind and caring person, also an active leader of YMCA. He had successfully formed a strong team in Southeast Asia after he performed RD duties from July 1, 2020 and tried his best to lead us the movement of Y’s Men, especially extension projects in Malaysia, Nepal and Myanmar. He had sudden serious illness on October 23, 2020 and was admitted to an emergency ICU. He suffered organ failures caused by pneumonia but indeed he had fought the good fight with everyone’s hard prayers. We trust that his soul rest in peace in God’s arms. We sincerely expressed our deepest condolences to his wife Shook Ken, son Brian, daughter Belinda and the entire family . May the Lord extend the comfort and strength to the family during this difficult time.
RD Lee Liat Cheng, we will miss you so much. Y’sly from Southeast Asia Region

CLUB NEWS-SMIT DISTRICT MOON CAKE FUNDRAISING PROJECT Berbakti Int’l Y’s Men’s Club of Kuala Lumpur (Berbakti KL) has been undertaking Moon Cake Fundraising Project yearly during the autumn lunar festival (September/October) for the last many years. It has become the Club’s signature project, which generates regular income (of a few thousand ringgit per year) to help finance the Club’s various projects, including charity disbursements.
Moon cake is a popular “must-have” delicacy item during the moon festival. There are numerous manufacturers offering different brands and varieties of products, and the market is very competitive. We have been able to link up with a reputable manufacturer who has kindly offered us huge discount, that we in turn pass on the benefits to our members, friends, associates and customers. We thus make on a small margin but reasonable volume of sales. We have a strong supporter in the project. He is our member whose company regularly orders in bulk. Members, friends and associates chip in to patronize and promote the sales. Our Club President, Y’s Man Ngu Seow Key, has taken a personal initiative and much effort in this labour of love. Despite the current Movement Control Order in view of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are grateful that the project during this just-ended season continued as usual. By Andrew Tan, Hon. Secretary

missioned to soar together and serve others with the value innovations of effectiveness, efficiency and efficacy to achieve excellence. The current members of the club are mostly below 40s with the heart to serve community. The talents in members are a mix of young musicians, entrepreneurs and IT professionals. Being formed in such a pandemic crisis, the club is praying and searching the best ways to use our talents and capabilities to help those in need in such a time as this. The current direction we are contemplating is to formulate programmes to provide food to those in need and to innovate ideas to create job opportunities for those who has lost their jobs. The club is fresh and needs a lot of guidance from all other leaders and clubs in this brotherhood community. We pray that the club shall rise up in this timing to make a difference in our region with the power of the flow of river of life from the most high God. CHRISTIAN EMPHASIS
Devotion
How to handle anxiety attack in this phase 2 period of Coronavirus Pandemic, social entrepreneurship is critical in CE thinking and practice in Ysly YMI. Anxiety is a result of envisioning the future without God our Father divine guidance. So the best defender against worry and cares is to cast it upon Father God through prayer and fasting vertical communication also horizontal with close family members or associates. When we turn our thoughts toward Father God, you can think much more positively alongside His Word for inspiration.Remember to listen, obey and trust as well as to speak. Making your thoughts a dialogue with Father God. Do not linger in the future, because anxieties sprout up like mushrooms when you wander there considering upcoming events. Remember the promise of Father God’s continued presence include Him in any imagery that comes to your mind from within. This mental discipline does not come easily, because you are accustomed to being preoccupied with self. However, the reality of Father God’s presence with you, now and forevermore, outshines all anxiety attacks and any fantasy you could ever imagine. Be still. Shalom! God bless. By RSD-CE Rev. Dr. P. Men International introduces its Week4Waste campaign which will be coordinated through the corresponding Task Force chaired by PAP Area Europe, Ulrik Lauridsen. To actively participate in the campaign, clubs should conduct at least one “clean-up activity in their community during the year – for example, meeting to pick up trash left at a local park or beach. Multiple programmes and actions are encouraged, as well as cooperation with other NGOs or like-minded organisations. Consider coordinating and Publishing your events through the Great Global Clean Up Programme. Our goal is to have maximum impact and maximum visibility! Activities should culminate in the week of 18 – 25 April 2021, which has been specifically selected because of the several international environmental protection actions and observations during that period, including Earth Day on 22 April.
