Once a cramped and crowded entry point, the Allegheny YMCA Welcome Center has been transformed into an open, inviting, and accessible space designed to better serve members, residents, and guests. Enhanced lighting, vibrant finishes, and improved flow create a brighter first impression, while expanded service areas make check-ins, questions, and connections easier than ever. The new Welcome Center reflects the spirit of the YMCA welcoming all who walk through its doors.
CARDIO FLOOR The Cardio Floor has undergone a complete transformation to meet the needs of today’s members. Formerly a crowded space with aging equipment, outdated flooring, and limited comfort, it now features a modern, open layout designed to enhance every workout experience. State-of-the-art cardio equipment, improved lighting, and upgraded flooring create an energizing atmosphere, while new air conditioning throughout the building ensures greater comfort year-round. The result is a fitness space that inspires members to move, achieve their goals, and enjoy every visit to the Y.
LOG CABIN ROOM One of the Allegheny YMCA’s most unique spaces has been given new life. Originally built to give members a taste of the YMCA camping experience, the Log Cabin Room has served many purposes over the past century from a smoking lounge to a conference room and, most recently, storage space. Today, this historic room has been transformed into a warm and inviting gathering place where members can connect, collaborate, work remotely, or simply relax. Its restoration preserves a remarkable piece of YMCA history while creating a meaningful space for the future.
AUXILLARY GYM Once home to a CrossFit studio, the Auxiliary Gym has been reimagined into a versatile, multi-purpose space designed to bring people together through movement and play. Featuring a half-court gym for basketball, pickleball, youth programs, group exercise classes, and community activities, the space balances flexibility with function. Original hardwood flooring has been beautifully restored and polished, honoring the building’s history while creating a bright, welcoming environment for today’s members.
