YMCA CAMP CHANDLER

WHO WE ARE

For nearly a century, YMCA Camp Chandler has been dedicated to nurturing well-rounded, adventurous young leaders through a blend of exceptional counselors and core Christian values. Set on a stunning 108-acre natural landscape, our camp offers exciting challenges both on land and in water. By connecting with nature, acquiring new skills, and taking time to reflect on how God inspires confidence, wonder, achievement, and a sense of belonging, our campers forge unforgettable memories. Every camping experience is crafted to ensure safety and enjoyment. We take pride in being accredited by the esteemed American Camp Association, and all our highly trained staff hold American Red Cross CPR and First Aid certifications.

OVERNIGHT CAMP OPTIONS

EXPLORERS*

(6 - 8 Year Olds)

This two-night camp samples camp activities and includes more interaction with the old camp traditions. Campers arrive on Sunday afternoon and parents return on Tuesday afternoon.

VOYAGERS* (8 - 11 Year Olds)

Much like Explorers, this twonight camp samples camp activities and includes more interaction with the old camp traditions. Voyagers is geared more towards the older camper who is new to camp. Campers arrive on Sunday afternoon and parents return on Tuesday afternoon.

RANGERS

(8 - 14 Year Olds)

This week-long camp is designed to develop a well-rounded camper in spirit, mind, and body. Rangers will participate in all traditional camp activities. Camp traditions present challenging opportunities for Rangers to build new friendships while exploring the great outdoors, all carefully monitored by great counselor role models.

Any camper who attends a Voyagers session will receive a $100 discount for a WEEKLONG session, such as Rangers or Specialty Camps!

SPECIALTY CAMPS*

These camps focus on advanced skills for Rangers (ages 10 to 14) Space is very limited for all specialty camps *Specialty Camps sessions coincide with Rangers sessions 2, 4, and 6. YMCA Members: $785 | YMCA Non-Members: $835

SKIVENTURE CAMP

Skiers and riders of all experience levels are welcome! This specialty camp gives participants eight hours per week on the water, whether they’re learning for the first time or building on existing skills. Campers can try skiing, wakeboarding, or kneeboarding on beautiful Lake Jordan.

PIONEERS

Calling all outdoor adventurers! This specialty camp provides an opportunity for campers to explore their natureloving side. Whitewater rafting at Montgomery Whitewater, skeet shooting at the Lower Wetumpka Shotgun Club, a hike on the trails of Lake Jordan, and a sleep out under the stars will be unforgettable!

WRANGLER CAMP

Introduces the skills and responsibilities of horseback riding. Wranglers will spend extra time trail riding & learning to groom & care for an assigned horse during the week. The perfect specialty camp for those that love horses!

DAY CAMP

Day camp is offered for campers 6 - 12 years of age, Monday - Friday for 8 weeks this summer. Hot breakfast, hot lunch, and bus transportation will be provided. Day Camp is perfect for first time campers or anyone who wants to participate in some of our traditional Camp Chandler activities with our funloving Camp Chandler staff, but is unable or unwilling to spend the night.

Please note that low ropes and high ropes courses, horseback riding, sailing, and the banana boat are only available for Overnight Campers, and will not be accessible to Day Campers.

SPECIAL RATE OPPORTUNITIES

REFER-A-FRIEND: A returning camper refers a NEW camper, for every NEW camper registered (in a WEEKLONG session, such as Rangers or a specialty camp) that they refer, the referrer will get $100 off of their total due, with no limit. The new camper that was referred does NOT get a discount

VOYAGER TO RANGER: Any camper who attends the Voyager session will receive a $100 discount for a WEEKLONG session, such as Rangers or a specialty camp.

DAY CAMP TO OVERNIGHT CAMP: Any camper who attends 3 sessions of Day Camp will receive a $200 discount for a WEEKLONG session, such as Rangers or a specialty camp.

MULTIPLE SESSIONS & WEEKEND STAYS

To truly experience all the magic camp has to offer, campers can stay for multiple sessions and weekends in between because sometimes one session just isn't enough!

Campers attending multiple weeks will receive $100 off each additional week. We also offer a Weekend Stay-Over option between four of our sessions for the low rate of $110 for members and $120 for non-members! Weekend stays are available exclusively to campers attending a weeklong session before and/or after the weekend session. YMCA Camp Chandler is committed to the health and safety of all our guests. Our mission is to iver a world-class experience while ensuring a secure environment for everyone Camp Chandler features a medical hut with a registered nurse onsite throughout each camper ’ s stay.

WHO ARE THE CAMP COUNSELORS?

Many camp counselors return year-after-year, providing great continuity for campers & parents. perience hinges on the positive relationship between the camper & ors undergo careful screening, background checks, and are selected , maturity, experience, and specific camping skills. WHERE DO CAMPERS EAT AND LIVE?

HOW CAN I COMMUNICATE WITH MY CAMPER?

To help campers fully enjoy their experience, phones are strictly prohibited. You can send bunk notes to overnight campers, and we share daily photos on Bunk1, with login information provided at check-in Campers also love receiving good old-fashioned mail, which can be dropped off during check-in or mailed to Camp Chandler’s address (for overnight camp sessions only).

Camp Spark at YMCA Camp Chandler offers a unique opportunity for underserved youth ages 8-12 to enjoy the joys of camping, completely free for their families. With a focus on inclusivity and personal growth, Camp Spark provides a supportive environment where children can participate in outdoor adventures, arts and crafts, and team-building exercises Designed to foster friendships and build confidence, this weekend camp ensures that every child can create lasting memories in a safe and nurturing setting.

We are thankful to all of those families that support the YMCA year-round with household memberships. As a thank you, we are proud to offer a Membership Discount (household memberships only) on all camp sessions in thanks for your support and dedication to the YMCA and all of its programs.

It is the mission of Camp Chandler to make camp available to all youth, regardless of ability to pay. To receive financial assistance for a session of summer camp, please fill out the financial assistance form, available online or by contacting the camp office. Applications must be submitted at least two weeks prior to the start of a session. Financial assistance is available for all YMCA Camp Chandler sessions.
