DEAR Y FAMILY,
As we reflect on the past year, one quote comes to mind: “You are only as strong as what you build on.” While our YMCA continues to be tested and challenged in this post-pandemic world, we are doing the hard but necessary work to strengthen our foundation so that our organization can continue to grow and thrive in Central Florida for generations to come. Through it all, our commitment to our mission has not wavered, and we remain laser-focused on improving the lives of all in our community through programs that help build a healthy spirit, mind, and body.
We have made a lot of progress in 2022, and our work is just beginning. We launched YMCA360, an innovative virtual platform that provides members the opportunity to stay active and engaged with the Y at home or on the go. We unveiled the first-of-its-kind Y Explorers program, which allows youth to explore their interests and learn new things through theme-based tracks in a safe and enriching after-school environment. We maintained our commitment to faith through our virtual 31st Annual Pappy Kennedy Prayer Breakfast and our 28th Annual Celebration of Prayer. We celebrated the opening of the new Leonard & Marjorie Williams Family YMCA, a community center point in Orlando’s transformational Packing District.

Finally, we responded to the changing needs of our community by introducing Y Your Way. We are confident that this new model will help us better serve our neighbors and make our important programs and services more accessible to all.
The past year was also one of heartbreak, as the devastating impact of Hurricane Ian ravaged our Blanchard Park YMCA. Despite this setback, we are proud of our dedicated team who worked tirelessly in the aftermath of the storm to provide comfort and resources to many of our neighbors who needed it.
All of our accomplishments and setbacks make us stronger, and we are excited to turn the page and forge a new way forward, together. We are building a stronger foundation, brick by brick, and we are confident that with the continued support of our dedicated volunteers, resilient staff, generous donors, and the people we serve, the YMCA of Central Florida is on a path to a bright future.
Thank you for your continued support of the YMCA of Central Florida.
IN SERVICE,
