Water discovery introduces infants and toddlers to the aquatic environment

Parent-Child Stage B (13 months - 5 years):

YOUTH PROGRAM Youth Stage 1 (6-12 years):

Water acclimation increases comfort with underwater exploration and introduces basic self-rescue skills performed with assistance.

Water exploration focuses on exploring body positions, blowing bubbles, and fundamental safety and aquatics skills.

Youth Stage 2 (6-12 years):

Preschool Stage 1 (3-5 years):

Youth Stage 3 (6-12 years):

Water movement encourages forward movement in water and basic self-rescue skills performed independently.

Water acclimation increases comfort with underwater exploration and introduces basic self-rescue skills performed with assistance.

Water stamina develops intermediate self-rescue skills performed at longer distances than in previous stages.

Stroke introduction of basic stroke technique in front crawl and back crawl and reinforces water safety through treading water and elementary backstroke.

Preschool Stage 4 (3-5 years):

Stroke development introduces breaststroke and butterfly and reinforces water safety through treading water and sidestroke.

Youth Stage 6 (6-12 years):

Stroke mechanics refines stroke technique on all major competitive strokes and encourages swimming as part of a healthy lifestyle.

Please note: All children 2 years and under and/or not potty trained must wear a non-disposable swim diaper while swimming in YMCA pools. Nondisposable swim diapers may be purchased at the front desk for $15.

The Y offers over 150 FREE group exercise classes each week including Zumba™, Kettlebells, Y Barre, POUND®,Generation POUND®, Spinning, TRX™ Suspension Training, Aero Pilates, Les Mill’s Bodypump™ and Bodycombat™, Yoga and Pilates. In the supportive environment of group exercise class, your classmates and instructors will inspire you to go the extra mile!

HAVE YOU TRIED PILATES REFORMER? First session is FREE at Redlands Y! Pilates Reformer uses spring loaded apparatus that will help you look and feel your very best. Pilates teaches body awareness and improves flexibility, agility and economy of motion. Reformer Plus adds the use of the Mini Ball, Fit Circle, and hand-held weights to maximize your work out. Aeropilates uses a rebounder to target all four components of fitness: muscle strength, muscle endurance, flexibility, & cardiovascular fitness.

Cancer is a life-changing disease that takes a tremendous physical and emotional toll on those affected. The Y and the LIVESTRONG Foundation have joined together to create LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA, a research-based physical activity and well-being program designed to help adult cancer survivors reclaim their total health.

Participants work with Y staff trained in supportive cancer care to safely achieve their goals such as building muscle mass and strength; increasing flexibility and endurance; and improving confidence and self-esteem. By focusing on the whole person and not the disease, LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA is helping people move beyond cancer in spirit, mind and body.

PROGRAM DETAILS • 12-week program with two 90-minute sessions per week • Includes cardiovascular conditioning, strength training, balance, and flexibility exercises • Evaluation includes fitness and quality of life assessments before and after participation • Facilitated by YMCA-certified instructors • Free YMCA membership for participant and their family for the duration of the program

HEALTH & FITNESS SILVERSNEAKERS SilverSneakers increases cardiovascular and muscular endurance power with a standing circuit workout. Upper body strength is built using hand weights, elastic tubing, and a exercise ball.

A chair is offered for support to get head-to-toe stretching and complete relaxation in a comfortable position.

Zumba Gold is a mixture of salsa cardio and hip-hop dance that will get you moving to the music! Zumba Gold has tailored the moves and traditional fast-pace of Zumba to meet the needs of members looking to enjoy the workout at a beginner level. The modified moves and pace are easy and fun to learn. Meet new friends and enjoy your workout with Zumba Gold!

STRETCH & TONE Stretch & Tone is a low impact, low intensity workout that will tone your muscles, increase your range of motion and flexibility, and help you to relieve stress. Through a series of stretching and toning exercises, participants will develop breathing techniques to compliment this resistance training workout.
