Parent-Child Stage A (6-12 months):

Water discovery introduces infants and toddlers to the aquatic environment

Parent-Child Stage B (13 months - 5 years):

Youth Stage 1 (6-12 years):

Water acclimation increases comfort with underwater exploration and introduces basic self-rescue skills performed with assistance.

Water exploration focuses on exploring body positions, blowing bubbles, and fundamental safety and aquatics skills.

Youth Stage 2 (6-12 years):

Preschool Stage 1 (3-5 years):

Youth Stage 3 (6-12 years):

Water movement encourages forward movement in water and basic self-rescue skills performed independently

Water acclimation increases comfort with underwater exploration and introduces basic self-rescue skills performed with assistance

Water stamina develops intermediate self-rescue skills performed at longer distances than in previous stages

Preschool Stage 2 (3-5 years):

Water movement encourages forward movement in water and basic self-rescue skills performed independently

Stroke introduction of basic stroke technique in front crawl and back crawl and reinforces water safety through treading water and elementary backstroke.

Preschool Stage 3 (3-5 years):

Youth Stage 5 (6-12 years): Stroke development

Water stamina develops intermediate self-rescue skills performed at longer distances than in previous stages

No swim lessons on holidays: Sept 3 & Nov 22 Please note: All children 2 years and under and/or not potty trained must wear a non-disposable swim diaper while swimming in YMCA pools. Non-disposable swim diapers may be purchased at the front desk for $15.

Youth Stage 4 (6-12 years):

Stroke mechanics refines stroke technique on all major competitive strokes and encourages swimming as part of a healthy lifestyle

Beginning Sept. 17th, members across all three branches will be tracking their exercise hours as part of our 12 Weeks of Fitness Challenge!

With five different fitness levels you can unlock, each participant sets their own goals and selects their style of exercise to achieve it! 12 Weeks of Fitness is all about keeping you motivated and moving as we charge into the holiday season!
