Dear YMCA Family and Friends, 2025 marked 140 years of the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas serving North Texas. We are grateful for the legacy our donors, members, and partners have built with us. From 24 charter members in 1885 to today, we are excited to share a vision that will guide the Dallas Y for years to come. In 2025, we launched a 5-year vision to meet the growing needs of our communities by expanding access to welcoming spaces where everyone belongs and can strengthen their physical, mental, and social well-being. Let’s Be Legendary, the Campaign for Lasting Change has a key goal of doubling the number of people we serve through 5 signature initiatives: Water Safety: Eliminate childhood drowning by helping all levels of swimmers feel safe, confident and capable in the water Y For All Scholarship Program: Because every person deserves the chance to be part of the YMCA community Youth Development: Keeping children safe, engaged, and growing through fun and meaningful activities Membership, A Place to Belong: The YMCA is a place for healthy living where everyone is welcomed, supported, and connected Sports: Where every athlete plays, builds character, strengthens teamwork, and grows in confidence These initiatives represent the YMCA’s presence in a community. Expanding their impact to reach 500,000 people annually means that fundraising will be at the core of all we do. Ambitious annual, capital, and legacy giving goals will fuel reinvestment into current YMCA buildings, introduction of the Y to new communities, and the growth of these key initiatives. In the past two years, we have seen meaningful transformation through new and refreshed locations in Lake Highlands and South Dallas, renovated YMCA Camp Grady Spruce, expanded water safety programs serving over 10,000 individuals, and growing afterschool care across North Texas. And this is just the beginning. Thank you for supporting the Y. Your time, energy, and generosity have sustained us for 140 years, and we look forward to serving North Texas for generations to come.
