INTRO TO SYNCHRO
Ages 8-14 | April 11 - May 16 | Saturdays
Discover the elegance and athleticism of synchronized swimming in our introductory class!
Designed for beginners, this class will teach the basics of synchronized swimming, including fundamental techniques, routines, and teamwork.
Participants will learn to perform synchronized movements in the water, enhancing their swimming skills, coordination, and confidence.
Join us for a fun and engaging experience that combines swimming, dance, and gymnastics!
Students must be able to tread water comfortably for 1 minute to be able to participate.

YOUTH SWIM LESSONS
Our Fergus Falls Swim School, offers weekly 30-minute lessons focusing on aquatic readiness and safety, taught by certified instructors for all ages and skill levels. Parents are asked to stay close for assistance.

ADAPTIVE SWIMMING LESSONS
These one-on-one lessons are for swimmers with special needs – including autism, sensory issues, physical/developmental disabilities, and more – and are tailored towards the skills of each participant.
Level Descriptions

youth participated in swim safety programs in 2024. Did You Know?

Parent/Baby: Parents work with their 6-18 mo. baby on floating, submerging, hand/eye coordination, and more through games /songs.
Parent/Child: Parents work with their 19-35 mo. toddler on floating, strength, breath control for submerging, and exiting the pool on their own.

Guppy: Children ages 3+ can begin getting comfortable in the water independent of their parents. Children in this level will overcome their fear and swim independently.
Starfish: Encouragement and positive reinforcement help kids become more confident floating on their front and back as well as kicking across the pool on their back independently.
Froggie: Children will build on independent swimming skills by swimming longer distances and transitioning from swimming on their front to their back.
Turtle: Swimmers will begin to define swim strokes like backstroke, front crawl, and elementary backstroke.
Otter: Build skill, endurance, and confidence on swim strokes. Swimmers also learn dolphin kick, the timing of breaststroke, and will start to learn flip turns.
Seal: Participants progress by strengthening butterfly and breaststroke techniques, and improving endurance by working to swim 150 yards continuously.
Shark: Experienced swimmers will be able to swim multiple lengths of the pool in various competitive strokes and will be skilled in water safety.

SAFETY EDUCATION
ADULT AND PEDIATRIC CPR/AED/FIRST AID

This course equips you with the skills to handle emergencies involving infants to adults, covering first aid, CPR, AED, and more. Post-completion, you’ll be Red Cross certified for two years. The OSHA-compliant classes are available in-person or as a blended learning option. Visit our website for times and dates.

LIFEGUARDING CERTIFICATION COURSE
April 9 - 12 | May 2 | May 15 - 17
The American Red Cross Lifeguarding course equips entry-level lifeguards with skills to handle aquatic emergencies and provide professional care until medical services arrive. It includes Lifeguarding and First Aid/CPR/AED certifications. Participants must be 15 by the final session and attend all three days.

PRIVATE GROUP SAFETY EDUCATION
We offer CPR, Babysitter’s Training, and other Safety Education courses at the Y or at your location for groups of six or more, including businesses, friends and teams.

LIFEGUARDING RE-CERTIFICATION

For American Red Cross certified lifeguards needing to renew their certifications.
Participants, who must be certified or within 30 days of expiration, will take written tests and perform Lifeguarding skills. Limited review is provided, so precourse review is expected.

Volleyball at the YMCA gives kids a solid foundation in fitness while they learn the right skills to play one of the world's most exciting sports!
Tuesday practices will focus on the fundamentals of volleyball like serving, scoring, positions and general game play.
Each league will have games every Saturday to put their newly-learned skills to use.

Children can enjoy our general Adventure Camp or sign up for these specialty camps: Art Camp, Fishing Camp, Horsemanship Camp, Photography Camp, Ropes Course Camp, Water Ski Camp, and Wilderness Camp.
