DAY 1 - YOUR JOURNEY BEGINS IN PARIS You will be met on your arrival in Paris and driven to your central hotel for a two-night stay. Once checked in head out to make the most of your sightseeing pass - your key to the very best sites and experiences in Paris.

DAY 2 - PARIS This morning make your way to the iconic 18th arrondissement for a wonderful food themed tour of Montmartre. Your guide willshare the history behind the area, local shops, and your food selections; as they purchase the best cheeses, fine wines, delicious, cured meats, as well as mouth-watering creps and fresh pastries. In the afternoon why top visit the fantastic Les Caves du Louvre, the royal owned wine cellar from the 18th century to learn all there is to know about French wine.

DAY 3 - PARIS AND THE VENICE SIMPLON-ORIENT-EXPRESS Continue to take advantage of your inclusive pass today, be it one of Paris’ fabulous galleries or a scenic cruise along the river Seine. Later make your way back to your hotel where a driver will meet you and take you to station where you will step aboard the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express. An icon of art deco design, the service onboard is second to none. Your steward will escort you to your sumptuous private cabin, where you can dress to impress for dinner. The sumptuous

restaurant cars are simply breath-taking and following the culinary delight that is the seasonal Table D’hote why not retire to the Bar Car for cocktail’s with like-minder passengers. For the Night Owls there is a midnight brunch available to feast on, and the Pianist will play on until the last passenger retires to their private cabin for a comfortable night’s sleep.

DAY 4 - THE VENICE SIMPLON-ORIENTEXPRESS AND VENICE Be woken by fresh coffee and pastries being delivered to your cabin and watch the beautiful scenery pass by as the train makes its way through Italy. A three-course lunch is served in the dining carriages, and an afternoon tea before your train crosses the famous bridge to the island of Venice. A shared boat transfer will take you to your hotel where you can check-in at your hotel for a three-night stay, then why not visit one of Venice’s many wonderful local restaurants serving delicious, fresh seafood.

DAY 5 - VENICE Meet your guide close to St Mark’s Square this morning, and they will guide you on a fascinating day of sightseeing. The history of both the Doges Palace and Golden Basilica can only be truly appreciated when witnessing the jewels and precious pieces of art they both hold. The hour or so walking tour takes you off the well beaten path to discover some gorgeous squares and buildings that the average visitor to Venice would never find!

DAY 6 - MURANO, BURANO, AND TORCELLO DAY TRIP Take to the water today with a cruise up the Grand Canal, to the islands of Murano, Burano, and Torcello. First with the help of your local guide visit Murano and watch the master glass blowers blow and shape the glass and furnace, as they have been doing since the 10th Century. Next, it’s onto the picturesque Fisherman’s Island that is Burano - famed for its vibrantly coloured buildings and the delicate lace produced by the local ladies. Then, take the short boat ride to Torcello - one of the first of Venice’s islands to be inhabited. Here you can visit the fascinating 7th Century Basilica - one of the most ancient buildings of all Venice, and home to some of the earliest mosaics in the region. Enjoy the boat ride back to St Mark’s Square, and why not toast your holiday tonight in Harry’s Bar - home to the Bellini.

DAY 7 - YOUR JOURNEY ENDS IN VENICE Following breakfast at your hotel a representative will meet you at your hotel and escort you to your private boat for a final cruise along the Grand Canal, and finally the airport for your flight home. DAY 4 - VENICE No visit to Venice would be complete without a gondola ride along the labyrinth of narrow canals. DAY 1 - PARIS Welcome to Paris! After checking into your hotel, perhaps spend the afternoon wandering through the beautiful Luxembourg gardens and immerse yourself in one of the world’s most spectacular cities!

DAY 2 - PARIS Enjoy breakfast at your hotel this morning before spending more time exploring this beautiful city. Your day begins with a guided tour to the summit of the Eiffel Tower, from where you can take time to admire the famous Parisian skyline. Next, it’s time to skip the line and take a trip around the Louvre, admiring the many works of art contained within. Finally, why not stroll through the magnificent Tuileries Garden before taking your river cruise down the Seine? Then the next decision is where in the city to enjoy dinner...

DAY 3 - ONBOARD THE VENICE SIMPLONORIENT-EXPRESS Why not make the most of your morning by exploring more of Paris, perhaps by strolling through the famous Latin Quarter and enjoying a spot of lunch? By mid-afternoon it is time to board the gleaming blue and gold carriages of the famous Venice-Simplon-Orient Express for the start of an epic journey across Europe to Istanbul. Relax as you settle into your luxurious surroundings before enjoying a fourcourse dinner on board. (Overnight on board the Venice-Simplon-Orient Express)

DAY 4 - BUDAPEST Continental breakfast is served in your cabin this morning as the journey continues towards Hungary. After admiring the scenery from the comfort of your cabin, it is soon time to head once

again to the opulent restaurant cars to enjoy a magnificent lunch. After checking into your luxury hotel upon arrival in Budapest, join your fellow travellers for dinner in a local restaurant this evening.

DAY 5 - ONBOARD THE VENICE SIMPLONORIENT-EXPRESS After breakfast, enjoy a morning’s sightseeing with the group in Budapest, taking in both lunch at one of the city’s eateries as well as a cruise on the famous river Danube. Later that afternoon, re-join the train and why not enjoy a pre-dinner aperitif whilst enjoying the piano playing in the bar car, as the journey continues into Romania. DAY 6 - BUCHAREST   Today, following breakfast the train arrives in the mountain town of Sinaia, where you will be taken on a trip to explore the stunning Peles Castle, which was built by King Charles I of Romania in the 1870s and visited by the very first OrientExpress passengers in 1883. After re-joining the train, you will continue for the short journey to Bucharest, followed by a tour of the Romanian capital. Dinner this evening will be served at a private venue.

DAY 7 - ONBOARD THE VENICE SIMPLONORIENT-EXPRESS After enjoying breakfast at your hotel, the journey continues from Romania into Bulgaria. After a sumptuous lunch, the train will stop at the town of Varna on the coast of the Black Sea for a short tour. Afterwards, relax and enjoy both dinner and your final night on board this iconic train journey. (Overnight on board the Venice-SimplonOrient Express)

DAY 8 - ISTANBUL This morning, the train enters Turkey and is soon crossing over the beautiful Thracian Plain. Your steward will once again start the day by serving you breakfast in your cabin. After admiring the scenery from the bar-car and enjoying your final lunch on board, it is time to disembark after completing one of the most iconic rail journeys in the world. Transfer to your hotel and enjoy your first evening in Istanbul - perhaps head to the fashionable Beyoglu district for dinner.

DAY 9 - ISTANBUL Today you will get to know Istanbul better with a full day tour. This will take in many of the highlights of this enchanting city, including the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia and Topkapi Palace. If you’d also like to indulge in a little bit of retail therapy, the tour will also call at the famous Grand Bazaar.

DAY 10 ISTANBUL A new day and a chance to see even more of Istanbul. The highlight of the day may very well be the Bosphorus cruise, which as well as passing Galata Bridge and numerous other places of interest, will also allow you to set foot on a different continent, as you spend an hour exploring the Asian side of Istanbul - the city that straddles two continents!

DAY 11 - YOUR JOURNEY ENDS IN ISTANBUL After breakfast it’s time to check out of your hotel and continue with your onward travels. Maybe you will start reminiscing about an epic journey, with memories that will last a lifetime.

Here step aboard the glorious Golden Pass train and enjoy the luxury of Prestige Class on the direct train to Montreux. As the line drops down towards the lake the views are truly gorgeous, and once you’ve arrived it’s just a short stroll to your hotel for a two-night stay.

A private boat will deliver you to the station safely in time for a morning train to Milan. Change here for the short hop to Tirano, then strap in for some world-class scenery along the Bernina line into Switzerland. After a short ride the train pulls into the port of Trieste where you will enjoy an afternoon tour and if you have the energy, climb the hill to the famous Church of San Giusto built around a medieval complex that dates back to the 13th century.

DAY 6 - LJUBLJANA Enjoy a morning tour of lovely Ljubljana which charms all visitors with its delightful Dragon Bridge and Preseren Square. In the afternoon head to the Inner Carniola region of Slovenia where you’ll explore Predjama Castle, dramatically perched high on a cliff edge. After learning the myths and legends of Erazem of Predjama, ride an underground train deep into the otherworldly Postojna Cave and tour its network of magnificent halls, myriad of cave formations and mysterious animals.

DAY 7 - SARAJEVO AND MOSTAR The train pulls into the Bosnian capital early in the morning, and the history of this ancient city will be brought to life for you by your local guide. They will lead you on a poignant tour exploring the mosques and minarets of the cities ancient center, as well as the physical and mental scars of modern warfare and Sarajevo’s more recent history. Following lunch in Sarajevo the train follows a very scenic line to the small city of Mostar, which was once one of the most important cities in the Ottoman Empire and renowned for its stone arch bridge linking the Christian and Muslim areas. The bridge was

destroyed in the war but rebuild in 2004 and now a symbol of unity. From here, it’s a luxury coach ride to Dubrovnik for an overnight stay.

DAY 8 - DUBROVNIK Famed as one of the most beautiful cities of the Mediterranean, Dubrovnik surpasses all expectations as a destination. A short tour giving you in-depth knowledge about some of the key buildings and historical points prior to enjoy some free time to explore the narrow streets. In the afternoon its back to the train which is now in Capljina, a small town near the border, where you will enjoy dinner and depart from Serbia.

DAY 9 - BELGRADE Arrive this morning at the former capital of Yugoslavia, Belgrade which is located at the meeting point between the Danube and Sava rivers. A full day is spent here taking in this cosmopolitan city’s rich history, including medieval tombs, Turkish baths and the mausoleum of Josip Tito.

DAY 10 - SKOPJE AND THESSALONIKI Skopje is a Macedonian city full of Ottoman influences, and rarely visited. There’s time to wander through the Old Bazaar and marvel at the 15th century Stone Bridge before returning to the train for lunch. The train crosses into Greece in time for an early evening tour of vibrant Thessaloniki, and this evening you’ll enjoy a wonderful al-fresco fresh seafood dinner.

DAY 11 - SOFIA AND PLOVDIV The golden domed Alexander Nevksy Cathedral in Sofia is one of the worlds larges Eastern Orthodox churches, and truly a sight to behold. Your morning tour of Sofia takes this in, together with sections of the Roman wall still standing, as well as the ancient church of St George and the Turkish Bashi Mosque. Lunch is enjoyed on the train prior to arriving in Plovdiv, Bulgaria’s second city. ‘The City of Seven Hills’ is one of the oldest cities in Europe and your afternoon is spent exploring the Roman Forum and Amphitheatre, Ottoman baths and medieval walls.

DAY 12 - ISTANBUL This morning you will arrive in the great city of Istanbul, where you will stay for 2-nights. A city that defies your imagination in its cultural riches and beauty, Istanbul has been a focal point for humanity for millennia. It has been both the center of the Christian and Muslim worlds and spread over the busy Bosporus Straits spanning both Europe and Asia. Today is a real highlight with a tour of the breath-taking Alhambra Palace. Enjoy some free time in this captivating building and romantic Jardines del Generalife before touring the ancient neighbourhoods of Albicin and Sacramonte. Visit Spain’s first Renaissance cathedral, stroll the evocative narrow streets and alleyways before relaxing for dinner in a local restaurant.

DAY 10 – AL ANDALUS, GRANADA MALAGA Following your final night onboard the train, say goodbye to your cabin and the staff onboard as you take a coach to Malaga. DAY 7 - TRANSCANTABRICO (CABEZÓN DE LA SAL - ARRIONDAS) Your first stop today will be Santillana del Mar, a pretty village with a beautifully preserved medieval centre. Then it is on to Altamira and its breath-taking cave art, arguably the finest example of late Stone Age art known. Following lunch, you will travel by rail to the seaside resort of Ribadesella for some fresh Atlantic air before finally arriving in the riverside village of Arriondas.

DAY 8 - TRANSCANTABRICO (ARRIONDAS - CANDÁS) After breakfast it’s a coach ride deep into the Picos de Europa National Park, the heart of the Asturias region. Enjoy visiting mountain framed lakes and spectacular Cantabrian views, then visit the spectacular Sanctuary of Covadonga, a sacred shrine tucked away in a cave high in the mountains. DAY 2 - DELHI/PALACE ON WHEELS Enjoy breakfast at your hotel this morning before embarking on a half-day city tour of Old Delhi. Visit the 17th century Jama Masjid and take a rickshaw ride through the bustling Chandni Chowk bazaar. Also visit Raj Ghat where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated. After sightseeing, you will be transferred to Delhi’s Safdarjung Railway Station to embark on the Palace on Wheels train. Enjoy getting familiar with your luxurious surroundings onboard.

DAY 3 - JAIPUR This morning, enjoy breakfast in the comfort of your sleeper cabin onboard before disembarking for your exciting day tour of Jaipur, the capital city of Rajasthan. It’s popularly known as the ‘Pink City’ because of its famously hued palaces and structures. Tour the city in an air-conditioned luxury coach, discovering the impressive Hawa Mahal, or the Palace of Winds, Albert Hall and the City Palace, home of the royal family, and the Jantar Mantar, one of the largest observatories in India. DAY 6 - JAISALMER After breakfast in your sleeper cabin this morning, you will disembark the train in Jaisalmer, in the heart of the Thar Desert. Founded in 1,156 A.D., the imposing sandstone fort is a sight to behold. Return to the train for lunch, followed by an exciting camel ride through the desert. DAY 8 - BHARATPUR - AGRA Early this morning, disembark in Bharatpur for a visit to the world-famous bird sanctuary, Keoladeo Ghana National Park - the nesting place of thousands of egrets, Siberian cranes, migratory water fowl, and many other species of birds. DAY 2 - CAPE TOWN Enjoy a private half-day city tour, passing iconic landmarks like the Castle of Good Hope, St. George’s Cathedral, Company Gardens, and the vibrant Bo-Kaap neighborhood. Experience a sparkling tour, witnessing the art of diamond cutting and jewelry craftsmanship.

DAY 5 - OVERNIGHT ONBOARD ROVOS RAIL – KIMBERLY Breakfast and Lunch are served onboard, before pulling into Kimberly. Hop off for a tour including a visit to the Diamond Mine Museum, and the monumental Big Hole, then it’s back onboard for tea, and dinner en route to Klerksdorop.

DAY 6 - OVERNIGHT ONBOARD ROVOS RAIL – PRETORIA Enjoy a leisurely breakfast onboard, then a city tour of Pretoria, and a wonderful lunch served on the Rovos Rail Station platform. Following a tour of the locomotive workshop, the train departs for Zeerust, and dinner is enjoyed onboard.

DAY 7 - ROVOS RAIL – MADIKWE GAME RESERVE Following a relaxing morning, the train stops, and you will be transferred to the fabulous Madikwe game lodge for a two-night stay on Terra-firma. Following lunch head out on the first of your four game drives and be amazed at the sheer volume of wildlife, all accessible in their natural habitat. This is prime Big 5 territory, so make sure your cameras are fully charged!

DAY 8 - ROVOS RAIL – MADIKWE GAME RESERVE Today is all about the wildlife and get out nice and early today for a morning game drive. Breakfast and lunch are both served back at the lodge, and then another game drive before a casual dinner.

DAY 9 - OVERNIGHT ONBOARD ROVOS RAIL – MADIKWE GAME RESERVE & BOTSWANA One final game drive this morning, before a transfer to the train at Gaborone in Botswana. After the formal border crossing lunch is enjoyed as the train crosses the Tropic of Capricorn and skirts the cast Kalahari Basin.

DAY 10 - OVERNIGHT ONBOARD ROVOS RAIL – BOTSWANA & ZIMBABWE Experience a leisurely day aboard the train as it traverses Botswana. Enjoy informative lectures throughout the journey and remember to book any desired activities for Victoria Falls before lunch. In the afternoon, the train will pass through Gwaai and Dete, traveling along a remarkable 114km straight railway line along the eastern edge of Hwange National Park.

DAY 11 - OVERNIGHT ONBOARD ROVOS RAIL – VICTORIA FALLS Upon arrival at Victoria Falls around lunchtime, you will be escorted to the exquisite Victoria Falls Hotel. DAY 14 - OVERNIGHT ONBOARD ROVOS RAIL – ZAMBIA Today the train travels along the TAZARA railway line, an amazing piece of engineering and one of Africa’s best-kept secrets as it passes through remote territory.
