DAY 1 - YOUR JOURNEY BEGINS IN PARIS

You will be met on your arrival in Paris and driven to your central hotel for a two-night stay. Once checked in head out to make the most of your sightseeing pass - your key to the very best sites and experiences in Paris.

DAY 2 - PARIS

This morning make your way to the iconic 18th arrondissement for a wonderful food themed tour of Montmartre. Your guide willshare the history behind the area, local shops, and your food selections; as they purchase the best cheeses, fine wines, delicious, cured meats, as well as mouth-watering creps and fresh pastries. In the afternoon why top visit the fantastic Les Caves du Louvre, the royal owned wine cellar from the 18th century to learn all there is to know about French wine.

DAY 3 - PARIS AND THE VENICE SIMPLON-ORIENT-EXPRESS

Continue to take advantage of your inclusive pass today, be it one of Paris’ fabulous galleries or a scenic cruise along the river Seine. Later make your way back to your hotel where a driver will meet you and take you to station where you will step aboard the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express. An icon of art deco design, the service onboard is second to none. Your steward will escort you to your sumptuous private cabin, where you can dress to impress for dinner. The sumptuous

restaurant cars are simply breath-taking and following the culinary delight that is the seasonal Table D’hote why not retire to the Bar Car for cocktail’s with like-minder passengers. DAY 4 - THE VENICE SIMPLON-ORIENTEXPRESS AND VENICE

Be woken by fresh coffee and pastries being delivered to your cabin and watch the beautiful scenery pass by as the train makes its way through Italy. A three-course lunch is served in the dining carriages, and an afternoon tea before your train crosses the famous bridge to the island of Venice. DAY 5 - VENICE

Meet your guide close to St Mark’s Square this morning, and they will guide you on a fascinating day of sightseeing. The history of both the Doges Palace and Golden Basilica can only be truly appreciated when witnessing the jewels and precious pieces of art they both hold. The hour or so walking tour takes you off the well beaten path to discover some gorgeous squares and buildings that the average visitor to Venice would never find!

DAY 6 - MURANO, BURANO, AND TORCELLO DAY TRIP

Take to the water today with a cruise up the Grand Canal, to the islands of Murano, Burano, and Torcello. First with the help of your local guide visit Murano and watch the master glass blowers blow and shape the glass and furnace, as they have been doing since the 10th Century. Next, it’s onto the picturesque Fisherman’s Island that is Burano - famed for its vibrantly coloured buildings and the delicate lace produced by the local ladies. Then, take the short boat ride to Torcello - one of the first of Venice’s islands to be inhabited. Here you can visit the fascinating 7th Century Basilica - one of the most ancient buildings of all Venice, and home to some of the earliest mosaics in the region. Enjoy the boat ride back to St Mark’s Square, and why not toast your vacation tonight in Harry’s Bar - home to the Bellini.

DAY 7 - YOUR JOURNEY ENDS IN VENICE

DAY 3 - ONBOARD THE VENICE SIMPLONORIENT-EXPRESS

By mid-afternoon it is time to board the gleaming blue and gold carriages of the famous Venice-Simplon-Orient Express for the start of an epic journey across Europe to Istanbul. DAY 4 - BUDAPEST

Continental breakfast is served in your cabin this morning as the journey continues towards Hungary. After admiring the scenery from the comfort of your cabin, it is soon time to head once

DAY 5 - ONBOARD THE VENICE SIMPLONORIENT-EXPRESS

After breakfast, enjoy a morning’s sightseeing with the group in Budapest, taking in both lunch at one of the city’s eateries as well as a cruise on the famous river Danube. DAY 6 - BUCHAREST

Today, following breakfast the train arrives in the mountain town of Sinaia, where you will be taken on a trip to explore the stunning Peles Castle, which was built by King Charles I of Romania in the 1870s and visited by the very first OrientExpress passengers in 1883. After re-joining the train, you will continue for the short journey to Bucharest, followed by a tour of the Romanian capital. Dinner this evening will be served at a private venue.

DAY 7 - ONBOARD

After enjoying breakfast at your hotel, the journey continues from Romania into Bulgaria. After a sumptuous lunch, the train will stop at the town of Varna on the coast of the Black Sea for a short tour. DAY 9 - ISTANBUL

Today you will get to know Istanbul better with a full day tour. This will take in many of the highlights of this enchanting city, including the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia and Topkapi Palace. If you’d also like to indulge in a little bit of retail therapy, the tour will also call at the famous Grand Bazaar.

DAY 10 ISTANBUL

A new day and a chance to see even more of Istanbul. The highlight of the day may very well be the Bosphorus cruise, which as well as passing Galata Bridge and numerous other places of interest, will also allow you to set foot on a different continent, as you spend an hour exploring the Asian side of Istanbul - the city that straddles two continents!

DAY 11 - YOUR JOURNEY ENDS IN ISTANBUL

DAY 4 - VENICE

Enjoy a light breakfast in your cabin, followed by scenic views as the train heads south. Relax onboard before crossing the bridge to Venice. After disembarking, a boat will transport you to your hotel for a three-night stay.

DAY 5 - VENICE

A day of exploring lies ahead today, as Venice is all yours! Included today are skip-the-line tickets to the legendary Doges Palace and the ancient St Marks Basilica. Later enjoy the most Venetian of experiences, a private gondola ride.

A private boat will deliver you to the station safely in time for a morning train to Milan. DAY 11 - MONTREUX

Enjoy a day exploring the glorious Swiss Riviera today, thanks to your included Swiss Pass. Be it a cruise on Lake Geneva, visit the iconic Châteaux Chillon, or perhaps take a trip to the pretty village of Gruyere – home of the famous cheese.

DAY 12 - PARIS

Take the train to Geneva, then speed past the Jura Mountain en-route to Paris. Here you will be met by a driver and taken to your hotel for final night’s stay.

Welcome to Rome! Following your flight, you will be met on arrival and transferred to your hotel to check-in for a 2-night stay. That evening head out to get your bearings. Rome is very walkable, and the Trevi Fountain really is best viewed at night, as is the ancient Pantheon. Piazza Navona is a beautiful setting for dinner.

DAY 2 - ROME

Enjoy a leisurely morning today, perhaps with a stroll up the Spanish Steps then around the beautiful Borghese Gardens. In the afternoon join a very small group and skip the line into the unmistakable Colosseum and tread in the footsteps of Gladiators, then learn all there is to know about the fantastic Roman Forum - the center of the Roman Empire! Let us know if you would like to visit the unbelievable Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel and St Peter’s Basilicaearly morning is best to avoid the crowds.

DAY 3 - FLORENCE

Following breakfast make your way to the station for your high-speed train to Florence. In just over 1.5hrs you will be pulling to the train station, and from here make your way to the hotel for a 2-night stay.Florence is surprisingly compact and a stroll along the banks of the Arno to the gorgeous Ponte Vecchio is a lovely way to work up an appetite for dinner.

DAY 4 - FLORENCE

A full day of sightseeing lies ahead today with a small group morning tour led by a local is a brilliant way to learn the vast history of this ancient city. You will visit the Accademia Gallery to see first had Michelangelo’s David, then on to visit Florence’s beautiful Cathedral. Relax for lunch in one of the cities many fine restaurants, then in the afternoon make your way to the Uffizi gallery for a90min tour. DAY 5 - FLORENCE AND THE VENICE SIMPLON-ORIENT-EXPRESS

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel then some more sightseeing before being making your way to the station for a departure to remember! DAY 6 - PARIS

The train pulls into Paris in late morning, and here you bid farewell to your cabin and are driven to your hotel for a 2-night stay. Cross over to the breathtaking Isle of Skye and travel along island’s east coast past the stunning Red Cuillin Mountains to Sligachan, where you stop for a photo of the clear mountain waters. Following a stop in Porttree for lunch your tour continues to the most famous scenery of the island at the Trotternish Peninsula. The Old Man of Storr, Kilt Rock, and the Quiraing are all unforgettably beautiful. Depart the train in Unquera and cross the impressive gorge of La Hermina en-route to the charming Cantabrian village of Potes and beautiful views of the Liébana Valley. Then, perhaps take a dip at the Hermida Spa and rejoin the train for lunch and continue to Cabezón de la Sal where you will have some free time to explore. Before a visit Comillas’ El Capricho - a fantastically colourful 19th Century house designed by a certain Antonio Gaudi.

Your first stop today will be Santillana del Mar, a pretty village with a beautifully preserved medieval centre. Then it is on to Altamira and its breath-taking cave art, arguably the finest example of late Stone Age art known. DAY 7 OVERNIGHT ONBOARD ROVOS RAIL

DAY 8 PRETORIA

Breakfast is served onboard the train and then you have another morning to relax and enjoy the onboard facilities on the train. Lunch is served in the restaurant cars and then, in the early evening, you’ll pull into the station at Pretoria and disembark. A private transfer will be waiting to take your luxury hotel (Castello di Monte or similar).

DAY 9 KRUGER NATIONAL PARK

Transfer to the airport this morning, for a short flight to one of the world’s largest and most popular game reserves, a true bucket-list destination for those who love experiencing wildlife and adventure. On arrival, you will be escorted to your luxury resort (Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge, or similar) for a three-night stay.

DAY 10 KRUGER NATIONAL PARK

Included for your whole time in the park are open vehicle safaris by day and night, entrance fees, environmental awareness walks, and all meals and drinks. You will have an abundance of chances to traverse the terrain in search of the ‘Big Five’, and in the evening your accommodation will offer expansive decks and luxurious surroundings to enjoy the star-studded African skies at night.

DAY 11 KRUGER NATIONAL PARK

Spend a final day in this wildlife paradise today. Whether it’s out-tracking a pride of lions or watching a herd of elephants quenching their thirst at a watering hole, this is the place to see it. With over 135 mammals and 500 varieties of birds, it truly is a jaw-dropping experience just being here.

DAY 12 JOHANNESBURG

Bid farewell to Kruger National Park as you are escorted to the local airport for a flight back to Johannesburg. Here you will be met and transferred to your luxury, city center hotel for a two-night stay.

DAY 13 JOHANNESBURG

Enjoy an exclusive Johannesburg city tour, exploring its rich history and vibrant Soweto neighborhoods. Visit Constitution Hill, the Old Fort Prison, Walter Sisulu Square, and the Hector Pieterson Memorial.
