WHAT ARE

E S S E N T IAL OIL S? Lovingly harvested from farm-grown and wildcrafted plants, herbs, and trees, essential oils are concentrated plant extracts obtained by careful steam distillation, cold pressing, or resin tapping. These pure essential oils are far more powerful than the botanicals from which they are extracted. We offer hundreds of single oils, blends and oil-infused products, each containing the optimal levels of specific, naturally occurring constituents to maximise their potency. Whether you use oils for aromatherapy, personal care or household solutions, every aspect of daily life can benefit from the incorporation of essential oils.

HOW TO USE E S SENTIAL OIL S

Topically Many essential oils are safe and beneficial to use directly on the skin.

• Place 2–3 drops of essential oil directly on the desired area and massage in. Repeat as desired. Always follow the label’s dilution instructions.

• Rub 2–3 drops of essential oil between your palms and inhale.

Caution: Essential oils are very potent and may be irritating to the skin.

If irritation occurs, apply Young Living V-6® Vegetable Oil Complex or any pure vegetable oil to the area to dilute. Citrus-based oils and blends may cause temporary photosensitivity.

Internally When taking our Plus essential oil food supplements internally, try these tips: • Place several drops of your chosen Plus oil/s into a gelatin capsule and swallow with water.

• Add 1–2 drops of your chosen Plus oil/s to a glass of water, NingXia Red®, juice, yoghurt, your favourite sweetener of choice or plant-based milk and swallow.

• Add 1–2 drops of your chosen Plus oil/s (to taste) to meals when cooking.

DIY LOOFAH SOAP Makes about 15 soaps I N G R E D I E N TS : 3 natural loofah sponges about 5–6 inches long each 2 pounds clear glycerin soap Soap dye Your favourite Young Living essential oils Round silicone moulds about 3 inches in diameter

I N ST R U CT I O N S : 1. Cut the loofah sponge into 1-inch-wide disks and place them in the mould, lying flat.

2. Cut the glycerin soap into about 30g squares. Put 2 squares in a microwavable bowl and microwave on high for 30 seconds or until melted.

3. Add 3–4 drops of soap dye and 3–4 drops of your favourite essential oil to the melted glycerin soap.

Mix well.

4. Pour the glycerin soap mixture into the mould, fully covering the loofah sponge.

5. Repeat until all the loofahs are covered with glycerin soap. Let them dry for 2–3 hours, pop the soaps out of the mould, and lather up!

Ord River Sandalwood Farm and Distillery Kununurra , Australia While this farm is headquartered in Perth, the sandalwood plantations extend across Australia’s tropical northern outback, and the distillery is located south in Albany. The Ord River Sandalwood Farm and Distillery developed its own seed orchards, which allow for continual improvement of the seed stock. The farm is the world’s largest sandalwood distillery and for its water conservation efforts—the farm has recycled nearly 800,000 gallons of water since 2010—has received the prestigious Champion Award from the Western AU Water Corp.

For starters, we’ll plant 5,000 ocotea trees on the farm’s 120 acres, which will help accelerate oxygen production. The farm will rely on the region’s year-round rainfall and will use only non-GMO seeds that are cultivated through natural pollination. In time, wildlife corridors will surround the farm, creating vital links between habitats that protect and re-establish threatened populations.

Kalipay provides Young Living with our main source of coconut oil. Ningxia Wolfberry Farm and Distillery Ningxia , China

While travelling the world, Gary Young encountered the powerful wolfberry native to China’s remote Ningxia region. This region hosts a diverse geography of forest mountains and hills, deserts, flood plains, and basins carved by the Yellow River. The significant irrigation from the river supports the production of wolfberries, wolfberry puree, and wolfberry seed oil. Gary knew the world needed access to this special fruit and partnered with the family-owned Ningxia Wolfberry Farm and Distillery as the provider for our popular NingXia Red® line and other products.
