*While DGL focuses on students in challenging economic and developing world situations, students in developed European countries participate in the same program to bring light where there is spiritual poverty.

In 2009, the DGL program launched with 99 full-ride scholarships awarded to international Young Life leaders each responsible to recruit 5 new leaders.
