I grew up in a mining community where money was tight. My childhood was shaped by t w o v e r y d i f fe re n t i n f l u e n c e s — my m ot h e r, a d ev ote d p ra y e r w a r r i o r, a n d my fa t h e r, who struggled with alcohol. This contrast left me confused at times, but I chose to follow my mother’s example. Church was optional in our home, but I’m thankful I went. In 2018, I gave my life to Christ and everything began to shift. M y f i r s t e x p e r i e n c e w i t h Yo u n g L i f e w a s a t camp, where I felt Jesus speak into my heart o n c e a g a i n . Not l o n g a f te r, I s te p p e d i n to l e a d e r s h i p w i t h Yo u n g L i f e , e a g e r t o h e l p others find the same hope I did.
Now a s a D ev e l o p i n g G l o b a l Le a d e r, I am studying Entrepreneurship and Business Management at Lupane State University. My hope is to leverage my education and experience to secure a leadership role that drives growth and innovation, while also serving others through ministry and community service

This contrast left me confused at times, but I chose to follow my mother’s example. Church was optional in our home, but I’m thankful I went. I l i v e w i t h my m ot h e r, a n d my 3 s i b l i n g s . My dad, Asfaw, is a farmer and my mom, Lidiya, is at home. I will be the first in my family to attend university. When I was little my father left, and it left a deep emptiness in me. For a long time, I tried to find value in school achievements, but I still felt empty inside. I struggled with unforgiveness and constant financial hardship. A friend invited me to church when I was 1 2 y e a r s o l d . T h e w o r s h i p a n d t h e Wo rd o f God gave me joy, and a few months later I a c c e pte d J e s u s a s my p e r s o n a l S a v i o r. .
G o d h e l p e d m e fo rg i v e my fa t h e r, and for the first time I felt free and loved. A friend later invited m e t o Yo u n g L i f e a n d G o d u s e d the invitation to grow my faith and calling as a campaigner and l e a d e r.
To d a y , I ’ m a Te a m L e a d e r with 3 clubs and I am also a g o s p e l s i n g e r, w o r s h i p team l e a d e r, and youth leader in my church. Now a Developing Global Le a d e r, I s t u d y T h e o l o g y because I want to know God and lead adolescents to know Him too
