Neck or Back Pain The most common cause is muscle injury, when muscle fibres are overstretched and they tear.

BACK

May feel: Dull or sharp pain, or burning sensation at the back Stiffness or aching along the spine area Constant middle/lower back pain

To self-manage: Apply hot or cold packs to the affected area Improve workspace ergonomics (for example, re-adjust desk height or placement of computer screens)

Use of anti-inflammatory medications or muscle relaxants

NECK

May feel: Numbness or tingling sensation in the arm area Sharp, shooting pain or dull, aching sensation in the neck region

May occur due to: Repetitive overuse of muscles Excessive strenuous physical activities Poor muscle tone Muscle tension or spasm
