Foreign Affairs Minister Murrumu of Walubara said “With our sovereign authority, the Yidindji nation is here to assist the government of the Commonwealth of Australia. If Scott Morrison wants to make Australia even greater, then as the Prime Minister he must not only consider the Yidindji offer of a road map to treaty, but also action this with seriousness and as a matter of urgency”.

Last year, representatives of the Sovereign Yidindji Government delivered a treaty concept document for the then Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull to consider.

“Prime Minister Morrison has an opportunity to write a new chapter in the Commonwealth of Australia's history. He has already shown leadership by reappointing Nigel Scullion to the position of Minister of Indigenous Affairs. We know the Yidindji nation can not force its friendship upon the Commonwealth of Australia, this would be wrong. But it is the hope and desire of the men &

women of the Yidindji nation that we secure the future and settle the past together in way of a successfully concluded formal agreement.” said Murrumu of Walubara.

In recent years the Sovereign Yidindji Government has created legal mechanisms to assist with the treaty process.

On the appointment of Tony Abbott as a Special Envoy, Minister Walubara said “The Yidindji nation is more than happy to welcome Anthony John Abbott to the Yidindji territory. If Mr. Abbott has the authority to act on behalf of the Commonwealth of Australia and or the Prime Minister and if it is to engage with our offer of a road map to treaty, then let's do business.”

An invitation is being furnished to invite the Prime Minister of the government of the Commonwealth of Australia to attend official talks in the city of Gimuy.
