Public Notice Australia Day Thursday the 18th day of January 2018. The Sovereign Yidindji Government under the authority of the Yidindji Tribal Council of Elders, make known to the whole world that the Sovereign Yidindji Government neither condemns nor condones Australia Day that is celebrated as part of the culture of Australia, and does not condone any actions by Australian citizens that cause harm or injury to the Commonwealth of Australia or its citizens. The Sovereign Yidindji Government now make known to the world that: 1. The Sovereign Yidindji Government wishes that all Australian citizens who choose to celebrate and enjoy their Australia Day celebration in safety, and peace, in harmony with the culture of Australia. 2. The Sovereign Yidindji Government not being invited to participate in the life of the Commonwealth of Australia does not recognise Australia Day as being part of the culture of the Yidindji Nation, has its own national day on the 7th of January. 3. The Sovereign Yidindji Government and the Yidindji Nation are not affected or impacted by the current date as declared to be Australia Day. 4. The Sovereign Yidindji Government does not condone any actions that may cause harm or injury to the Commonwealth of Australia, the Australian Constitution, the Australian Citizens, or any of the representations of the Commonwealth of Australia. 5. The Sovereign Yidindji Government condemns any actions that lead to the injury, desecration, destruction or harm, in part or in whole, of the official Australian flags. 6. The Sovereign Yidindji Government does not support any protests or actions that are unlawful under Australian Law, or International Law, or disrupt others in their enjoyment of Australia Day. 7. The Sovereign Yidindji Government encourages all Australian citizens to abide by the laws of the Commonwealth of Australia, and the laws of the States in which they reside. 8. The Sovereign Yidindji Government encourages all Australian citizens to use democratic principles to resolve any issues that arise regarding the date of celebration of Australia Day.
