FOREST RETREAT MINIMALISTIC ORGANIC LUXURY The restraints of this project required a tiny house with a ground floor plan of less than 300 square feet and the overall height of the structure to be at most 20 feet tall. I envisioned this home as a vacation or rental property, but with all the luxuries of modern daily living if someone wanted to live there full time. I wanted it to feel like a private getaway in the trees and have the house be an experience in itself. Limiting the size of the structure reduces the negative impact on the environment while the user can still enjoy the surroundings.

The layered finished are reminiscent of mid-century modern design but with a contemporary take and a forest color palette. Raw materials create a rugged connection to the outdoors the contrasts the polished finishes for a sophisticated composition.

The two-story layout maximizes the amount of square footage while limiting the overall footprint and land development. Each floor has separate zones- upstairs is for daytime or entertaining and to relax at night the downstairs is partially subterranean for an Intimate space.
Diagram A. Depicts the false kitchen cabinet for a seamless appearance upstairs and head clearance for the stairs. To maximize space, there is storage under the stairs. In plan B.1. The combination washer-dryer is placed under the platform and accessed through the bathroom. The clothing rods and built-in dresser seamlessly fit under the steps for maximum storage seen in plan B.2.
The asymmetrical architecture emerges from the ground inviting the viewer to this hidden gem. As a vacation home, it would be enjoyed during the summer so the accordion doors can stay open for indoor-outdoor living. The kitchen provides ample storage, which doesn’t obstruct the forest landscape, viewable from the counter stools. The bathroom appears carved out of the hillside, illuminated by the skylight above, spilling into the bedroom. The at-first humble appearing home opens up at the south-facing backyard to something much grander. BATHROOM RENDER

RE-INVENTING HOME WARM ECLECTIC SOPHISTICATION A Pacific Northwest craftsman bungalow, accented with mid-century, is tailored for a retiring couple. Meticulously designed for graceful aging in place, the interiors feature seamlessly integrated accessible features. The chosen color palette takes cues from the region’s natural beauty, reflecting the couple’s deep appreciation for nature. This careful fusion not only mirrors the surrounding landscape but also crafts a personalized and timeless haven, providing the couple with a serene and stylish backdrop for the next chapter of their lives.

Because they intend to age in place, everything they need is on the main floor, including the primary suite. The open floor plans allows for mobility aids in the future, if needed. For extra privacy the primary suite is separate from the entertaining space. In section A, the primary bathroom features mid-century ADA compliant faucets and sinks. Anyone can enter the curbless roll-in shower, sit on the shower bench to bathe with the handheld shower head.
MULTI HEIGHT ADAPTABLE STORAGE LOWER COUNTER
In section B, a hidden hamper in the laundry room in accessed through a hinged laundry chute door in the primary closet. In section C, the kitchen island’s dual height provides an alternate work surface for those who can’t stand. The floor to ceiling pantry provides more storage at accessible heights. The wainscoting throughout provide a place to rest or grab on to when maneuvering through the home.

PRIMARY BATHROOM The small and matte tile creates a nonslip floor, and the black rosette pattern and border give context and defines areas of the room for those with visual impairment. Both the sink and shower faucet levers are accessible for easy grasping.

BRIGHT MODERN TEXTURES A school cafe seamlessly transitions into an inviting restaurant, boasting an open plan with contrasting accents defining distinct areas. The integration of a classic arch motif into modern architecture creates a captivating sculptural element, bathed in a sophisticated color palette. This fusion enhances the dining experience, providing a visually compelling and contemporary ambiance. The rounded convex columns create an arch within the negative space visible from all directions.
These renderings depict the sculptural arch forms that create moments of intimacy in the ample space. The warm atmospheric lighting highlights the array of finishes. Layers of textured break up the soft color palette for a calm and refreshing space. The tasteful materials are durable and can be properly sanitized to withstand the wear of a shared space.

CREATIVE MULTIPURPOSE HISTORICISM An Interior Design Studio, challenging what an office should be. To bridge the gap between a contemporary business and historical antiquities, the space is shared with a combined retail and exhibition of vintage furniture. Promoting small retailers, exhibiting the firm’s skills, while taking a more sustainable approach to design. The materiality and geometry honor and reference the site of the Ferry Building located in San Francisco, California.

The building’s iconic architecture, blending Beaux-Arts style with classical elements, provides a distinctive and inspiring setting for creative work.
The bustling atmosphere of the Ferry Building, frequented by both locals and tourists, provides an ideal platform to showcase and sell curated vintage furniture collections. This strategic combination of historical charm, foot traffic, and local design ethos ensures a dynamic and thriving business deeply rooted in the heart of the city.

The front area features a small storefront dedicated to vintage furniture from local sellers, closed off during office hours for a professional setting and seamlessly integrated after 5. Connected by a visually striking red path inspired by the Golden Gate Bridge, it guides visitors from the ferry building, emphasizing the curated vintage pieces. The in office showroom strategically occupies a high-traffic space, ensuring prime visibility for their sustainable, locally sourced collection. This approach not only showcases the firm’s staging prowess but also supports smaller businesses, contributing to a more ecoconscious and vibrant local economy.

VIBRANT TRANSLUCENT MODULARITY Falling petals converge to create an interactive, adaptable modular pavilion for any interior. Utilizing completely 3D printed joinery, the design allows effortless disassembly for sustainable transportation. DYNAMIC ELUSIVE TESSELLATION A tessellation made of a 12-sided radial scissor mechanism. Challenging the simple and geometric movement of the scissors, the design is comprised of overlapping flower petal shapes, so the movement appears fluid. The partially engraved acrylic creates intricate patterns of transparency as the tessellation opens and closes.

INTERNSHIP Contributed to budget and material palette flatlay photoshoots for a luxury condo tower’s public spaces. Solely managed postproduction for all photos and sample procurement, ensuring a seamless and visually captivating representation of the project.
