What is Ubuntu?

There is a word in South Africa – Ubuntu – a philosophy that describes a oneness in humanity; that we as a collective people can achieve our shared aims and goals in life if we each do our part to accomplish them. In fact, Nelson Mandela and Bishop Desmond Tutu used this word -Ubuntu- to unite all of South Africa to end apartheid.

It is a word that means – I AM BECAUSE WE ARE.
