Goodbye Wyndham, hello GO by Raymond James BY CAROL BROOKS FREELANCE WRITER cab1hp@gmail.com
It is now official. After several days of rumors, the Piedmont Triad Charitable Foundation, which puts on the annual golf tournament at Sedgefield Country Club, announced Aug. 12 the new sponsor of what until Aug. 11 was the Wyndham Championship. Beginning in 2027, Raymond James will be the new sponsor of the tournament now called GO by Raymond James. The name is a nod to the original name, Greater Greensboro Open, or GGO.
Perhaps the more important information to local residents — the tournament will stay at Sedgefield. Even more good news, GO by Raymond James will be part of the new PGA Tour Championship Series beginning in 2028. This is a major upgrade to the former GGO, which was formed at Sedgefield in 1938. “We wanted to be one of the big deals in the state,” said Mark Brazil, CEO, Piedmont Triad Charitable Foundation of the group’s year-long search for a

Village Fair crafters and vendors wanted BY CAROL BROOKS FREELANCE WRITER cab1hp@gmail.com The 22st annual Village Fair will return to Mendenhall Homeplace on Sept. 19 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The fun-filled event is a great opportunity for children, as well as adults, to learn how people lived and worked many, many years ago through interaction with heritage trade exhibitors. The Richard Mendenhall homeplace, 603 W. Main St., is 215 years old and many of the crafts that will be on display were familiar to the Mendenhall family and the Jamestown community of that time. Can you turn a gourd into a ladle or know someone who can? Several heritage trade exhibitors will be in period attire. Heritage trades include spinning, quilting, metal work, woodworking, weaving, hat making, chair caning, basket making, sewing, cobblers, leather crafts, blacksmithing and farming, to name a few. If you would like to participate as a heritage trade exhibitor, craft vendor or storyteller/history interpreter

Quaker Woods history protected by Land Conservancy BY CAROL BROOKS FREELANCE WRITER cab1hp@gmail.com Unknown to many, the Quaker Woods in Greensboro has seen a wealth of history in its lifetime, ranging from settlements by indigenous people to participation in the Underground Railroad. Now, it will be preserved forever. “Guilford Woods on the Guilford College campus has stood at the heart of Greensboro for centuries – long before the city existed, long before the roads and subdivisions and shopping centers that surround it today. What remains is 140 acres of mature hardwood forest carrying an extraordinary history.” So reads the Piedmont Land Conservancy description of Guilford Woods. On July 30 of this year, the PLC closed an agreement with Guilford College to protect 140

New Lunch & Learn series available for dementia care partners BY NORMA B. DENNIS FREELANCE WRITER ndworddesign@gmail.com Watching loved ones slowly lose their memories until they no longer even remember who you are is devastating. Finding resources to help them and you navigate that journey can be difficult as well. Jamestown United Methodist Church, 403 E. Main St., is using its facility to support care partners of those with dementia. Two free programs are already available, which are open to all the community. A new Lunch & Learn series will begin on Sept. 8 in the church fellowship hall and will be held each second Tuesday of the month from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. This program is also free and open to the community. The committee coordinating the program includes Laura Gulledge, Melissa Moore, Sally Ledbetter and Janice Baynard. “We realized caregivers needed

We are not trying to reinvent the wheel, but take advantage of what is already available.” A simple box lunch will be provided, so RSVPs are required for this meeting. Any dietary restrictions will need to be noted. “Some presenters will provide the lunch and others will just do the

Never underestimate the value of volunteering. When one volunteers, it could lead to a paying job. That is what happened to Jamestown resident Annie Laura Purdue, who recently retired after a 50-year association with Old Mill of Guilford, located on Hwy. 68 in Oak Ridge. The water-powered gristmill had been built in 1767 on Beaver Creek so settlers would have a place to have their grains ground into flour/meal. Throughout its long history the mill was moved numerous times. Today’s technology has upgraded the milling process, but the mill continues to produce all-natural, stone-ground, whole-grain foods, just as it has for over 240 years. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. “My husband Jack found the Old Mill as he was traveling around Guilford County with his work,” Purdue said. “I started going there as a customer hop-
new sponsor. “We worked hard on that. We wanted to stay here. There will be some work done on the course over the next couple of years.” Brazil believes the new tourna-
ment will be one the top players will want to play. Currently, some sit out various tournaments. “I don’t have to recruit golfers anymore and I don’t have to give any more exemptions,” he said. As one of the longestrunning stops on the PGA Tour, the Greensboro-area event has been a mainstay on the schedule since its inception in 1938. GO by Raymond James will still be the regularseason finale contest and be contested Aug. 2-8, 2027, as a full-field event with broadcast

Logano wrangles Richmond Cook Out 400 BY RUSSELL SCHMIDT RACIN' WITH RUSS It wasn’t easy, but by the end of the Cook Out 400 race, Joey Logano scored his 39th career Cup trophy managing to hold off the rapid Toyota of Chase Briscoe over the final 25 laps. Briscoe came off a good pit stop, but about a second behind leader Logano. His Penske Ford proved to be too stout for Briscoe to complete a pass albeit super close at the stripe. The race started with pole sitter Ryan Blaney taking his fourth pole of the season. The mustache bandit ran strong to share the lead often with Briscoe took stage one honors. Stage two saw much of the same with a well spread-out field around the three-fourths-mile track with most laps led by the likes of Logano, Briscoe and Christopher Bell. Overall, there were hardly any incidents and accidents despite 29 lead changes among 10 different drivers. Logano had an easy time winning the second stage and worked hard for the final result. While Briscoe was runner-up, Austin Cindric, Denny Hamlin and Chase Elliott wrapped up the top five finishers. The latest points standings finds Hamlin still on top, but now by 115 over Blaney and 127 in front of Ty Gibbs. Logano’s move up in points is remarkable when you think of his being 20th in points six races ago and now sits ninth! Could a fourth title be on the table? Honeycutt dominates truckin’ at RIR Kaden Honeycutt put on a master class on how to dominate a Crafts-
man Truck race at Richmond International Raceway on Saturday afternoon. A day’s delay for weather saw the truckers take the green at noon on Saturday after Mother Nature called off Friday nights scheduled Black’s Tire 250. With the track very clean and skies clear on a bright sunny day, Shane van Gisbergen led the pack to green, however short-lived as Mr. Honeycutt zoomed into the top spot by the second lap. The remainder of the first stage saw Honeycutt in the distance with SVG and Grant Enfinger running in lock step order behind the leader. Throw 10 points to Honeycutt for leading yet another stage. Second stage action, or the lack thereof looked similar to the first with minimal action and Honeycutt out front. This time however, Layne Riggs worked his way into Honeycutt’s rear view mirror for second and Enfinger third. Notice I haven’t mentioned anything about incidents and caution flags? That’s because other than Stewart Friesen crashing out on lap 213, oddly enough, there weren’t any. Points leader Riggs was running very well until a couple of late pitstops buried him a few laps down before recovering to finish on the lead lap in 15th. Honeycutt was only left to wrap up the day without incident and did exactly that to capture his second truck win in front of Corey Heim, Christian Eckes, SVG and Enfinger. The latest points standings has Riggs still on top, but now only 61 points ahead of Honeycutt and a whopping 150 in front of teammate Chandler Smith.

Ericsson wins Canadian IndyCar Street battle Marcus Ericsson put on quite a show in the closing laps of Sunday’s street course in Markham, Ontario to catch and pass Romain Grosjean to win the 147-lap event. Grosjean appeared on track to finally win his first IndyCar race, only to have Ericsson with other ideas. Teammate to Ericsson, Will Power was close behind at the end taking the final podium position, certainly a notable effort after starting dead last! Louis Foster put on a great show as well with his first pole position, but mid-race just after taking the lead stuffed it in the outside barriers. The day was over in a blink for the fast Brit having to save his talents for another day. The next IndyCar race is this weekend in Washington D.C. with the running of the Freedom 250, in what appears to be a very fast street course. Look for live coverage at 1 p.m. on Sunday. From Rumorville Ty Gibbs is said to be running a Kyle Busch famous M&M’s yellow livery on their No. 54 Toyota Cup car for the upcoming Bristol event on Sept. 19. I’d predict an early sell out in the die-cast world. It’s sounding more and more like Front Row Motorsports is going to hang on to Layne Riggs for another truck season holding up the young drivers quest to compete in Cup full time. The hold-up is Noah Gragson hanging on by a fingernail in his non-performing ride. Me? There would be no delay. Gragson out, Riggs in. Done. Give the body guys a break after two years of wrecked race cars. Well, two years active and done for now. That’s the status of Rockingham Speedway after a few decent years of Cup, Craftsman Truck and O’Reilly competition. Organizers, Track Enterprises have decided to park activities at the very famous track until, “things settle down amid overall uncertainty.” It’s sad to think of all the time, money and effort given over the past three years to recreate great racing, only to see it shut down. Will it be back? That’s it for this week. Next week, look for NASCAR news from Daytona in the Cup and O’Reilly series. In addition, we’ll cover other racing venues from around the globe such as IndyCar and F1 racing.

GO CONTINUED FROM FRONT boro has supported the PGA Tour for nearly nine decades, and we are excited to launch this new chapter by bringing the best players in the world to the Piedmont Triad region.” The PGA Tour Championship Series will feature the top performers competing head-to-head across the season. There will be approximately 23-24 events, including The Players Championship, major championships, postseason and international team events (Presidents Cup, Ryder Cup). The season will run from February through August. The purse will be between $20 and $30 million compared to this year’s purse of $8.5 million. The recent $40 million funding from the State of North Carolina came at just the right time. To get the funding — $10 million a year for four years — Greensboro had to have a top-tier event. With the Championship Series designation, it certainly is top-tier. The complete 2028 Championship Series schedule will be announced at a later date. The Greensboro area event has been a mainstay in Central North Carolina for nearly 90 years, with PGA legends including Sam Snead, Byron Nelson and Ben Hogan all earning victories at the event. Snead, who won the inaugural event in 1938, shares the PGA Tour record with Tiger Woods — whose only Sedgefield appearance was in 2015 — for most wins all-time (82), as well as most wins in a single event with his record eight victories in Greensboro, including his final Tour win in 1965.
“The PGA has extensive history in Greensboro and central North Carolina, and we are eager to watch its next chapter unfold alongside our new partners at Raymond James,” said Brazil. “Since this event was founded in 1938, all the greats have played here, including 19 World Golf Hall of Famers that have won. Our history led us to this point, and we are also excited to continue working with Travel + Leisure Co. as we move to the PGA Tour Championship Series in 2028.” The tournament has been a driving force for good across central North Carolina since its founding, with the Piedmont Triad Charitable Foundation supporting local programs that promote youth and education along with community development. The nonprofit’s support of its backpack charities has provided more than 1 million meals to thousands of Piedmont Triad families since the program’s inception, in addition to supporting First Tee — Triad, Western North Carolina hurricane relief and several other initiatives. Under Raymond James leadership, the firm will expand its Ready for School initiatives with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America to students across the area. Raymond James Financial, Inc. is a leading diversified financial services company providing private client group, capital markets, asset management, banking and other services to individuals, corporations and municipalities. High Point Museum to host wargaming event PRESS RELEASE Registration is now open for an exciting day of history and hands-on gaming at the High Point Museum. On Oct. 24, the museum and the High Point University Historical Gaming Society will host a historical wargaming event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the museum at 1859 E. Lexington Ave. Participants will recreate key moments from the American Revolution by commanding hundreds of 3D-printed, hand-painted, 15mm-scale miniature soldiers across detailed battlefield terrain. Featured battles, including the Battle of Guilford Courthouse, are designed to be completed in just a couple of hours using a
rules-light system with dice-based combat resolution, making the experience easy to learn and enjoyable for both experienced wargamers and first-time players. Throughout the day, HPU professors and students will host and referee each battle while sharing the historical context behind these pivotal events in America’s founding. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss the strategies, decisions, and significance of the battles as they play. “This event gives participants the chance to step into the role of a military commander, make strategic decisions, and gain a deeper appreciation for the challenges faced during the American Revolution,” said Museum Director

Has courage skipped this generation? “The two things you can’t fake are good food and good music.” — Etta James ©2026 King Features Synd., Inc.
Environmental allergies affect pets and people BY SAM MAZOTTA PAW'S CORNER DEAR PAW’S CORNER: The vet says my dog “Wyatt” has hay fever and should be kept inside the house when pollen counts are high. She also says my cat “Snowball” is allergic to something inside the house. Does that mean she has to stay outside? Sign me — Confused in Crystal Lake, Illinois DEAR CONFUSED: Dealing with pet allergies can be frustrating and confusing. But don’t toss the cat outside yet. Allergic reactions caused by pollen, dust and other things in the environment (known as atopic dermatitis) are more common in pets than many owners realize. But they can be managed with a veterinarian’s help. Symptoms of hay fever and other environmental allergies can include frequent sneezing; irritated, runny, itchy eyes; a runny nose; scratching much more than usual; and even a rash on the paws or face. Dogs may frantically lick
between their paws to ease the itching. Excess scratching can cause sores and hot spots on a pet’s skin, which can get infected. Vets diagnose atopic dermatitis by its symptoms and common factors, like the time of year they occur. You can help with this by writing down everything you notice about your pet, including symptoms, behavior and their daily activities. They’ll create a treatment plan based on the severity of symptoms. Steroids may be prescribed short-term to reduce inflammation. Antibiotics or antifungals will clear any secondary infections caused by scratching and chewing. Longer-term treatment may include allergy shots (hyposensitization, a type of immunotherapy), medication to reduce immune response and omega-3 supplements. These can all take a few months to be effective, so your pets may need additional treatment for acute symptoms in the interim. While searching for some memorabilia recently I stumbled across a large 15x22 inch envelope which was labeled “North BY TOM CAMPBELL Carolina DocuNC SPIN ments 15841868.” It was so intriguing that I consumed most of an afternoon reading its contents. Inside the package were 13 historical documents published in 1985 by The North Carolina Department of Cultural Resources’ Division of Archives and History. The fascinating contents included both facsimiles of the original documents, as well as typewritten translations of the hard-to-real Olde English penmanship. The first was the 1584 charter given by Queen Elizabeth I to Walter Raleigh to explore our lands. Next was a 1660 deed from King Charles II to Nathaniel Batts for property along the Pasquotank River, given when the Lords Proprietors had title to the southeastern areas of North and South Carolina. The 1669 Fundamental (first) Constitution of the Carolinas spelled out the government guidelines from the Lords Proprietors. Further documents included the minutes from the Tryon County (now Gaston) Committee of Safety in 1775, detailing colonists’ protestations over taxes and edicts from England, as well as a copy of the 1776 Halifax Resolves, in which North Carolina delegates to the Continental Congress were instructed to vote for independence from the “Mother Country.” The packet continued with the 1776 Constitution, supposedly written by Englishman John Locke; the Secession Ordinance of 1861; the Constitutional Revision of 1835; and the revised Constitution of 1868, in the Reconstruction era fol-
lowing the Civil War. As I read these 13 documents, I was constantly reminded how our North Carolina ancestors pursued freedom by risking their own fortunes and found myself constantly astounded by their incomparable courage in risking all to attain it. My thoughts shifted to today and considered some of the things currently experienced. It prompted me to wonder why we don’t see similar levels of courage evidenced now. Let’s cite a few examples. The White House Correspondence Association dinner is usually an event where the press corps and the president are jocular, poking fun at each other, but there was nothing playful at the recent event. The American President insulted and attacked the press, singling out individuals with demeaning name-calling. It was distasteful, mean-spirited and offensive. Where was the courage of those correspondents present? Why did they just sit silently and take this churlish behavior? Why didn’t they arise in masse and walk out? That would have been the courageous thing to do. Yes, the President is due respect but there was nothing respectful in his behavior. It did not deserve homage, and a mass exodus would have emphatically told him so. Turning to North Carolina, where is the courageous outrage over the wholesale disenfranchisement of voters wreaked by blatant gerrymandering and obvious disregard of the rights of voters we’ve seen in recent legislation? After fighting so long and hard to gain the right to vote what would our founders say about those obviously tampering with election laws? Why are so many silent? What would these patriot founders, who back in 1789 recognized the value of education by founding The University of North Carolina, say about the deliberate and destructive dismantling of our state’s k-12
public education system? They would likely be outraged by such tepid response. Further, our founders deliberately and with careful forethought constructed our system of government to include three separate branches. It is noted they wanted our legislature (Assembly) to have more powers than either the executive (Governor) or judicial branches, but they never envisioned the Assembly would attempt to take virtually absolute powers from the executive branch or ignore rulings of the courts. We are witnessing a massive power grab by a small minority of our populous. Why aren’t patriotic North Carolinians revolting over these actions? Many of those perpetrating these policies profess to being Christians. They want to publish The Ten Commandments in every schoolhouse. They want to tell women how to treat their own bodies, tell folks how to dress, how to refer to themselves and want to enforce their version of Christianity. But they seem to ignore the teachings of Jesus about feeding the poor, giving to those with less, tending the sick and loving our neighbors. And where are courageous souls when our legislature wants to cut taxes to the bone, ignoring infrastructure, healthcare and many other needs? We are a great state, the “goodliest soile under the cope of heaven,” discoverer Ralph Lane proclaimed. And we enjoy a strong economy, good jobs, a wonderful climate and many natural advantages. What has brought us this point in our evolution is the dedication and courage of people who stood up for right, for justice and for the common good. But has courage skipped this generation?

York. Parnell later added freshly made hush puppy mix to his inventory. Purdue recalls cooking hush puppies on the front porch of the mill with a nearby neighbor, while the delicious smell enticed people driving by to stop and shop. “Charlie would grind and make the mix, Jack would bag it and Nancy and I cooked the hush puppies,” Purdue said. Owning a water mill had long been a dream for Parnell. He had never worked in one but seen them in his homeland of Scotland. After serving in the Navy in WWII, he ended up in Canada, met someone who owned a home and boat in Miami and moved there to oversee the property. Falling back on the idea of owning a water mill, his research found the Old Mill of Guilford for
sale and he brought it in the mid ‘70s. After Parnell purchased the mill, he continued to grow his business and at the age of 65 married longtime friend, Heidi, who worked beside him until his death. Six months later she also passed away and the mill was sold to Amy and Darrell Klug. They had been customers and were looking for a small business to purchase. Purdue continued to work after the mill was sold. She has always loved the Old Mill. When her children were young she and Jack considered buying it but circumstances would not allow. She never really intended, however, to build a lifelong career there. She had worked at a Baptist church in Greensboro and later at Florence Elementary School. One might say she grew into

her work at the mill. She had volunteered there so much Parnell offered her a job during the summer months. He later asked Purdue to manage the mill with a co-worker the summer he married, and she began working there fulltime until her recent retirement. Throughout the years, the mill gradually added new muffin, bread and other mixes to the original inventory, all made inhouse, most from grains grown in Surry County. One of Purdue’s favorite items is the Old Mill gingerbread, which is made from a recipe from Kenmore Estate in Fredericksburg, Va., the home of George Washington’s mother. “Someone came to the mill and asked if we could duplicate the recipe, and we did,” Purdue said. “The
visitor showed us a letter written by Lafayette, in which he complimented Washington’s mother on the wonderful gingerbread she had served when he visited Kenmore.” After working full time, Purdue gradually reduced her schedule to three days a week before finally deciding to retire Aug. 1 and spend more time with family, including great grandchildren. “I enjoyed being at the mill,” she said. “The owners, workers and volunteers became like family and like a family we sometimes got together outside of work.” Purdue pictures herself volunteering at the mill on occasion, but there is little doubt she will continue to frequent the place. Where else can she get the freshly ground gains and mixes she so enjoys?

Quaker men also sought refuge from the Confederate draft in the Civil War. In 1819, African American John Dimrey was the first “passenger” on the Underground Railroad when abolitionist Quaker Levi Coffin and his cousin Vestal Coffin took him north to Indiana on the first recorded freedom trip. Coffin was later called the Father of the Underground Railroad. The Quaker Woods is part of the National Park Service’s Underground Railroad History Trail. Within the 240-total acre Guilford Woods, in what has been described as “an oasis of biodiversity,” is an oldgrowth forest with the over 350-yearold tree that witnessed the abolitionists work, thus it’s name, the Witness Tree. Today, the area is used as an outdoor classroom and for field trips. The trail to the Witness Tree is 0.3 miles one way from the parking area. The trail is uneven and has a viewing plat-
form and seating at the end. Guilded tours are available. Piedmont Land Conservancy Since 1990, Piedmont Land Conservancy has protected over 33,000 acres of land, completing over 250 land protection projects. These protected areas include: 9,800 acres added to state parks, turned into nature preserves or now otherwise designed as places to hike, bike, fish and connect with nature. 7,600 acres of farmland protected from development. Change may come, but these acres will remain dedicated to agriculture. 10,600 acres of land, adjacent to water resources, now stewarded to protect the water quality of our region. program. For those times we will have business sponsors provide the lunch,” Gulledge said. “After reaching out to different companies that support the other programs or might be willing to support this one, I have already gotten eight responses.” Several people who participate in the other dementia programs at JUMC had expressed a desire to have something each week. Gulledge says they connect with others dealing with the same problems and soon become friends. “When dealing with dementia, old friendships often drop away,” Gulledge stated. “People sometimes do not know how to handle the situation and caregivers can become so consumed with caring for their loved ones they do not have time to cultivate friendships.” Caroline Oxford, a licensed clinical social worker and director of Family Care Services at Hospice of the Piedmont, will present the first program, “Caregiver Fatigue and Anticipatory Grief.” It will provide details on the psychological, emotional and physical strain of caregiving. The program addresses common end-of-life concerns while offering strategies, including self-care practices, boundary setting and therapeutic grief tasks to support family and professional caregivers. At this time, respite is not available during the Lunch & Learn meetings. Members of Southwest Guilford Woman’s Club originally began a Support Group for caregivers to those with any type of dementia, with meetings held at JUMC. The church’s Stephen Ministry also helped get the program started. “There were months when no one came, but we began to participate in health fairs and the energy for the program began to grow,” Gullege said. The Support meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the Rooks Sunday school classroom. It is here that caregivers can share and learn from another. During the meetings, respite is provided in the fellowship hall. When the Memory Café concept was introduced to organizers they added that program to their dementia Support Group meetings. “Senior Resources of Guilford had two Memory Cafes, one which later closed. We asked them to join us in starting one, and they continue to support our group,” Gulledge said. “Shelby Kline, formerly with Senior Resources and later with HealthTeam Advantage, helped us and continues to support the program. “We changed its name to A Moment In Time because we wanted participants to not look back or forward, but to enjoy the moment.” A Moment In Time (Memory Café) is held the third Tuesday of each month from 1:30-3:30 p.m. in the church fellowship hall. These meetings include both the caregivers and their loved ones with dementia. They offer a time to enjoy music, crafts, food, entertainment and connecting with others going through like situations, all within a relaxed atmosphere. It is a short escape from the 24/7 demands of living with dementia. “Volunteers handle all the programs,” Gulledge said. “It is a ministry to the forgotten. Caregivers sometimes get lost in the day-to-day needs of their loved ones and we want to make sure they feel loved and know they are not the only ones going through this.” To make entry easier for all the meetings, guests are asked to enter the church from the back under the portico. Someone will be there to direct you to the places to meet. A long-term goal for the dementia program at JUMC is to offer a monthly church service on the fourth Tuesday afternoon. The Lunch & Learn series brings an educational aspect to the dementia programs. A Moment In Time offers a social connection and the Support Group provides emotional care. A worship service would add a spiritual element to it. Participants may choose which programs they want to attend. “As we begin the new Max Kendall Lunch & Learn programs Lumber we look forward to partnering with organizations & Tin (and individuals) that share our commitment to supporting families in our community,” Gulledge said. ARIES (March 21 to April 19) Be careful not to allow the backers of a new financial “deal” to pull the wool over the Lamb’s eyes. It could hold fewer plusses and more negatives than you were first led to believe. TAURUS (April 20 to May 20) It’s a good idea to finish all incomplete tasks so that you can devote your attention to next week’s projects. The weekend could hold surprises for romantic Fernandas and Ferdinands! GEMINI (May 21 to June 20) A workplace suggestion you made a while ago that you might’ve forgotten could come back with a request to turn it from an idea to a reality. Meanwhile, your social life picks up considerably this weekend. CANCER (June 21 to July 22) Someone from the past could return with an intriguing opportunity for a future project. By all means, check into it, but don’t neglect your current responsibilities. LEO (July 23 to August 22) Keeping your claws sheathed
and using good humor to counter someone who’s bad-mouthing the Big Cat isn’t easy. But it’s the best way to avoid more problems down the line. VIRGO (August 23 to September 22) A workplace situation could improve if you’re less critical and more supportive of those who are, after all, trying to do their best. Let them know that you’re there to help when necessary. LIBRA (September 23 to October 22) A new job offer might not carry all the benefits that you’re seeking. Make sure that you know what you’re entitled to, what’s off the table, and what’s negotiable before you make a decision. SCORPIO (October 23 to November 21) A social obligation that you’d rather get out of could hold some surprisingly positive aspects. Why not go and see it for yourself? Also, a family member makes a curious request. SAGITTARIUS (November 22 to December 21) Before tackling a new project awaiting you at home or on the job, take time out for some much-deserved
pampering to help lift your spirits and restore your energy levels. CAPRICORN (December 22 to January 19) Your social calendar begins to fill up more quickly than you expected, which is great. You deserve to enjoy some good fun after so much time spent on serious matters. AQUARIUS (January 20 to February 18) A domestic situation continues to improve, thanks to all the tender, loving concern that you’ve shown. A colleague makes a questionable move that you might want to check out sooner rather than later. PISCES (February 19 to March 20) A sudden turn in a romantic relationship calls for both a rational and passionate response. Keep the love level high, but also find out why the problem arose in the first place. BORN THIS WEEK: You often set high standards for others. But to your credit, you also set the same expectations for yourself. You’d be an excellent coach or mentor. ©2026 King Features Synd., Inc.
