When our graduating seniors entered YES Prep, they were promised the support of compassionate, driven educators and a rigorous college prep education. Having now completed their secondary education, I firmly believe that our seniors have all they need to succeed in college and pursue lives of opportunity. As they receive their diplomas today, we recognize their many accomplishments and celebrate their bright futures.

YES Prep seniors, as you move on to the next chapter in your journey—whether that be college, the work Mark DiBella force, and/or military service—YES Prep celebrates you. The Class of 2022 is the largest senior class in YES Prep’s history. You now join the YES Prep alumni base, over 10,000 strong, working to make the world better than you found it. A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL Dear Families, I am elated to welcome you to YES Prep Northbrook High’s Commencement Exercises! We are excited to celebrate the hard work that our seniors have put in over the course of their educational career, thus far!

While this moment is to celebrate our senior class, it’s important that we also acknowledge and celebrate the hard work of their families, friends, teachers, and staff members who have also worked hard to get every senior to this point. Thank you!

This year’s senior class has proven to be one of the most tenacious graduating classes that we’ve graduated this far. They have, like so many of us, endured the Gregory Little challenges caused by COVID-19 and came out on top. The Class of 2022 is tenacious and represents the collective strength and promise of our Spring Branch community. Still, we also know that graduating high school isn’t the end of the story for our seniors, but instead only the beginning. We look forward to continuing to support the Class of 2022 as they head off to college, technical schools, the military, or the workforce.

We take great pride in the community we have all – parents, students, and staff members – created together. A community that has prepared our students to live out our campus’ core values – Excellence. Power. Respect. – daily in their own lives. A community that has helped our seniors to amass over $5 million in scholarship and grant money, over one thousand college acceptances, a Questbridge finalist, a Posse finalist, students participating in athletics at the collegiate level, Houston Livestock and Rodeo Scholarship winners, and so much more!

We have been waiting for this day for a long time and I was worried I might miss it given I am no longer the Principal at Southwest. I appreciate the invitation to celebrate with you all today. ALUMNI SUCCESS ONCE OUR STUDENTS GRADUATE FROM HIGH SCHOOL, THE REAL WORK OF EARNING A COLLEGE DEGREE BEGINS. Our first-generation, college-bound students often face a variety of challenges – academic, socio-emotional, cultural, financial or all of the above. They also follow many different paths on their way to a college degree. Our alumni team is dedicated to providing the support and access to resources our students need to be successful to, through and from college into a career.
