GENERAL STUDIES
Four years at the Yeshivah of Flatbush Joel Braverman High School play a formative role in the growth and development of our students. Our General Studies program integrates a multidisciplinary curriculum that empowers students to succeed, lead, and be well prepared to impact their communities and the world at large. Through an immersive curriculum of English, social studies, math, science and beyond, our students are encouraged to explore and expand their academic pursuits on their path to success.
preparing students for college, careers and increased global competition. The General Studies curriculum concentrates on reading and writing to ensure strong literacy skills. We also offer a solid mathematical curriculum which emphasizes basic number fluency, as well as critical thinking and problem solving. In social studies and science, we develop both the knowledge-content and the process skills. By ensuring a rigorous program that encourages analyzing, synthesizing and the mastery of basic skills, we are preparing our children for a bright future.

HARARI
Problem solving is the center of math learning and concepts are taught with a concretepictorial-abstract learning progression through real-world, hands-on experiences. Our Elementary School math curriculum devotes a heavy concentration on word problems and the ability to extract the important component from each problem. We emphasize the skills necessary for high school with a curriculum focused on PreAlgebra and Geometry.
High School English Department
$50,000
Our English curriculum focuses on literacy, grammar and style, and encourages students to be active readers who ask probing questions during discussions of a plethora of literary genres. With smaller and more intensive writing classes, our program focuses on the ability to write coherently in college and professionally. English lessons at the Yeshivah focus on studying sophisticated literacy, mastering language in both personal and public formats, and developing an appreciation for a multitude of genres of literature. DEDICATED IN HONOR OF NATALIE & ELI GREENBERG BY ADELE & LOUIS SHAMIE
S.T.E.M. – Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math is at the center of our science programs. Teachers integrate these disciplines through project/problem based learning and use coding to program and solve problems. We explore Earth science, including astronomy, weather and climate, and the geology of the Earth. In biology topics range from cells, plants, animals, genetics, and evolution to how we interact with our surroundings. In chemistry and physics there is a focus on preparation for high school by using the Chemistry Regents Reference Tables. Additionally, students are exposed to STEM through hands-on experiments in our labs.
