Sketchup of my site

You are required top design a nature house located in harrow lodge park in Hornchurch which provides an experience which allows us to learn and explore abiotic and biotic things in the world Hornchurch doesn’t currently have anywhere that offers this type of experience which could be a good way to promote a more eco-friendly and responsible outlook for nature especially for the younger generation. Hornchurch is mainly known for being place mainly set to be residential on top of this they have some good green spaces such as parks which will work well in being able to accommodate a nature house
Specification
• Design a sustainable nature house
• Your nature house should be able to accommodate disabled people
• It should be able to teach others about nature
• It must be made of sustainable material
• It should have facilities to help the elderly
• The building should have at maximum 3 floors or below

After having done my research on my location I have come to see that there is a bigger proportion of elderly people located in Hornchurch compared to the younger group. Also the there are quite a lot of families as well as just their being older people. Hornchurch mainly has residential areas as well as greenspaces such as parks

primary images and development drawings

On this page I decided to take pictures of shells as they relate to the idea of an outdoor theme. I could identify some unique shapes that look almost like roofs from the development drawings I have of them

Ink experimentation
I decided to experiment with ink by using a glass vase with water i dropped droplets of ink to be able to see if any forms of unique shapes would appear that could help me come up with some creative ides

Model number 1
using the research that I have done on ink and wooden textures I have started to come up with models to compliment this theme. I used different types of wire and card to show the way the different textures could compliment my model

Development drawings
On this page I will be showing you development drawings of different view points of my model and how each shape changes

What is key to note is how each component overlaps each other in this model like the ink experimentation I did

For this model I used slightly mode angular and geometric forms to make the main part of the structure this is to correlate with the straightness from the research I did of the different types of wood in my primary images

i changes the structure by making it appear more curved in correlation to the ink drawing s I did and I used crosshatching to maintain a texture

Meiji

I decided to do some research on Japanese architecture as they also know how to interlink nature into their work I like the aspect of how they make their roofing which can work well with how I would like my final ideas to have a place where people can birdwatch

Toro canyon house
The toto canyon house is a modern building designed by American architects who wanted to make a visually appealing home that can work and related well with the environment around

Model leading to my final model

I have continued altering the shapes and forms of my model in order to start almost finalising a final looking model for my real life and SketchUp I have mainly decided to take on the more geometric look and dd different wooden textures and tones to the overall design

I used the Meiji Jingu Shrine in Tokyo to inspire this idea of interlinking my main building with 4 different bird watching places I made a card model which I then used sketch up to develop to show this idea

Site measurements 19km by 32 km of the site
Dezeen pathways is an architecture firm that designs pathways for green spaces that people can use to travel across green terrains they are very effective and visually aesthetic when put in a green space The bulging parts could be places to sit and attract nature

Final model

On the following slides you will be viewing my completed and final model I response to my brief

Evaluation
For my project my aim was to design a contemporary nature centre building which offers an outdoor experience for people in the community in Hornchurch I believe that through my research of wooden textures fossils I was bale to come up with an interesting building design for my project. I researched architects from American and Japanese backgrounds to help me come up with a practical design I noticed that they used slightly more geometric and angular forms in their designs which influenced my final outcome
