The Eagle Note from the Editors The focus of the village is now on the Scarecrows, Cider Walk and BBQ due to take place on SATURDAY 3RD SEPTEMBER. Full details and times, etc can be found on page 5. It has been another year of amazing scarecrows that have been put together – the photos of which will be displayed on Saturday evening when the results will be announced as well as being featured on the village Facebook page. This event is certainly another way of showing off our village and how creative our residents are. Many thanks to Lesley and her team for organising this again this year. Welcome to our new neighbours who have moved into the village recently:    

Chris & John Howden at 1 St Andrew’s Close. Stephanie, Stephen and William Jubb at Rose Acre. Mr & Mrs Ager at Little Orchard, and Ben at 6 St Andrew’s Close

We hope you all will be very happy here in Yarnscombe.

VILLAGE HALL – the floor of the Village Hall is due to be overhauled on the 13th and 14th September and therefore will not be in use for the usual clubs and gatherings on these two days. Apologies for any inconvenience but it will be back to its best afterwards. Does anyone have any old copies of The Eagle we could borrow? We are happy to collect them if you do. We’d like to scan and digitise them for posterity. Please let us know .

We hope you all enjoy the Bank Holiday weekend …………………… until next time.

Pat and Sharron
